there is a joke to be made here.

i love how people said i lost to him in gg, and nobody had any trouble believing it. then, on the other hand, you have ernest losing to andrew...
-
there's no fucking way in hell i'm losing a mirror match to flaccidblow
-
i'll be in town on monday
-
i save my tournament placings for when i need them
-
learn to instant block so you always have meter
-
you'll appreciate this more than the norcal thread
-
let's play next month
-
for what it's worth; until vineeth places top 8, i'm still the best hakumen in norcal. dacidbro doesn't count until we've played the gayest mirror match in the game.

that's the spirit i don't hold grudges, so take the irl protip at face value, kay?

then you should apologize for all of your posts, since they're all ignorant. or, maybe you'd prefer to throw me through a table. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UM0C-AWXfrc

first i've heard of round robins at nci. it is more flexible logistically speaking. maybe i'll enter melty next month as a sign of good faith.

excuse me, but who are you again? this is the second time i've seen you throw insults towards people who know better than you and have done more for the community than you. first it was ken for not being a native english speaker, and now john, who while admittedly is being a bit snarky, is also correct. here's a tip; don't treat people you're going to meet in person like some random fuck on the internet. it makes people with an ounce of self respect not want to be anywhere near an obnoxious buffon who threatens to throw people through windows. i guess i haven't been terribly clear. to put it simply; i don't think we have the time or resources to run five tournaments in one day. and if it has to come down to removing a current game to make way for a newer one, i think melty would be the best candidate. but, chun is saying that we don't have to off melty, so maybe he's already got the logistics all figured out. if that's the case, i'm all ears.

well, let's be honest here; how many norcal melty players actually come to nci? i wasn't there last month but i can't recall any sfsu people for the better part of a year. though tone does raise a good point; i doubt ah3 or kof13 would out-attend gg, and there probably will be a significant amount of crossover (why is it so bad to assume that people at the venue may want to play another game? as it is, there's a lot of people entering two or more tournaments). and guys, people are always going to be late. that's just how it is. also, from the perspective of a to, being late is not nearly as bad as being there and hovering around the tournament setups like vultures waiting to play casuals. i can't tell you how many times i had to yell at people in november to stop playing casuals on tournament setups; just because they're not being used doesn't mean they're available.

it depends on your strengths as a player. if you have good execution (if you've only played bb before, i hate to break it to you, but this is probably not the case) you can probably pick up whoever you want if you stick with them. but, generally speaking, i think an ideal beginner character has two of the following three: easy bnb's, relatively simple neutral game and/or easy, basic mixups. if you think millia is all of the above, i would like to see you play an entire match without the pin. i think we can all agree that potemkin is one of the easier characters to learn? not to say that potemkin in general is easy, but he has a forgiving initial learning curve (easy bnb's, relatively easy to understand compared to most of the cast). slayer i would say is a good beginner choice as well, especially if you're a capcom player. again, not to say slayer in general is easy, but who can't understand 6K/2D/throw? he's st ryu minus a fireball. past those two though, i think it becomes player specific. i would only advise against eddie, millia and aba for first picks because they require decent execution right off the bat. then again, perhaps that's my own weaknesses as a player speaking. that being said, this is still guilty gear; everyone is hard and you're always going to have something to learn.
