  1. people complained that it was too heavy? i don't think it's heavy enough *shrug*
  2. yes fuck hdr, i'll bring my dreamcast
  3. i honestly don't get why this thread is open anymore. maybe day 1 people thought hakumen could win, and maybe the real optimists were insistent on it just being another bad matchup a couple months after that (myself, admittedly); but anyone who followed ct after last summer should know that this is an impossible match to win. against a good arakune (again, NOT your friend that has no concept of what defense is, NOT the shitty players you find online; and trust me, they are ALL shitty), hakumen has no chance. no chance. at all. don't worry though, you'll get your revenge in cs; if you can stay awake during your match, that is.
  4. nah, they got everything from the mook.
  5. i'll sum it up as well as i can. i am not a fan of the system direction in cs. the increased blockstun on many moves means that there's simply too many mixup opportunities and the increased hitstun (this includes fatal counter, though is not only limited to it) makes a lot of moves hitconfirmable into legit combos. this may sound fun on paper, but it gets old real quick when you win 90% of your matches by jumping and pressing C. the roster is marginally more balanced than ct's, though at the expense of having an interesting, entertaining game. in cs, we're lucky if the players have managed to stay awake during their match, otherwise we get entire best of three sets won by time overs. tsubaki isn't a bad character design, albeit a gimmicky one. hazama however is the single most boring character in the entire history of fighting games; arcsys has successfully designed the first character that is only capable of winning by time overs. and the worst part is; with the few changes from ct either making the game boring or halfassedly "fixing" some problems, most of the game is practically untouched. it's still a jumpy ass A+B+C fest with easy mode instant blocks (though they don't give ridiculous frame advantage quite as much now, what with all the increased blockstun) and an oki game so terrible that i can't help but wonder why people even bother with it. i may be one of the only people publicly saying this all right now, but i am certainly not the only one thinking it. i really hope whatever changes arcsys has in store come console release revitalizes this game (doubtful), otherwise i'm left with no choice but to keep playing better games. this all being said, i would recommend you all wait until you get to play the game for yourselves before you pass judgment on it. some of you may not want that radical of a change from ct- and if you don't mind that it's been slowed down to a crawl, then this game is for you. for everyone else, i suggest you grind melty blood in time for evo.
  6. oh add me! im garbage but w/e everyone outside of japan is
  7. 360 exclusive, region locked. bet on it.
  8. in which case, get an hrap-se or mod the te you already have? non-issue, imo. though i guess it should be noted that markman did design the te so he is obviously going to say that it's the best retail stick. in any case, the te is still a great stick and will fit the needs of most anyone (albeit you may have to change a thing or two about it). personally, i prefer the hrap for the true astro city curve, though i wouldn't turn down a te if i was handed one at a tournament.
  9. sanwa buttons and stick make it effectively B.
  10. the infamous stick tier list is a useful guideline for deciding what stick to get. just don't get anything below B rank and you should be fine. and for pad players; keep in mind that a dualshock is not your only option. people have been padhacking saturn pads for ages now and those are probably the best you're gonna get as far as pad goes. that being said, everything is far more precise on stick. take it from someone who played gg on pad for over a year; microswitches >>>>>>>> contact board
  11. hitboxes in 3d fighters generally piss me off, as does off-axis bullshit and tracking moves. but at least tekken has a good oki game.
  12. venue was tight and all, but for what we all payed for a venue fee i think it was a bit lacking. very crowded, very cold, but nonetheless very hype. so where do we head to next month? i vote devry.
  13. just so you all know, translation is roughly 80% done. whatever you do, keep your expectations low; there aren't many surprises.
  14. a couple of things i discovered from my transition from pad to stick a year ago: - on pad, you're mashing directionals as fast as you can, and often do directionals multiple times just to make sure they come out. when first playing on stick, i'd recommend slowing down your directional inputs; you'll probably soon discover that hitstop is in the game for a reason. - sanwa buttons are sensitive. you do not have to mash them to register an input- in fact, you should be as gentle as possible so much as to allow for the most amount of control over your inputs. a little experiment to see just how sensitive they are; put your stick a foot or so above your lap and then drop it- 9 times out of 10, a button or two will register an input. - if you feel that you're confident in your stick handling ability (NO HOMO ECKS DEE), pop in super turbo. no, not that sirloin romhack shit, i mean the original. if you can consistently do inputs in that game, everything else should be a breeze.
  15. just make a shirt that says "IM GAY" in impact font or
  16. lol that vid i like how you put in daft punk just loud enough to be heard

  17. hakumen's mixup game is certainly above C. i'd put it at B+; everything he has puts you in guardstun for a ridiculous amount of time. and his breaking out of pressure is easily S. ib into yukikaze ruins everyone's day now that it catches lows. and if you lack the execution for that, just counter assault instead because that catches lows too.
  18. if this is anything like scott's ggac matchup chart, you can expect every matchup to be even.
  19. dude he plays a beastly puzzle fighter ryu i would play him, but i'd probably lose and he smells so...
  20. seeing as i'm the guy that bought the mook to be translated for the community and offered to organize a regional 5v5 at evo only to be laughed out of the room, any remarks about how i'm killing the scene is really just insult to injury. if anything, i'm incredibly disappointed at how this game has already collapsed in on itself.
  21. only scrubs don't show up smelly
  22. hype dying at arcade release is generally not a good sign. and honestly, ct hype died at console release. i hate to be a pessimist, but there's really nothing else to be said; this game was dead before it hit the ground. we'll have our year at sbo and a year of non-evo majors (in the shadow of ssf4, no doubt) and then we'll have a new game. and hopefully, that will be the game to put the bb community back on the map; cs has already missed that boat.
  23. i wish i could be assed to care man. nothing against any of you guys; norcal community is great. this game's shortcomings and the lack of hype on a national level is more what's keeping me away from this game. i'm writing bbcs off as a total loss and hoping bbac brings back the hype we had when ct first hit while bringing the bb franchise to the level it should be at. until then, i'm gonna stick with gg and play other games.
  24. well, i'm only half kidding. i just wish there was more in this game to keep it interesting. it really does feel like a half assed patchwork update, but maybe my expectations were too high. in any case, see you at the t6 cab.
