  1. NO, SHUT UP Well, I suppose I didn't intend to suggest a 100% zoning strategy, since it seems like nobody is capable of that anymore. I called her the new Nu, but even Lambda isn't the new Nu. So I guess ignore that. Also, I'm no expert on rushdowns, but I figure as long as you can run in with some decent high/low games, Rachel's rushdown will be alright. And I think I've seen that in videos. It's just that while waiting for a rushdown opportunities you have to know how to throw around her various ranged attacks correctly. Ah... no. The pumpkin let her run in with impunity and j2c had an obnoxious habit of being completely safe for her even on block. These were both infuriating things.
  2. Looks like the Rachel player base is going to be changing completely, huh? I'm strictly a Tager player, but I've always liked Rachel as a character, so I was a tidbit concerned when it seemed like her nerfs might have been overkill. While I agree what she could do in CT was retarded, I also didn't want to see one of my favorite story characters get buried. I've had a chance to see a good amount of recent Rachel playing by people who have seem to figure her out, and (obviously) she's taken a turn towards projectile spam. Thing is? This doesn't bother me in the least bit. To be perfectly honest, when I first picked her up in CT, I initially felt that, based off of her multitudinous projectile and "landmine" moves, that this is exactly how she could be played. But, then everyone figured out that she, due to bad design, was better of just fishing for a counter-fork, pushing the opponent into the corner, and then doing the blockstring from hell. This of course turned her into a rushdown character immediately, with her projectiles basically just supplementing both the rushdown and the corner bullshit. Now, I feel like she's been retooled to be what she was initially intended to be: projectile spam. What's more, I feel like that tactic fits her personality the most, where she just plays keep-away and laughs at you. So I actually welcome our new (more balanced) Nu with open arms. Hell, I might even pick her up once I get the game.
  3. It should be fairly obvious that I favor massive soviet damage characters, but I've found it's a bit more complex than that. In general, I favor characters that can do the largest amount of damage in the shortest amount of time. In fighting games, this winds me up with characters like Pot and Tager, of course. It extends outside of fighting games though, in ways you wouldn't expect. Like, TF2 for example. You'd think I'd go for the Heavy or something, but instead I play classes like the Spy (lots of time waiting, short bursts of backstabby instant-death) or the Demoman (a bit less time waiting, short bursts of explody often-instant death). So basically if patience = humongous damage, then I'll play that.
  4. "oh but I could just do X" is always great in theory but tends to ignore the fact that such things typically require some foresight which you might not always have. Now if this were some kind of RPG where you could pause everything and input commands, that'd be a different story. That'd be a funny game...
  5. Haha, typed my name into YouTube out of curiosity and found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9x7E_zBRj-M Since somebody else posted it I'm losing of course. Man, I tend to not take advantage of random hits sometimes, since I don't expect them. Also man did I screw up that spark bolt bounce. I like the parts where the video zooms in. I wish the game did that, haha. "ATOMIC COLLIDER" ::connect:: ::zoom in on hand:: ::zoom in on ground:: This guy is definitely super-good, but I'm really surprised he threw out that random spinny at 2:43. That's some stupid bullshit I'd do. Didn't even have the meter to cancel it on block.
  6. So many players come flying at me towards the end of the match, regardless of who's health is low. They'll never learn that that's prime spinny time, which means either instant win or a solid turn-around for me, depending on the circumstances. I need to get better at 720ing on wakeup though, simply because I'm sure that's even more mortifying.
  7. And hey, on top of Nu nerfs, it should be much easier to get in on her and maintain control of the fight. Don't know about Rachel and Arakune though. Still, I can't help but feel a decent tier boost coming on.
  8. I love it. You just keep bitchslapping until they finally neutral tech like you want. They have no damn choice. Then it's straight on to mind games. Can't wait for gadget finger. We'll have sledge to force them into neutral tech reset after stuff like AC like normal, plus we can force them back to neutral AND get magnetism after even more stuff like 360s, or even some places where we might have sledged before. No more having to guess if they'll roll or not.
  9. Want a handjob while we're at it? Why in gods name are you taking my title seriously?

  10. I played Potemkin. It's a no-brainer.
