  1. is there some sort of argument going on here? because all i see are poop jokes.
  2. lol i'm not that good; i react quickly and i know a lot about the mechanics of bb, so even if i'm unfamiliar vs a certain character/player/setup, i can still work my way through it usually. not the case in gg! dashing to cover ground is kind of iffy. i mean, you're literally moving yourself forward, entirely vulnerable; and for what? a measly bit of forward motion? the only time i ever dash forward is if they're just begging to eat hotaru (early, out of range jump in, for example), or if i'm at + frames and i want to make sure they aren't going to press buttons. lord knight's a very respectful player. there are ways to disrespect him, but you have to learn to respect him before you're able to do that. by respect i mean that he doesn't do dumb, gimmicky shit, nor does he try to mash his way out of mixups. you should take after him and start to ib things that are free punishes, or at the very least, make it harder for him to continue pressure. framedata is there for a reason!

  3. you really need to learn to ib if he's jabbing to keep you in blockstun. and honestly, don't be afraid to jump; this isn't guilty gear. best way to deal with litchi at neutral is to just turtle. j.C, 5C, 5B, 2B, 2A her to death. if he wants to start pressing buttons then you just hotaru.

  4. are you guys still using counters on anything but reaction? and honestly guys neutral game vs makoto = free as hell. if you know how to use j.C in every other matchup that isn't arakune/hazama you should have no problem keeping mak away. and her mixup isn't that good either (from what i've seen, at least. point me in the direction of a japanese makoto if you think i'm wrong), just train yourself to react to overheads like every other matchup.
  5. because one of those scrubs was somehow managing to drop iori bnb's i mean what the hell
  6. "many" is a bit of an overstatement, though.
  7. there's one guy who's actually good at kof, the rest suck though
  8. i'd settle on a gas chamber for you, zidane-sama.
  9. scott's like the philosophy major who ended up majoring in computer science instead because he realized that as much as he may love philosophy, he's simply not going to be able to make a living off of it.

  11. laptops can be a pain to work with, but they aren't so fundamentally different as to warrant charging people that much for a simple hard drive recovery and installation. i mean shit, i did a better job of putting my laptop together than the manufacturer did after they "fixed" my problem, and it was the first thinkpad i'd ever opened up. please don't tell me this was done by geek squad, at least...
  12. people seem to get pretty excited when they watch me play
  13. i'm sure at least some of you have been wondering: "where the hell is the option for scanline emulation in demul?" well, it's there, you just have to make it yourself. observe; make this file in notepad and call it scanlines.slf. uniform sampler2D OGL2Texture; void main() { vec4 rgb = texture2D(OGL2Texture, gl_TexCoord[0].xy); // if x is even => smooth with next pixel if (fract(gl_FragCoord.x*0.5)>0.5) rgb = ( rgb + texture2D(OGL2Texture,gl_TexCoord[1].xy) )*0.5; // Test on 2 lines // float test = fract(gl_FragCoord.y/2); // if (test>0.5) gl_FragColor = rgb; // else gl_FragColor = rgb*0.5; // Test on 3 lines // float test = fract(gl_FragCoord.y/3); // if (test>0.666) gl_FragColor = rgb; // else if(test>0.333) gl_FragColor = rgb*0.75; // else gl_FragColor = rgb*0.5; // Test on 4 lines float test = fract(gl_FragCoord.y/4); if (test>0.75) gl_FragColor = rgb; else if (test>0.5) gl_FragColor = rgb*0.75; else if (test>0.25) gl_FragColor = rgb*0.5; else gl_FragColor = rgb*0.25; } then make this one and call it scanlines.slv uniform vec4 OGL2Param; uniform vec4 OGL2Size; void main() { float x = (OGL2Size.x/2048.0)*OGL2Param.x; float y = (OGL2Size.y/1024.0)*OGL2Param.y; gl_Position = ftransform(); gl_TexCoord[0] = gl_MultiTexCoord0; gl_TexCoord[1].xy = gl_TexCoord[0].xy + vec2( x, 0.0 ); } put them both in whatever directory you want (i made one called shaders in the demul directory) and there you go, glorious scanlines. if you've been having any of the same issues i've been having with occasional hiccups and trouble reading inputs you should give this a shot as well, as it seems to have entirely alleviated the former and partially the latter.
  14. in before scott says something that i would get banned for say- oh

  16. i guess mark me down as the sole voice of dissent against awards, premium memberships, etc. what matters is what you contribute; your avatar or your collection of gold stars doesn't make you exempt from posting misinformation or bad arguments. but, i realize i am in a fringe minority on the matter, so i guess i'm just pissing in the wind here. edit: that being said, if you need to make money to keep this place around, then go for it i guess. i'm all for ads; i'll even click them if you need us to.
