Question about Unicorn Horn (aka FLAME SPEAR, BIZZITCH!!!): Does the input have to be exactly 6428C, or can it be something like 64128C or even something retarded like 64123698C?
-
I thought I heard a rumor floating around saying that ANG switched over to A.B.A., but can't confirm it. ANG is definitely the most technical player I've ever seen, he just doesn't have the greatest overall skill and decision-making ability that the top players have. Being able to get constant double butterflies is great when you're playing Potemkin, but there's still 22 other characters to worry about.

[CT] Carl Clover Tactical Discussion/Questions/Help
Shining Aquas replied to Alternate275's topic in Archive
Be proud Carl players. Although the character you've decided to main is indeed not likely to win matches (yet), he has probably got more potential growth and development than any other character in this game by far. -
First one: 5K. It works and looks funny as hell. If this doesn't work, you could always try the less funny but more practical 5S. Second one: Block, or get a reaction H Fuujin. Only problem with Fuujin here is you can only really do it at the maximum range of the attack, otherwise you get caught.

Fast druggie is fast. What would you say is a better option more of the time: Chase him down, or wait for an opening?
-
Yeah seriously, what's up with this? I'm not saying I don't occasionally eat it too, but the way the move is designed you would think people'd by blocking it more. Very strange. Apparently popular matchup is popular these days. I'm gonna have to breathe some life into the others.

Well I hope it comes out here, especially since there's probably a good number of us that can't play foreign PS2 games. All I know is that if Arcana Heart did badly in America, it certainly wasn't my fault cause I went out and special ordered it.
-
Possibility of American release?
-
This is the truth, and it should also be noted that there is still the option to (H)Fuujin through Blood Web on wake-up (not in the corner though, I think you still get hit)
-
Permanent lockdown? Against Anji? Not exactly possible. If your friend finds himself not able to escape the corner, it's probably because he's not taking enough calculated risks. Anji has guard point counters and H-fuujin to help him escape the corner pressure, all it involves is a little bit of precision gambling. In the corner, try to find patterns of your opponent's attacks. Look for a "punish on reaction" move, and throw out either a 236H or a well placed 6K~(GP)~K (or perhaps instead of 6K you can experiment with 5D). Of course, you could just patiently block and wait for the split moment that you can escape with.

I've been doing this for a while. If you happen to be close enough to pull off a 6P and land it, chances are the Ky player shouldn't have been using random stun edges. But I digress, it's a free counter hit into a basic bnb, so I'm not complaining.
-
In theory it sounds fine. You'd just need to train yourself to see gold bursts. Although, I wonder if while comboing someone that tries to burst out, is it possible to Tsubame under the burst?
-
So can I, but it's a lot harder to appreciate Brawl when people item spam. Wonder what would win between a Pilebunker and a Falcon Punch.... ....ah screw it, just put Jigglypuff in the center of the 2 for epic lols. Anyways, Guild Wars player is into GG now, hopefully it'll last for a while. His Venom may not be amazing, but his ball formations are picking up. I'll give him about 2 months to do whatever before trying to kick his ass again (which is actually fun. I thoroughly enjoy playing against Venom players. Matchup feels very even throughout the match) Tried hosting a small tourney for the main group (and when I mean small I mean imagine about 12 entrants, 2 of which bailed). I didn't participate since they all agreed that if I did it would be pointless, since they were all convinced I'd win no matter what (not sure whether to be happy or upset at that) All the matches were pretty damn good (except for the first one. It was painful watching a practicing Millia get raped by a semi-clueless May). The final with Axl vs Sol was incredibly close.

Yeah I saw those. He's not too bad, definitely solid on input by the looks of it. Nothing amazingly special though.

Oh shit run for cover!

Question: Been practicing the 1 frame super jump off of On, but it doesn't feel like it's possible to get the initial kick off of some characters (or rather it's much MUCH harder). I figured this is probably relevant to size and weight. Which characters is the super jump better against, and which are you just better going for standard butterfly mixups?

Big Changes In The Anji Thread!!! EVERYONE PLEASE READ!!!
Shining Aquas replied to TheSlyMoogle's topic in Anji Mito
I think they had to reset the servers because of a flash error or something. Give it time man. -
Any potential combos that end/lead into Unicorn Flame? Yes, No, or Not worth it?
-
6C is the spinning staff correct? Honestly, I'd be trying to follow that up with Straight through upper, if that's possible.

That Axl Player was insanely annoying though. He knew a good majority of the movelist for the character, but decided to just spend every match doing 2H, 6H, 2H, 6H, rinse repeat till all stains removed. He called it the "Skill Combo, because of how much skill it required" Although Slayer wasn't much better since that just turned into 2D, 2H, 2D, 2H, 2D, 2H, over and over again......which he called the "Pro combo" He would only ever play seriously if it was against me, mostly because he knew I wouldn't fall for that BS. It's a shame because he was actually pretty good, but chose to be a dick. Even during Brawl, all he does is pick the top tier characters and projectile/item spam. He likes taking people from 0-120% percent with Fan Lockdown, and claims it takes amazing talent to do. Anyways, I've been working on convincing a Guild Wars player, which actually went pretty smooth. He plays Venom/Axl.

It's only a somewhat lost cause if they decide to convert back after getting proficient at GG. I've had that happen before, apparently he came to the conclusion that "Potemkin is too stupid good and anyone using him automatically wins", to which I butterfly raped him to prove otherwise but apparently didn't seem to take. Him and his friend (who went from Axl to Slayer) decided that it was more skillful and pro to play Brawl...........with all the items on...................and only play Final Destination and Mario Bros classic. "Shudders" Almost makes me want to challenge them to a Melee no item match with Kirby just to disprove their other theory regarding tiers (in that tier alone decides the match, which I think is a load of crap). Occasionally, you will run into hopeless cases, but just remember to never call it quits before giving them a chance. Maybe I can put some GG life back into the group if I hosted a small tourney or something...

I think it wouldn't be wise to assume that only certain people have the affinity to play Guilty Gear, because I honestly think it's a game that can be played well by anyone who wants to be good, and it always starts with the person getting into the game. Don't assume that only the most initially competent players are capable of winning, hell I've seen a guy play Dance Dance Revolution with ONE LEG. Miracles happen people. I good majority of people I've "converted" over to GG so to speak fell into one of 3 groups: 1)"OMG Supa Smash Bros BRAWL is teh greatest fighting game ever NOOB." 2)"Dude, why would I ever want to play anything other than WOW? Are you retarded, WOW is the best game ever." 3)"Nah, I don't really like fighting games, they're kinda repetitive you know, especially since all of them are practically the same" Sometimes people need a little push before they can get their ball rolling.

.......................nope, I've got nothing. First of all, it really helps to know the actual person, and what they like to see/hear. For each person, I've tried a different approach. For a group, I simply turned it on, put it on 2 Player, told them to go nuts, walked away for about 10 minutes, and then played one match about 10 minutes later destroying someone with incredibly flashy Anji. They were all looking at me like I just broke the universe or something, and before I knew it I practically had a growing cult. It even managed to attract someone who generally hates fighting games, and now he's the second best in our group using Potemkin. As for individuals, it helps to make the game sound good particularly to them. Speak with enthusiasm, talk about the best pros of the game, and in some cases try comparing it to other games they might be playing (if you can). I had a friend whom I managed to convince to try out the game after having a 25 minute conversation about both Super Smash Bros and then Starcraft, and managed to find a middle ground in the conversation to open up GG: "It's got more solid gameplay elements than Brawl with less Meta Knight bullshit, mostly because like Starcraft everyone is incredibly well balanced" "Huh sounds neat, I'll look it up" "Tell you what, I'll just bring it in tomorrow and show you." "Oh, okay cool" He is now one of the few people I know that had the balls to play Venom (no pun intended) Hell, I was even able to get my younger sister into Guilty Gear (a girl playing GG, ZOUNDS!), and she actually plays a fairly competent Millia. So to get people into the game, you need to find a way to make it interesting to them. Also, try to introduce them into the game like you would any other, let them experiment and if they ask questions feel free to answer them.

I try to teach people the game, but it seems easier for me simply because most of the people I know are really good at processing high levels of information easily. It's also easy to get people interested in GG by comparing it to other fighting games and explaining the main positives to GG, for me that mostly entails the sheer level of variety in the characters and the playing styles, and also the degree of balanced gameplay that makes the game more fair than most. It seems to be working because I've gotten well over 20 people into Guilty Gear, and at least 8 of them went out and bought Accent Core afterwards. I feel that I'm doing okay for not having ever touched the series until Accent Core.

Don't know if it's relevant, but a backwards ground throw can link into 41236D~A and then to whatever you want.
