  1. When you land a CH fork and go into the 5B 6CD ect combo instead of ending with a 3C after the last 5B I tried something different.. I went 5B 6CD j.C 5B 6CD j.C 5B j.3CD 5B 5CDC But sometimes the j.3CD doesn't connect. Is it because this isn't supposed to combo? I've landed it some times and it's been blocked other times. Should I just be omitting the j.3CD? Any time I did land this combo though I went into the frog, dash 3C, 6A, Super, Frog, 3C, j.2C (pumpkin oki) and it did a shit-ton of damage... It requires full stock of wind but typically I'd land the CH fork twords the beginning of the match... The combo gets you from 0 heat to enough to super, and if your around half-screen it pushes them to the corner. By the end of the combo I've already gained 2 stocks of wind, one of which goes to the pumpkin oki. It's pretty situational, but I was loving it when it was coming out in matches today. I guess I was just wondering if it is an actual combo, or if they were just blocking wrong during it...
  2. This was just what I was looking for Kro, thanks! Lol! I remember now... I thought it was pretty damn close though. Think I remember your Rachel being more solid than mine though. It's just that damn Rachel vs Rachel madness.. It was, oh shit! Green bars!! "Join" ...oh hell 20th Rachel Mirror today So I only think I stayed for one game Hit me up though for sure, I haven't played online in almost a week though I think so I'm probbably a little rusty...
  3. I've actually just started doing the j.2CD as "j.3CD" and so long as the timing for the second j.C is right you don't have to dash into the 6A. But I'm thinking since it doesn't seem to work on everyone I should just start trying to use j.2CD instead... And I'm pretty sure I played you before Cyxx, haha it's no wonder I had green bars... your in CA too
  4. So I've been practicing for a little while since I had a lot of holes in my game.. but couldn't help but notice a couple things... First, I've got the BnB air combos down to ending with j.2C's instead of the extra damage with 236A endings due to the fact that I loose my advantage in position with the 236A ending... it's especially true with NU. Anyways, while in training I noticed a couple of things... 6A, 5B, sjc, j.B, j.A, j.B, j.C, dj, j.2C doesn't seem to work on Noel? She always seems to tech right before the j.C comes out... is this normal? I may be doing it wrong, but I was trying for quite awhile. And are there any stipulations on the "6A, 5B, sjc, j.B, j.A, j.B, j.C, dj, j.2CD, j.C, 6A, Super" combo? It's a bit annoying since everyone has a different distance in which they can tech the last j.C. I noticed it was super easy on Hakumen, but couldn't even get it to come out on Jin... I noticed you guys were talking about it a couple pages back, but I'm thinking that maybe your doing a different combo from the take-off?
  5. So I've got in a lot of practice against a pretty decent tager. He playes somewhat cautious and responds to what I do, while putting on some moderate pressure so as to not be too predictable with what he does. I usually go 3:1 with this guy or close to that. But I played another tager a couple of days ago, and he was completely different. Same combos over and over again, I'd say 99.9% predictable, but the problem was I didn't know wtf to do to punish him I'd pressure the hell out of him from the start of the match, but eventually going balls to the wall against him I run out of wind. So I back off a bit, but eventually he gets in a hit... Typically a 5D, then followed by sledge, and the overhead smash. And eventhough I block I seem to take a hit as if I weren't?? Following up with another 5D knocking me across the room. After that it goes Sledge, 5D, Sledge, 5D, Sledge, 5D, ect.... The sledge ended up being too far for me to punish, and I was pretty sure I was still rolling during that anyways, leaving me right back in his 5D range because I was magnitized, wich again goes back into sledge, and the overhead leaving me hit once again and rolling across the screen, because for some reason I can only block so many hits from tager before block doesnt work anymore? After reading this it seems as though I need to learn to IB his 5D, and punish, but is there anything else? I feel so stupid for loosing to something like that, after about 10 matches I was 3:7 with every single one of the wins being from a perfect match in which he didn't get a chance to start his offence... because as soon as he did I was F***ed. I just had no clue... I was at a complete loss  Edit: Maybe a 236A right on wake-up? Since I'm magnitized I'll get sucked in and it might hit before the 5D reaches me?
  6. Thanks everyone, I just found the combo in your notes as well Soniti. Just one thing on the follow-up after the frog goes off... If I've held 3c as their coming down from the super that'd put them too high to sweep after the frog catches them right? and I usually don't go 3c (1-hit) 236a. My execution blows and I usually just get 3c, 22a. So I just do 3c (3-hits) dash in, 6a into super, then follow up with the extra frog and 3c. Only time that really differs is with the weird 3c characters... I just do 2b, 5b instead of the 3c for them. Thanks though! I'll have to try some of those setups.
  7. So I've run into this a lot actually, and I'm kind of curious as to what some of you do.. After you've got the BnB in the corner: "5cdc, frog, 3c, 6a, super, frog, 3c" what do you follow up with? If I have the meter I usually try to follow up with another 6a then super, but I usually input the super to slow and they're able to tech after the 6a. So, what about the times when you dont have more meter or not want to use the extra heat? I was thinking after the 3c and during the frog hit summon a pumpkin, then frog, then wind the pumpkin in as oki and cover for the last couple of frames getting the frog out?
  8. ^^ Seems like it would be hori setup as a standard sanwa joystick/buttons typically runs between $50-$60... I honestly don't think a stick that comes in a package with a $60 game that only costs $150 together would have the same parts as a stick that soely costs as much as much as the complete bundle itself. I think the real question is whether its going to be easily moddable like say the SFIV SE sticks, or a complete pain in the ass like the hori EX2's
  9. Right, I wasn't really being all that clear.. The bigass multi-hit ice sword (3 hits I belive) shouldn't be completely nulified by the pumpkin. I meant that if you have a pumpkin out and you see him start up that sword you can wind the pumpkin into him (because the startup is VERY long) which stops the sword from coming out (if you try to run up and hit him during the startup you'll just trade counter-hits) Using the pumpkin in front of you nets you a CH on him, which gets rid of the sword and opens him up for a combo.
  10. I think I'm hearing this wrong... but either way: Pumpkin goes through his projectiles, and it will knock him off his Ice Car. If you have a pumpkin out and you see him start the bigass ice sword that hits like 3 times just wind it into him (taking out the ice sword) and combo afterwards.
  11. I just see a Red "X" I love the sanwa red and yellow together though, be curious to see what it looks like with the black too! Are you printing it yourself then? I thought most places used sRGB
  12. Yeah, I poped in here when I recognized your name lol. Long story short I was out this past weekend doing interviews, and someone decided to park my truck ON-TOP of the cases that were hanging out to dry I'll need to start some more up... But there were 9 sticks total and that consisted of my entire wood supply
  13. I'm trying so hard not to buy a damn TE... I want to mod one so badly, I'm thinking about selling my customs for one =X All of my WIP sticks got obliterated so a modded TE would be sweet and I could sell my customs for more to get some much needed cash =S I really love your Nu stick, and it's making my decision so much harder -_-
  14. Haha, thought that name looked falmiliar... You really like to rape my scrubby rachel lol... gg's though!
  15. Did you try to air throw during the frog instead of the 6C~~~? I know it can be teched, but it's not really a realistic combo to begin with... and the offchance that you do catch someone with it that doesn't burst first and it doesn't kill (hakumen or tager) chances are they'll be too pissed off trying to mash out a tech that they may miss the throw. Lol...
  16. The chair also works for some of his longer ground strings, especially if he's using his RC's to keep the pressure on. But don't abuse it. After the 1st or 2nd time he'll see it coming and just grab you.
  17. Zeenof you just need to Astral Gambit... 6A's are really the only thing I have luck with agaisnt a good Hakumen... but like you said he's better than just a "good" hakumen... I wish you'd put up some youtube videos or something Kro, your Rachel is really amazing. I've never seen you play the Hakumen at FFA though, so I'm not really sure how you spar with him when all of your zoning tactics get blocked. I'll definatly try out some of that stuff though next time.
  18. I know you said there were a lot of mis-inputs in your AI match with HFA but just a question on one of the things I noticed. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yN7pucYGzT4&feature=related At 3:58 you had 5A 5B 5CDC 214A dash 3C Was the 5B just too far to begin with so that it didn't combo into a 3C frog hit? Because I seem to get this exact senario 90% of the time... Also, even on frog characters I can't get the 3C to connect most of the time. Generally the only way I can get in is with a j.2C and with that start-up the 5B is already pretty far out so by the end of the 5CDC 214A I'm too far out for the 3C to even connect before the roll. Should I just start using j.2C3D > 5B 5CDC BnB combos? I can do the combos easily in training mode without even thinking... it's just getting a 5B to connect at the range it seems to need to be in to work with BnB's in a reall match that's not really working
  19. Damn, that's top notch! Awesome for a first stick for sure!!
  20. Yeah, you don't really need to get something top end to start off... Only reason I suggested that was that you'd already get something that you wouldn't have to mod later... I've seen a lot of people grab a really in-expensive stick only to want to mod it a couple months later... Some of the other sticks you can get your hands on are cheaper to begin with, but once you start modding them it can get up there in the higher price range... If your tight on money, a less expensive stick should work just fine. Unfortinatlly, I'm not too up to the specifics on PS3 sticks (I have an xbox) but if there's something like an EX2 for PS3 then those are usually pretty cheap. Also, as someone else on here said you might be able to grab a PS2 stick for cheap and just go out and grab an adapter for it. Also, I think a "mayflash" might be in this category as well? Someone with more knowledge will probably chime in here soon. Also: Anyone here know if Taito actually sells their black 2P Vewlix panel? I can get their red 2P panel, but I'm really looking for the black one and I can't seem to find it anywhere... I don't care if it has the buttons/sticks/harness in it or not... I just want the damn panel any way I can get it The red one is around $400 shipped from Japan, so I'm assuming the black one would be similar...
  21. No need to be sorry. I like Octo's as well, but when I go to the arcade they use square gates since it's pretty much the standard.. So I swapped and put a square gate in my stick. I still screw up from time to time, due to that but it's getting better. I think that if you're going to be playing on PS3 and PC mostly and can afford to wait for the Wii compatibility you might be better off finding a SFIV TE stick or something along those lines. It'll have real arcade parts in it (sanwa) and you'll be able to switch between square and octo gates (you'll have to buy an octo gate tho) So, basically you wouldn't need to swap parts out because they've broken, gone bad, don't work correctly, or whatever... I've had sanwa parts in my stick for about a year now, and they've taken quite a bit of punishment and still work perfectly. Probbably why arcades use them as well..
  22. A PS3 stick that works on PC is fine most do that, but for Wii you'd need something custom made, or to pay someone to add a board in the stick that works with the Wii. And almost all sticks on the market are 8-way. Don't let someone tell you only an octo-gate is 8-way... they're stupid if they do. 8-way refers to the number of inputs possible and not the number of corners on the gate itself. Most gates that you'll encounter are either square, round, or sometimes octagonal... all of which are 8-way. A 4-way gate would look similar to a "+" sign. Only Up, Down, Left, and Right are able to be input.
  23. I remember seeing that stick a while back, Super pretty! Loved everything about that one. I'm pretty sure Jaxel over at SRK made it, and I'm also pretty sure those are his original pics of it when it was completed well over 6 months ago... I'm always kind of skeptical when people who sell their sticks only post the "original" photos of it and not the ones after it's already been in their possession for some time
  24. Thanks, It took awhile to make that one. Had a hard time finding a place for everything lol. I posted it a couple pages back though: http://www.dustloop.com/forums/showpost.php?p=380976&postcount=476 It works on both Xbox 360 and PS3. You use one of the buttons on the back to select which system you want to use it for when you plug it in.
  25. I didn't find the analog stick to have any similarities to a joystick. Number one reason for me was that you use only your thumb on the analog, but you use your whole hand on a joystick. Feels completely different
