  1. What's funny is my name came from the fact that I killed one of my friends a long time ago multiple times using Footloose Journey. Then he was like: stop riding the magic carpet! Fuckin coined.
  2. Wow. It actually stands for "Magic Carpet Ride". I'm almost considering changing my handle to "carpet" so people would get the idea...although "more carcass raid" is pretty lol.
  3. loooollolol!!! So much better than what my other friend thought. He was like... my...chemical romance? -.-
  4. My Slayer is a lot better than when I last talked to you, but it's nowhere near top tier. In light of recent events, I'm going to have to say that my Slayerhood has been pushed aside to make room for Venom, who I intend to have replace Slayer in the near future. I'm not sure of my decision, since every time I'm losing I just trump card Slayer and win, but I've always wanted to play Venom. I've finally reached a point where I can tackle his learning curve. I will lose...a lot, but I think the time invested is definitely worthwhile!
  5. I'd probably like to get a matchup sub-forum going sometime soon.
  6. You're still alive Johnny? You don't respond to me on AIM anymore EDIT: Watched the vid. To be honest, I was a bit distracted by the background noise. I can't really tell you if you're doing anything wrong...everything seems about right, but then again I don't know the matchup that well.
  7. lol yea. Nanashi still uses it all the time. I also see him use throw > 5S(2) > TK HS MS lol:psyduck:
  8. Nice thanks lol. That crossup and there was the regular one you might want to put up there (though I don't think I see N-O use it often): 2D > K SUM > jump forward > j.K > AD backwards > j.S
  9. This is a reminder to myself to transcribe this tri-ball crossup warp setup off a throw I saw N-O, Nanashi, and NNN use.
  10. Hey, a few other things I noticed that need to be fixed: 1. FB DHM- throw> 6P> 6HS> CR> 6HS> SUM S> FB DHM>[Hard] There's usually a 5S after the SUM S. And also on the sweep to SA combos, you forgot the 2D after the 5S(2).
  11. The most common tri-ball setup I see N-O use is usually: throw > 6P > 6HS > P ball > 6HS > S ball > short dash > HS ball > 5P It creates two balls that flow forward in a line and a K ball that you can use either for overhead mixup or in another formation.
  12. If someone will drive me I'll go. I don't feel like driving there again lol.
  13. dang I want to come but I have homework today >.< Maybe next time, deci T.T
  14. lol I like how we just went through an entire page talking about FB SA.
  15. Zaido, I want to see you use those on me next time we play!
  16. No, Kevin hasn't been to my place, but he often shows up @ pulsr's gatherings (which are monthly or bi-monthly). Check the SRK thread or IRC for more info about that. I host Brawl/GG every Thursday night if you guys want to come. Hit me up on aim (teh MCR) or call me @ 714 928 2720
  17. lol:yaaay:
  18. Yea that's true, HS SA has pretty bad recovery too. I usually only use the FB SA as a game-ending poke, since it's hard to react to.
  19. I wouldn't call the FB SA and CR completely useless. It's definitely not the best use of tension, but I DO see even N-O use them sometimes. If you watch the latest 23 on 23 matches, HEVEN uses freeze ball formations (though I'm not sure if they're that awesome to begin with). Also, the angle that FB CR comes out at is nice, especially with the double bounce and the speed at which FB SA comes out shouldn't be overlooked - it's good for catching people in recovery animations. You should also probably mention something about hit confirming 5S(f) into SA FRC > dash > 2D. As for the BNB combos, you could probably just list the standard setups and CR loop combos. (such as the famous double CR loop > S summon > 5S > DC / DHM in the corner).
  20. Went to my place! Or at least the Irvine people (Blitz, HF Blade, EnvyHax, and Razyrbyrn).
  21. Thanks for doing this btw, ky0n01. I've always wanted to sit down and transcribe some stuff from N-O but it always seemed way too overwhelming once I actually thought about it. Power to you!
  22. I don't know how far it is from UCSD, but there's quite a few people in the SD area (including Purrin, Stormlocke, Xyth, and deci). Try contacting them.
  23. Midscreen: he'll kick the ball and probably use the K ball in another ball formation (K,P or K,S or K,HS or K,S,P most commonly). In the corner: he'll 2P the ball and either j.K the K ball, j.K whiff the ball for air mixup, or se the K ball in another ball formation. EDIT: One of the main things that sets N-O apart from other Venoms is his insane ability to improv ball formations and alter them to the current situation. No other Venom is able to manipulate ball like he does. This can come only with experience and I don't think you can actually transcribe any formulas for a skill that only experience can build. But other than that, let's get cracking on his most common combos, mixup, setups, and formations!
  24. Ah no that's not late at all. I usually show up around 9 also, and most people don't start coming in till 8+. I probably won't go Thursdays just because I host Brawl @ my house. But I'm usually there Friday, and if you're lucky there are quite a few decent players that show up there.
