Thanks Eric. GG will be run. 100%. No questions. It had more entrants than BB last year and GG teams generated more hype than all the other tournaments combined. Also, it ended up leaving us with blue balls because faultydefense had to leave to catch his flight during grand finals after a bracket reset. I want a run back this year so bad... FD might not be able to make it though... fundraising anyone?

So, this will be my 4th NEC. I've helped BigE run all of his BB/GG tournaments at all of his NEC/WB/SJ since my first NEC in December of '08. I've seen entries in the 80's and I've seen entries in the single digits. I've done tournaments with 1 setup and I've done then with 4+. I've seen tons of people on the first day and none on the second. I've had my brackets lost after the second round of a double elimination tournament with 60+ entrants and had to restart. I've had to wait hours for people to finish matches in SSF4 and Marvel in order to keep my tournaments going. I've had to deal with people leaving and not telling me. I've had to deal with terrible hand writing. I've seen a lot, and I know how to plan and run these things by now. I know how people feel on the first and second days. I know the limits of the venue and what it does to tournaments that are run simultaneously. With that being said... I've noticed in the past that even though this is a 2 day tournament, everyone seems to lose drive on the second day. This has caused events to either be cancelled or crammed all into 1 day. What I want to do this year is ask you guys what you want to be the main events. I'm only responsible for GG and BB, so I don't care a whole lot about what the other games are doing. If we have BB/GG singles on Saturday and teams on Sunday, there's a very strong chance that teams won't happen. This is because we usually end up starting late because people wake up late, or the 'out-of-towners' have to leave early Sunday afternoon and can't stay. This is how things will be: Main Events: Saturday Side Events: Sunday What I propose we do: Friday Night Event BlazBlue Special Event: 10v10 or 15v15 with excessive drinking. Saturday Events BB Teams (2v2) GG Singles Sunday Events BB Singles GG Teams (3v3) Thoughts? Suggestions?

Yeah, that's Remi. He still sends me texts every once in a while about something GG related. He was a key part of UGS and was part of the reason I got into fighting games. Japan in three paragraphs? Andy, if you ever go to Japan, go to Shinjuku. Service stores. Hookers everywhere. They're probably expensive as fuck though.

Jiyuna is fucking godlike. Nagoya is like the Japanese Philadelphia. Shinkasen are sweet. Going back to Tokyo today. Met Mame and Whistler yesterday and they're both stupid good. There were Ragna/Plat/Carl as well. Mame and the Carl player are both SBO qualifiers IIRC. LK held his ground against everyone here except for Mame. I don't think he got to play whistler. Japan is pretty fun. Not being able to speak the language sucks a bit.

Sup assholes. Japan is a much cleaner New York. The people are nice. The food and drinks are godlike. The arcades are sweet. The first fucking game I played was CS1 against a D mashing Noel. Fucking LK got down at the wrong machine and just told me to sit down then I realized what I had done. The mashing here is on a whole other level. If you're -1 on anything.... 2A/2P NIGGA. FUCK YOUR SHIT. Uhhhhh. I dunno what else to say right now. Left my house at 7AM and got to stunedge's at 5PM (22 hours to get from Browns Mills NJ to Ikebukuro). LK netplayed shounen and Satoshi last night and beat them both. The Chinese SBO qual that we're also staying with (Stanely) is a godlike Valk. We help stunedge move out of his apartment today then we mash later. That's all for now. Take it easy guys.

I wouldn't mind getting hammered and going to Current/PSY/GODZ, but from what I read I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep up with you. I'm not sure if Kyle will have GG at his old place, since he'll be moving stuff out. I'll let you know.

LordKnight and I will be flying into Narita the 9th at about 2 PM. From there we're going to exchange our rail passes, get some currency (if we don't get to do it in Newark), and then take the Narita express into Tokyo to meet up with Stanley, the Chinese BB qualifier. We'll be staying at Kyle's (sunedge) old apartment in Tokyo, but I don't think we'll be able to meet up with him until later since he apparently works late. I only play GG and BB. I know how to play Marvel and SF but I suck at them both, so I'm not sure if we're going to go to the Final Roundbats unless there's a place worth going to around there for GG. We'll be hopping around Tokyo/Nagoya/Kyoto for a little over a week starting the 9th, and then we're going to fly out to Okinawa (19th-21st) for a couple days. I leave Japan the 23rd. I was already planning on visiting Mikado. The level of play there looks godlike. I'll be renting a phone while I'm over there, so if you want you can PM me your e-mail address and I'll send you my number (once I get the phone) and you can just call me whenever you're in Tokyo for some GG.
