2S has EVEN MORE range? On top of the better recovery? *Drools* I remember seeing that air-throw range nerf mentioned before, but it wasn't listed in the wiki so I was sort of confused on whether it was still in. Also, don't forget her guts was dropped from 2 to 1.

I don't know if I'd consider it to be quite that good, but yeah, FB Sidewinder gives Sol lots of new starters/setups. His j.P is amazing and should combo into FB Sidewinder, so random air-to-ground "I'ma beat your 6P", and air-to-air "I did something faster" should work. Also, I'm pretty sure that FBs don't prorate meter gain like FRCs do (please correct me if I'm wrong), so it'll be more efficient than the flashy Bandit Revolver FRC j.D Bandit Revolver loops. What do people think about Dizzy's needle FB?

Wait... does that thing curse you on block, or is it an unblockable move that he can combo off of? I haven't seen much Testie play.

I'd rather mash buttons with Sol than spend 30 seconds learning how to play Kliff at high level (or a full minute learning Faust, which is sad because I really like Faust outside of his gameplay). So, what does everyone think is the best forcebreak in the game now?

I feel like one of the conditions for rushdown should be "not using options that are strictly defensive". Using Riot Stomp to avoid getting thrown/bursted/DP'd, while a silly move, is rushdown because you're dodging those things by attacking instead of by blocking or backdashing. But this is my brain on 80+ hours of work per week for an amount of time that I can't remember. There was a meteorite that hit Russia and a bombing at a Marathon recently right? And then GG was supposed to come out but hasn't yet. That's my brain right now. : V

Give I-No a shot. Step 1: Get your pulse racing. Step 2: Stroke the Big Tree a lot. Step 3: Crank your tension to the max. Step 4: Burst in their face.

Since Omega shift lets Justice jump cancel all ground normals and jump/dash cancel all air normals, shouldn't she have absurd pressure/mixup and combos that are nearly unburstable when using it (just jump > block > reset off of ANYTHING)? Pichy, I noticed you posted some good info since you're playing the Vita version. Do you think you could compile a gatling chart for Justice since the wiki doesn't have that info yet? No rush or anything. I'm just wondering if 2K > 6P > 2D and similar stuff works. (Also just noticed that her 2K is listed as an overhead in the wiki?)

Dammit Testament! Can anyone translate the text for us?

Guilty Bits video series- Official thread
TheRealBobMan replied to tataki's topic in Guilty Gear General
I second MSong's idea. As a bonus, even newbs that lack the experience to comment can feel like they participated by finding links to good !current! matches that Novril can pull footage from to highlight what people agree is important to include. It helps foster community involvement. -
Guilty Bits video series- Official thread

"You're definitely going to have a hard time because the community simply doesn't want anyone around..." Please don't say something like this. "And suddenly i remember why I don't post here anymore or attempt to actually help people even though I do have the ability and the "resources"." Then why bother posting that? If you have the time and resources to help people, please do it. Don't let an argument on the internet between people that aren't you dictate what you do. -
I played this for the first time a few weeks ago with my boss. I tried it twice more since then and wound up buying it last night since it's so cool. I don't really have time to play anything at the moment anyway, but it'll be refreshing to play this when I want to take my mind off of not having +R yet. Looking forward to mastering Victor's ass.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that Force Breaks and Overdrives don't prorate your meter gain like RCs/FRCs, Faultless, and Dead Angles. So while you're not hitting I-No's max damage when you use FBdive, you get better meter than with HCL combos. You can also use it in the corner for some easy "unburstable" damage when you don't have 50% for Fortissimo. Cancel after the first hit into 2-3 VCLs since it'd be suicide to burst that high off the screen and give I-No a reset like that. *edit* About HCL's hitbox. I think I saw it beat Sol's 2D out of the gate in a video that was uploaded to Goldenrody's channel within the last few weeks. Not sure exactly when since the days are bleeding together right now because of my work schedule. It could have been within the last month or the last 2 days. DERP But yeah, you can't crouch under it at point blank range anymore.

When did they say console release? It's the Vita release on the 24th (or whenever it was).
-
Is there anything about it that's not good aside from the 80% forced prorate?

Get that 10/10 repro and fill out a crash report. I'm more frustrated that I don't have random music select on PS3 for the times that I can go 50 straight matches against the CPU without a crash than I am about usually crashing every 10 games. *Sigh*

If she can't actually cancel the move with an airdash, she can just use "stop" and dash out of it. It's like a 1-frame difference. But yes. This is probably the best FB in the game now. Corner-to-corner push, restores jump options, some invincibility, cancels at any point during frames 6-60 without spending extra meter, which is quick enough to pull off 50/50 mixups like using her j.D but without the gap in block-pressure, lvl 4 move (dat blockstun and GB+ when setting up mixups). It's just insane.

Hm... I guess I need to revise what I look at as hard/easy. Even though you sort of need to learn a little of what everyone can do in order to use them effectively, I figured Baiken's counters helped out newer players on defense. I'd say you can learn to use those a little faster than you can learn to do stuff like IB > Backdash or SB certain kinds of traps. Everyone has to adjust how they pressure you, which should make it easier to defend yourself, and give you more opportunities to learn other kinds of skills. Now that I'm thinking about it, a majority of the Baikens I play against don't even use her counters. Maybe I expect too much out of players who are just starting out? I guess most players start learning with "what buttons do I press to do lots of damage?" rather than thinking about "how does zoning and oki and mixup work in this game?"
-
Oh yeah, how could we forget Testament?

I would also say May, and to a lesser extent, Jam and Baiken. Play around between those 6 and see what fits your playstyle most.

[AC+] PSN Match Finder/GG Thread
TheRealBobMan replied to Kurushii's topic in Guilty Gear Online Play
No mention of The Book of Five Spheres? No Flow? What about Blink? It's not as information based but it's more of an enjoyable read anyway. What about The Art of War? I also recently found out about The Art of Learning, which was written by a pro chess player that quit to become a martial artist or something, so I'm looking forward to picking that up. Also, I probably wont be on PSN for the next 4-6 weeks because crunch time hit hard at work. At least I'll be too tired to complain about not having +R yet. -
[AC+] PSN Match Finder/GG Thread
TheRealBobMan replied to Kurushii's topic in Guilty Gear Online Play
Start reading the matchup forum threads of other characters for what their matchup vs Baiken looks like. That should tell you what they want to do to you and what they're afraid of you doing. Or at least start you in that direction. -
As much as I want random music select and for the game to stop crashing when a CPU does reactive super reversal to end a round, it's not worth it to pay for certification to fix stuff like that when they're going to release a patch sometime soon anyway. Although those super related crashes are ****ing stupid. Put me on the QA team ArcSys!

I actually saw people on destructoid or joystiq or some news website saying that Lab Zero offering their engine to this dev team is extortion. People are just that dumb.
