  1. Mindgame, bring the GG crew with you next time :D
  2. Thanks for coming down guys. Nice meeting you all. GG's to Brice, your PO isn't bad at all. Been a while since I played one. I need to play more GG :<
  3. Practicing not playing to train up for Summer Jam.
  4. Dual console tournies will never work btw. All you need is one match where both are pad players on different systems. Also, every console needs every DLC and Mu unlocked too, or you'll run into problems AGAIN. Pick one console and stick with it.
  5. Ok then, I should be getting to the hotel around 8 PM Friday. No one needs a ride or needs to be picked up from a train station etc... right? SPEAK NOW FAGGOTS.
  6. GG signup numbers look good if NE/NY/NJ will all be there (somewhere around 20). I'd expect it to start Saturday evening... well that's the plan anyway. Biscuits wanted to start GG after BB singles were done.
  7. I'm gonna have to thank the hotel for making that a simple process. For everyone that's staying in the room. Bring cash to pay me when you first show up, expect to pay at least $20 for the whole weekend. Andy, you did reserve the room for Friday and Saturday nights right?
  8. You can give them my cell#. What information did they ask you for when you booked? Just CC# and name? Also, who am I responsible for now? Are Rob and Julius still going? Doomie +1? Mike?
  9. I'll only stream if I'm allowed. I'm expecting that I won't be allowed, since there will be the main stream with AE/MvC3, another 3D fighter stream for T6, and then an anime stream for us. I have a feeling the latter two are just going to be told to go fuck ourselves because the hotel internet will be complete ass. I'm not expecting much, so I'm just going to assume right now that I'll only be able to record and not stream. GG entry will probably be 5 bucks.
  10. Alright, just let me know.
  11. Andy, couple questions for you then: 1). Call up the hotel and see if they could just change the CC information and name you used to book the room. If they can, and you want me to hold the reservations, then I'll do it. (Just send me a text and I'll give you my CC info.) If they can't, then ask them if there's any other process we could do to switch the reservations to go under my name/CC. 2). If you're not coming, does that mean others won't be coming?
  12. I'm so godlike at running tournaments that when I don't run them I run them anyway. 4th of July weekend? Not sure. Andy, how are you getting to and from ECT? Do I need to drive anyone?
  13. Man, that cosplay is fucking serious.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RRmq3PT1Ip4#t=11m08s http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XT37cDa7d6g#t=2m06s Seriously, this argument about anticipation vs. reaction has grown stale. I'm surprised it even came up again... Look dustloop kiddies, there are two sides to this coin, and not one side (opinion) is 100% better than the other. Using OS tech is only ever a bad idea when your opponent knows you're using it. If your opponent doesn't know about it or work around it, you're going to break way more throws and get blown up less than if you were to just press BC if you think a throw is coming. This depends on your opponents knowledge along with a little bit of luck. Using regular throw tech will gaurd you against TRM setups, but it will also get you blown up if you anticipate a throw wrong. There are a lot of setups in this game that make you want to break a throw, and most of the time they lead to big damage. I could go through thousands of match videos on youtube (of both US and JP play) and count thousands of times when the person getting thrown should've tried to tech the other way. It all comes down to personal preference. Anyone who argues about this is only saying shit for the sake of arguing which has no place in this thread, at all. Please. Move. On.
  15. BBQ, who's in your room? Write out a list?
  16. Tell them there's a character select screen, and that it's called that for a reason.
  17. I dunno about you, but that's on the last page for me. People gonna be coming in here in a week asking if anyone has a room cause they're too lazy to flip back a page. Just sayin.
  18. Biscuits got another room at a different hotel a couple minutes away. FYI.
  19. If you took my post like I was calling you a scrub or being offensive then I'm sorry. When I want to answer someone's question I try to be serious, I'm not going to beat around the bush and then just call you an idiot. (Unless you say something like 'I think throws are cheap because of online lag, so I kick everyone who uses throws in my rooms'.) Your question wasn't scrubby at all so I'm not going to give you a scrubby/lame answer. When I say 'you' I don't mean you personally. If you thought I was talking about you then I'm sorry. I was just saying when you generally play someone better than you (not you personally), they're better than you for a reason. What does it feel like playing someone better than you? Have you ever lost? It's that feeling, and any good player would walk away from losing knowing what to improve on so they stand a better chance next time. I know LK is going to shrug off his loss(es) and try and get better because he cares about getting better in BB. He's going to just keep playing so that he gets the skills necessary to make himself a better player. If that means learning another character (to learn their weaknesses) or grinding combos/matchups then he'll do it. He's going to do what anyone would do after losing and wants to get better (and you can apply this to anything, which is why I used basketball/swimming/MMA as examples). ZONG is going to actually go into practice mode so that he doesn't drop unblockable resets... and probably try playing the game for once. Maybe? Dacid is just going to keep doing what he's been doing: mash 6D. Stay gdlk Dacid. Omni is probably going to come out to more tournaments so that he can get over tourney/stream nerves. I know he's a better player than what I watched. Sorry if I'm putting words in their mouth, but I doubt any of them are going to come in here saying Japan was free as hell, and they just let Satoshi win so he could pay for his plane ticket back. They're not going to say he got lucky: they're going to take their losses, shrug it off, and get better. Japan is better than us right now. A lot better? Yes. We've only had the game for less than a month, they've had it for about half a year now. All we can do is play more, put in some effort, and get better.
  20. You asked for an opinion, and I gave it. I was not at Revelations. The term 'Japan-level play' is very subjective (since that covers anywhere from scrub level play to high level play), but yes, I've played people who are very good at their respective games, in both BB and GG. Your question is very simple, and can be applied to almost anything: -Has anyone ever played against LeBron 1v1? What did you think of his game-play? (Not trolling his recent loss, he's still a great player.) -Has anyone ever swam against Michael Phelps in the 200 butterfly? What did you think of his speed? -Has anyone ever fought Anderson Silva? What did you think of his striking? You could easily answer any of these questions with what I said before: I'm not saying that all Japanese that come over here for a tournament are godlike, but I'm just assuming that when you say 'Japan-level gameplay' you mean (Japanese) SBO gameplay. Look at it this way: they take it more seriously than you do, they've played more than you have, and their hit-confirming/yomi/execution/spacing/matchup knowledge/character knowledge far surpass your own. You're playing against someone who is very good at what they do and take it more seriously than you do. If you're asking how I personally did against the really good people I've played: I. Got. Bodied.
