  1. On itemless FC, you can do 236B > 5C > 2C > 5D (item get) > 6C > 22C > *, if that lights your fancy.
  2. Thread updated. This Sunday is Jameschariot, so if you're interested in coming out to train, let me know via PM or something.
  3. Alright Jameschariot is gonna be on Sunday, let's say 3PM to like 10PM. If you want to come, just let me know.
  4. I'm probably gonna host this weekend since TheBiter and co are playing Diablo, lol. If you wanna come let me know.
  5. Results from the last three tournaments posted for BlazBlue. Still haven't updated Ratings/PSR yet. JasonD needs to hook me up with the top4 or so of Skullgirls.
  6. Well... I hate to say it but the ones from the last two events were destroyed by my lack of paying attention. This time around I'm going to try to make time for it, but at the very least, I'll save the archive, lol.
  7. Thanks for coming out everyone. Redrapper sends his thanks, says you guys are great and fuck Capcom players for not showing up, or something like that, I don't really recall. I'll update the standings and such sometime later this week, in the meantime, here's the new special event for next tournament: PUT THE TEAM ON HIS BACK -5/26/12 Format This is a Single Match, Single Elim, 2v2 Directed Random Team tournament. Each player placed into either the "HERO" or "ZAKO" side, then teams will be randomly assigned with one HERO and one ZAKO per team. We will likely divide it exactly in half, using the current rankings as a guideline. If there is a severe mismatch, we'll figure something out, such as having myself play extra HERO or ZAKO characters. During the tournament itself, the ZAKO from each team MUST go first. Then the ZAKO will face the HERO from the other side. The winning team will advance. I'll come up with some kind of prize for the winner later.
  8. See ya'll there. Call me up if something happens to you and you have to be late (562) 215-1818
  9. Rare XIE post about vs Rachel okizeme in the corner: From Mami (single or double) knockdown, you can do Swallow Moon after the knockdown and if it's done correctly (spacing/timing) they will still land in front of you after the wind tech and you can still do a meaty j.c/j.b/j.a to beat a herp derp wind tech + throw. Even if they don't mash out the throw you can get a meaty here, so I think it's the safest okizeme against Rachel as your starting point. The downside to this is that they can forward roll past you in some situations, so you need to either be really good at reacting to the roll with the j.B or set up the combo so that the Swallow Moon's spacing will still have them end up in front of you post forward roll (usually from double mami). They can also technically quick tech and super jump away, so you also need to be on point with knowing how big the tech window really is and get ready to attack when the combo proration has reset. If I think they will neutral tech in this situation, I usually do [8] after Swallow Moon and j.C to otg her even from a distance. From Hammer ender, 5a whiff into Swallow Moon is legit if you think they'll tech immediately forward or neutral, but they can just take the 5a for a blue combo in some situations, so I will usually just backstep and go for normal types of hammer roll punishes/okizeme. It's actually worth noting that because of the changes to Mami, when you go for a double Mami ender and it hits early (Rachel, Arakune, etc), the untech time often actually lasts long enough to do something like Bubble or any of the tricks above, whereas it was usually impossible in CS2.
  10. http://twitch.tv/xiei Jameschariot is up
  11. Traffic is randomly shit today (everyday), so probably not until like 6:30~7:00PM PST. I'm also like the worst netplayer ever, so make sure to rack up those wins! I'm also West Coast :V
  12. I'm probably going to make a rare appearance today when I get home until Jameschariot starts.
  13. As far as BBEX is concerned, lag on the console version is not nearly as significant as opposed to the Arcade one. Both White Req and Relius's Stage lag somewhat more in arcade, but not in the console one. The biggest example is the slowdown that occurs during the explosion of Platinum's missiles or Ragna's Soul Eater followups, which doesn't really occur in the console version at all. I'm tempted to leave it at the 2P rule, just because that's how it's done in an environment where there isn't much communication due to H2H cabs, which in effect will streamline the tournament process. We could pick an "Official Stage" for the event and soft-ban the others, but I'd rather only make that a guideline as opposed to a strict rule, especially with reference to time constraints.
  14. Haha, just be careful is all I'm saying. Maybe I will start posting there just to help illustrate my point. :V
  15. I'm just gonna chime in like I always do: A JP BBS posting with no name, no reference, no backup, no context should be taken as such. For all you know, *I* could have made that post just to troll you guys, so be very aware of what you're discussing. Edit: Also, there's no separation between tiers usually, so if your character is at the end of the list, it doesn't mean shit unless otherwise denoted.
  16. Two things about Saturday: 1) On 5/12 there is also a tournament at Riverside. If you can't make it because you're attending this event, I won't hold it against you. 2) There is the filming for a documentary going down at Super Arcade near the SSF4 cab. They won't be getting in the way of our event or anything... unless you want to be in the movie. If you want to be in the movie, show up, and redrapper will decide whether or not he needs extras on site.
  17. Can't make it for obvious reasons. Wish you guys luck!
  18. Post reserved.
  19. Greetings folks. I've decided to take up the mantle of Tournament Organizer this year and host this year's BlazBlue: Continuum Shift EXTEND tournament at Evo. I'm thinking about allowing online pre-reg via Paypal, but we'll see if that actually pans out, lol. I'm going to be bringing my portable printer, so for this event you can expect pool type Date: Singles 10:00PM Signups 11:30PM Roll Call + Pool Information 12:00PM Winners 1:00PM Losers 2:00PM Top8 3:00PM Top4 4:00PM Finals This is a tentative timeline, but this is one that I am earnestly shooting for. If there is a significant number of participants above 128 people, this schedule will be adjusted accordingly, but otherwise you can take it as a pretty good guide for how things are going to go down. As you may know, I am an extreme hardass with start times and things rolling on time, so don't be surprised if you are unable to participate or get disqualified. 1:30PM roll call is more or less mandatory, especially if you plan to enter other tournaments at the same time. If you show up to roll call, you'll be able to change which pool you are in if there is a conflict with another pool that you are in. Regardless, the schedule of official EVO tournaments is going to be a definite factor in how we're going to coordinate start and end times. Venue: Caesar's Palace 3570 Las Vegas Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89109 Meeting Place: Tentative, however we will have a big BlazBlue banner to gather around. Entry fee: Singles: $10 Online Registration Teams: $5 Per Member Pools: Pools will be determined with a combination of location, skill, and timeslot seeding. We will do our best to avoid placing you into the same pools with numerous players from the same locale/skill, but with only 4 pools and a number of scheduling constraints, there will be some mismatches. I apologies in advance for when I tell you to hold that shit. We will likely stop pools at top 4 of each pool, if there are 4 pools. Meaning Finals will be a Top16 tournament with 8 winners and 8 losers. Ruleset: RPS for choice of 1P or 2P 2P Chooses Stage and Music, Training Stage is Soft Banned 2 out of 3 Rounds Double Elimination Loser can change character, stage is re-chosen by loser No Unlimited Characters Pad macros allowed, macro enabled controller not so much Pre-registration list 1)
  20. It's this weekend! For an idea of what godlike prize awaits you if you win the INVINCIBLE UNDEFEATED GOD OF RAGNA tournament, feast your eyes: When added to any keychain, any onlooker will know for a fact that you are the undisputed god of Ragna. TRAIN UP NOW.
  21. I'm not sure how free I will be to enter the tournament itself, but if you need help with the bracket/seeding/tournament logistics, please let me know. I'll be happy to help.
  22. I'll never spell anyone's name right. Though I could cover it up by saying I usually intentionally spell it wrong on the rankings just so I can differentiate it when I'm doing excel spreadsheet wizardry. Maybe I'll host this weekend at a park or some shit. Poverty Park. Edit: I'm also restructuring how matches are going to be called at the next tournament. There's too much dead time on the stream at the moment.
  23. Yup, made a mistake on the date, lol. It's been fixed. PSR and XIE have both been updated. Check out where you stand.
  24. Thanks for coming by everyone! As you may have noticed, we start VERY on time. Please do your best to arrive on time so that I won't have look sad. I think we're going to have to push BlazBlue event earlier (1PM signups, 2PM start time) just so we can start by 2:30 :V Also, this event didn't go quite as smoothly as I had liked. I think we need to open up more room in the venue so that we can have Skullgirls running to the side during the rest of the BlazBlue stuff. Then we can stream Top8 or Top4 of Skullgirls when it comes down to it and actually have the rest of the planned BlazBlue events go down. I'll think about how I want to alter the timeslots/operations for next time, but keep in mind we may start an hour earlier next time. That is all, check back later for updated PSR/XSR ratings.
  25. Thread updated with PSR. See you guys tomorrow!
