that's potemkin's favorite zone as well, since he can 2S or slidehead you to death. let's not forget how good f.S is against pot. the way you use 5K in most other matchups should be more or less the way you use f.S against pot; he should be worrying about how to get around f.S any time he tries to approach you. as for slayer, i can write up something in the next month or so, but for now you should just watch this match. the johnny player is FC, who's actually a venom player; but, he plays this matchup more conservatively than any jo player i've seen. he does drop some combos and miss some frc's, but he plays footsies incredibly well and he instant blocks his way out of a lot of mixups. hm, 2D beats pot backdash? maybe if you delay it, but then you're risking all sorts of nasty things... and i am not a "troll". i take deep offense to such charges. i'll do what i can for matchups once finals are over, but to be entirely honest i only really know may, ky and slayer (maybe axl now as well) decently at all; and even then, i only really fight one player for each of them, so my scope of those matchups will still be extremely limited.

vf5 is actually pretty scrubbified compared to 4 in a lot of ways (0f throws, throw clash, OMP/K). 5fs fixes pretty much all of the problems old school players had with 5, except they've removed multiple throw breaks, which is not sitting well with many players.

how do you miss a 5 frame frc? for real now. to answer your question though; of course. if you place the mist without enough + frames you're liable to get punished. the frc is there so you can still mist off of certain knockdowns, as well as being able to meaty 3HS when you normally wouldn't be able to.

the issue is that we've only been regularly playing the game at all since rod got back late last year. 08/09 was on and off at best, especially once summer hit and we had no place to play. we would have never ran into that issue if we had somewhere we could play whenever; arcades fit that bill better than anything. that's the reason i played bbct in 09 far more than gg, lol.

basically, jam can parry any move that hits mid or high. it's similar to a third strike parry in concept, but you have to input the parry motion from neutral (forget the exact number of frames you have to remain neutral), otherwise you just walk forward.
-
it can also represent a neutral input, like the one necessary to do jam's parry.

and they didn't used to travel to tournaments or go to arcades? and if you think the scene isn't arcade dependent (or if you must, replace arcade with "place people can play at whenever") then uh, why is japan so good? lol. (and this isn't an excuse, fagbot) and yeah lol "new faces" in norcal. i'm about the newest face there is, and i've been at this for 2 and a half years now.

socal is good at gg because they have three arcades (ai, ffa, denjin) to meet up and play at. what do we have in norcal? svgl? sjsu? sfsu? davis? starbase (lol)? keystone (lmao)? we don't even have an arcade as good as ffa, and ffa is ghetto as hell. east coast can be just as sprawled out as cali (actually, moreso in some areas). the difference is that ec has more regular gatherings and strangely enough, more arcades. ctf isn't the best arcade on the planet, but it beats the hell out of svgl, that's for sure. then i know there's places like xanadu games which is just a place where people bring console setups and play whenever (effectively an arcade, more or less). compared to what we have in norcal, even a ghetto arcade like ctf would be a godsend. but, hopefully we'll have gamecenter ex sooner rather than later. and alec, i'd say norcal is no better than most other regions in gg right now. bb we're behind northwest and texas but that's it.
