Fuck me, I left my entire PS3 bag at Gamecenter. I won't be able to practice P4A until NCI. -

Circumstances out of my control won't allow me to make midnight. I will be at the event later in the day though, probably closer to 10 AM, if lucky. -

I can't wait to see someone die at the NOS charity event. How many people are actually planning to show up at midnight? -

Someone's gonna die to this shit. I know we like to talk about being immortalized on the stream, but I don't think this is the way to do it. -

I guess I probably be practicing for the August NCI, but PSO2 got released. So, I'm gone. -
Wow, okay. Boost dash cancelling stops the entire beam shot namely cancelling out the beam, but not with dash cancelling. However, in the video he was doing jump cancels instead, which is not something I understand. Is he doing a dash cancel and immediately hopping to get that result? Also, thank you, I learned a few things outside the weird cancel.

Early shoutouts to Norcal edition: 80% Mitsuru, Chie, Kanji, and Yu. -
Just don't drop the soap. It's been fun. I will challenge anyone to a game of Dominion...if I end up going to Fanime. Also, I don't recall it being that bad. Every time I've gone, there's usually a lot of leeway with the Game Managers if you are polite and civil about it. The impression I got was that if there's a cabinet setup for it, you can't hook up a console for it. Actual setups didn't seem problematic as long as you moved for TO's, understood that Fanime wasn't responsible for your stuff, and followed said cabinet-console rule. Last time I went was two years ago (Team Arcsys Q&A) and they didn't have a problem with me introducing people to Arcana Heart (1) and doing a full play-through of Megaman X4. So unless the policies have really changed in the last year, I can't imagine it being a big deal.

I can't make it, sorry to say. $15 says my internet is worse than yours though. -

I'm not 100% sure I'll be able to make NCI this month. Combination of school and mother's day prep might be too much. -
How about just "Gamecenter's Gundam Gear Exhibition"? Nothing tricky there. Honestly doesn't matter what the event is called so long as people show up. We also need something resembling a more regular lineup, because I'm currently only seeing GG and Extreme VS. with maybe Melty Blood. Unless that's all you want.

Norcal Throwback (NCT) or Norcal Classic (NCC) [idea is that the tournament seems to focus on older NCI games that can't fit in the NCI rotation anymore] "Name of Month"'s Decide the Destiny (ex: April's Decide the Destiny) [title might be too focused on HnK] Gamecenter's Guilty Gundam Gathering (G4, or GGGG) Norcal's Thrashing Pit Ultimate in Norcal Arena [might not be a good idea since we probably won't be showcasing P4U, as that's a NCI thing] Norcal Generations Tournament / Norcal Genesis Tournament (NCG) San Mateo Strife Heat Knuckle Meltdown Gundam Gear Extreme That's all I've got for now. I can probably make the event.

There are a ton of PC budget fighters out there, and by budget I mean mostly free. As far as the newest console stuff is concerned, most of it is just expensive. Gotta save up dat cash. If you want something new, Skullgirls comes out in about a week at $15 on PSN.

I think everything that needs to be said about SNCI (as well as a few things that weren't entirely needed) have been said and acknowledged. The overall consensus is that great times were had, but there's plenty of room for improvement. Let's move forward here. The big issue that currently stands to me is the holding of the next NCI. April is within about a week's time, which means the predetermined date for April NCI is supposedly in 11 days. Are we delaying it, skipping it, or meeting again in barely over a week's time? I don't care which of these is the case, so long as that decision is fully followed and jumped on, and soon. Consider the following: Skullgirls is "supposedly" coming out in April. It may be beneficial to either delay or skip April NCI to wait for Skullgirls release, while simultaneously planning out our new schedule of games with Skullgirls in it. NCI has on a number of occasions been a decent outlet for the stream to see Skullgirls in action before release, and this is an opportunity to be one of the first tournaments to have Skullgirls post-release. Alternatively, run NCI like normal, first Saturday of the month. If that's the decision, then it would be worth it to use this NCI as an experiment. Since this one is so close to SNCI, I don't expect the turnout to be all that impressive (but it's a bit hard to tell since it hasn't been solidified as a date), but with fewer people it might be a good idea to try using as much of the previously mentioned criticism towards the next NCI to see how it runs. So that leads to things like: 1) Stricter Time Enforcement - Got to uphold the deadlines stronger. We usually talk about NCI having registration start roughly around 12:00-12:30, but then the tourney doesn't start until around 2:30-3:00. If people are really showing up that late, we just have to cut them. It sucks, but I don't see any other way to run everything on time. If registration starts at 12, we really should have tournies started by 1:30 at the latest. It doesn't take that long to set up a bracket, especially with computers. 2) Ramen Run Restrictions - I completely agree that the food run thing is ruining a lot of tournies. At the very least, people have started being more courteous about telling the TO's, but we might need to go beyond that. I'm in favor of plan "tell them to wait until after the tournament", but maybe we could also try "Give me your phone number and I'll call you when your next match comes up" or possibly "You only have about X minutes to get food, and if you aren't back by then I'm DQ'ing you". 3) Which Games are Really Important? - I love GG and it's probably one of the biggest reasons I come, but I do agree that the numbers are lower than I'd like. At no point do I think it should ever be given up, but side tourney status may be realistic in the near future. What does that leave us with exactly? BBCSE, SC5, KOF13, Cat, and Gundam are the current lineup (+GG). I support the motion to remove Catherine 100%, and taking out SC5 makes sense given how well that scene is sustaining. I don't know about moving Gundam to side tournament or not, if anything I feel that game is growing in popularity as people try it. So with the future looking like SG and P4U, our lineup is still at least 4 games, 5 if we keep either GG or Gundam. In this regard, I feel like waiting for Skullgirls to come out might be good for us to get a feel for tournament length with SG. P4U doesn't come out until summer, so we have some time to work these things out, but the sooner we implement SG in the better. Ultimately, I just hope everyone that's coming is enjoying themselves. Lots of us will get salty from time to time, but the appeal is in the fun games we play and the people we play with. We're all here to show off our grinded out training modes and get some solid matches in, while learning new things in the process. We're also here to meet with folks that we don't see on an everyday (or everyweek) basis; NCI is the event that pulls us all together to hang, chill, and reunite under common ground, which in this case is the NOS-covered floor of Myung's establishment. NCI is a big deal to some of us, and I just want to see it improve and grow like any major event. Hopefully some hard decisions will be made soon, and we can aim to make the next NCI perfect. Also, I think I left my PS2 at Gamecenter. It's a thin silver with a modded flip-top. -

Crazy ass weekend, my throat is gone. Time for shoutouts. Shoutouts to Chun for organizing the event, and to Myung for holding it in his "crib". Shoutouts to Nos Bucket. Shoutouts to Gundam Extreme VS, "how the fuck do I play this game" edition. Shoutouts to Dacidbro for blocking the stream with his hair. Shoutouts to KFC supporting the minority in a time of need. Shoutouts to everyone that drove/flew over here from uncomfortably far to play some fighting games. Special shoutout to Mike Z for bringing Skullgirls. Shoutouts to the GG tournament, setting a new record for number of upsets in a single tourney. Shoutouts to Solex for playing probably the most fun match of BB I've ever had in a tournament this year. Shit was special. Shoutouts to never having to stay up late on account of Catherine ever again. Shoutouts to actually hooking up a Dreamcast and playing something other than CvS1. Shoutouts to everyone I played casuals with, and all the advice that was given to me for the sake of improvement. Great games everybody, I'm in serious need of sleep. -

My HD monitor that I bring every time (and never gets used) has a jack for external speaker plug-in, as well as basic lagless HDMI support. To compliment it, I also have two nice speakers and a connecting sub woofer with easily adjustable volume and bass. All that, and I'll be there all day for both days. I'm not sure what more you need.
