NORCAL INSTALL! [Main Information and Ranbat Update Thread]

I'm in support of the "CS2 ASAP" mentality, admittedly because I'm not actually going to start playing Blazblue again until then. Though, I fully agree with RinHara's position, we would have some insanely early footage of CS2 to showcase to the BB Vlog, which is always extremely hype, and I think the tournament is likely to be very exciting on account of the game being so new again. -

I can see Cathy/Tyr playing a fairly decent mid-range game. You can kind of mix things up switching between Tyr's sword charge and Cathy's body rush. I also hear a ground body rush is a great thing to EF cancel. Not to mention Tyr just has overall good stats. I would imagine a game with Scharlachrot/Sin being strange. You basically play your best game of keep away knowing that Sin's very high defense will help keep you safe, and when your life gets low enough to the point where just about anything would kill you, start putting down razor traps to set the pace of the match in your favor. Schar/Sin is basically a super risky, super janky style of play. What do you have against Mirror? 214E is an amazing anti-air against almost anyone, not to mention a decent okizeme. The rest of Mirror's stuff might be dependent on your opponent, but that's half the fun of playing it. -

Super late shoutouts thanks to Pennsylvania hijack Sunday morning. Shoutouts to DigitalWatches, I had a ton of fun with those casuals. That matchup is terrible, but I don't care. Shoutouts to Qwerty for holding the entire tournament behind and immediately losing to SuperJake. Ohshitwhatareyoudoing.png Shoutouts to PNW zombie pot player (Tae Seong Kim or something) for annihilating me in GG. I seriously don't ever get a chance to fight Pot so thanks for that, I won't forget. Shoutouts to Fiona, for apparently only being bad when I use her. What the hell guys. Shoutouts to Disneyland for being destroyed by Heart Aino and taking it like a man. Shoutouts to Magz choking under pressure. I don't claim to do any better, FTR. Shoutouts to Tenkai for wrestling that tourney match away. I'm coming after you in May, don't you forget it. Shoutouts to the people who keep telling me to switch characters in MB. HEY GUYS, I KNOW F/LEN IS BAD, OKAY? GEEZ. :/ Shoutouts to 2GBcombo, your Millia is coming together pretty well, just keep working it. Shoutouts to Ernest for trolling my pad with your 6H in casuals. I appreciate the casuals from everybody, really. Shoutouts to me for probably playing some of my strongest GG play ever, and still going 2/2 in the tourney. Fuck this, I'm getting a stick. I need something that I can get to work on PS2 and PS3. What's a good starting stick that either does both or can be modified to both (price isn't a huge issue) -
Siegfried main over here. I might sub Zasalamel in the next game.

I think there's a combination of slidehead, double jump, and the game system favoring Potemkin in his game but not Tager respectively. What I mean regarding the system deal is the really just the difference between Okizeme and Ukemi, as minor as that be, as being one favorable and one unfavorable mechanic for the grappler. Since BB doesn't have that many "true" knockdowns, it is definitely harder to get some decent throw setups going since you don't actually know if your opponent is going to get straight up, bounce up, or roll in a direction (and when as well). Another thing is that Tager has garbage damage outside of 360's, while most all of Pot's damage is fairly decent regardless of where it came from. Finally, I think since GG is a faster game than BB, it's worth noting that it requires slightly faster reflexes to react to throw setups.

Let's see how Thursday works out, I might be able to make it for once. I'm still on the fence about Marvel. I'm really pissed they didn't bring Megaman back, and I'm not that interested in most of the cast, but it could be silly fun maybe. I guess there's Tron Bonne/Zero/Amaterasu/Phoenix/maybe Dante left in the pool of characters I'm willing to play. Can you AdHoc JP and NA versions of Dissidia 012 with the opposing version?
-
I would, but I'm waiting for the NA release like a regular person. The difference is less than a month, why couldn't you wait? Oh boy, here we go: I thought FFXII was slow, but I loved a lot of the storytelling and worldbuilding they used in the game. I had a lot of fun with FFXIII. While I didn't necessarily think the story was bad (it wasn't great), the way they told it was terrible. The gameplay seemed like an attempt to deconstruct the turn based combat system and turn it into something fun. It didn't work that well, but there's a lot of learning to be had from the experiment. More than anything, FF13 had some of the most amazing worldbuilding I've seen in a FF game, the whole universe for that game was fantastic. Get at me.

Dissidia 2 comes out end of March. Monster Hunter is probably the best thing. You can be a fag like me and play KH: Birth by Sleep (which was reasonably good). I'd recommend Phantasy Star Portable 2 to people regardless of how much of a "fan" they are. Patapon 1 & 2 are some of the best games ever. I don't fucking care what people say, they are amazing.

So apparently unlocking alternate costumes online doesn't unlock them for offline play. Or is there something I'm missing here? Can your have the relational colors unlocked in versus? -

I left my blue PS2/USB converter at SJSU. If anyone saw it or grabbed it, I'd appreciate it if they held on to it for me.
