  3. there's 3 and 4 way option selects, you know... but yeah, it's when an input is ambiguous and can result in more than one outcome. it's in virtually every fighting game, and in most it's usually pretty goddamn good. arcsys is the only developer i know of (other than am2) that actually tries to make option select difficult to utilize (though this definitely applies more to guilty gear than blazblue).
  4. in cs, hakumen has to cheese out practically all of his matchups. i get the feeling that you're trying to play ct hakumen like i was for awhile, but you really need to stop. like, stop jumping in, stop countering (even on ib, the guessing game is rarely in your favor anymore), and stop trying to do anything but poke at mid/long range. when you _do_ happen to get in, you just have to be really goddamn gay and mash 2A. i really wish i was kidding, but 6A is bad now and 5B isn't quite as effective as it was in ct. hotaru you can use more or less the same as ct (in fact, you should use it even more because if you can land a fatal counter the round is yours); when you want to use hotaru at max range on the ground but don't have the meter, 5C instead. as for antiair, i shit you not just jump and instant block. from there punish with j.C, hotaru, or whatever you feel like.

  14. i actually think john's idea is great, i just don't see it practically working in our situation. what would eventually end up happening is certain parts of the bay get way more players than the rest (see: south bay/sf) and east/north bay peeps just stop running their own shit and come to the bigger gatherings anyways, which would defeat the purpose of the whole regional tournament thing. now, i would like to see more casual sessions throughout the bay, since i think those play a much bigger role in strengthening the scene anyways (or local netplay, for the sake of convenience). but for tournaments, i think we should stay centralized; even if we try to split it up, we're going to end up right back where we started.
  15. i would really like to come but don't have a ride? aaaaa i want my stick back goddamnit
  16. like i said, the only emulator supported by ggpo right now is finalburnalpha, which is designed to emulate those ancient arcade boards that can't do 3D (not to mention cpu's that are nothing like the naomi's SH4). ggpo will, at best, happen in several years when naomi emulators become more optimized. even then, i wouldn't count on it. it was there by default for me, but yeah, it's in the plugins folder.
  17. online ac anyone? or maybe slash, since you're all a bunch of sick fucks
