  1. If you and Papstr are riding together, how will he not be there in time for Blazblue? For ease of everyone, I'm just going to get my dad to drive. Assemblying/Reassemblying the chair four times in one day is tedious. If Papstr cancels for whatever reason for one event, I'll catch a ride with you. Thanks for the effort, Chandler.
  2. Dude from Memphis is coming up, possibly bringing Cyner. So that's Me, you, Papstr, Milln, Falcon, and possibly Cyner. I'll have to check and see how easy it is to take the executive chair apart. It might take screws, but I don't know yet. I'll post up in a few.
  3. Yeah, and the problem with putting it in the back is that Papstr wouldn't have any room. Those chairs take up the entire backseat. It's all good. I'll still make it Saturday.
  4. It might have to be Papstr because it's hard for me to get in the backseat. ijs If you find out that your Mustang's trunk can fit a chair similar to mine, I'll pm you address details. I have a feeling though that it'll look like this... lol
  5. Do you drive a van or car? I've never seen you leave a MTNG event. lol
  6. I could actually go to dinner with you guys if I hitched a ride with one of you. But, Chandler is the only one that passes through my way on the interstate. Plus, it's always impossible to tell if someone's car can hold the executive chair without trying it first.
  7. Chandler, I was trying to save you the headache of bringing all of the recording equipment and trying to get it all hooked up in those tight spaces. It's hard to predict which tv's we'll get to use. If we use ASUS monitors, I don't think there is room for the laptop on those small stands. The big CRT we used a few months ago was ok. The vewlix (yes, that is spelled correctly, lol) might be tough for you to set up. It's your choice. I was just suggesting stuff.
  8. Can we just record finals this time? The arcade is cramped as it is, and having a commentator stand directly over you can be distracting. Star's commentating is definitely underrated though. He did great when Pickle held the cell phone for recording in the arcade a few months ago.
  9. Thought of Captain America instantly.
  10. I had you TWICE in two different matches, but tried to get fancy by rc'ing the punch of MTW. Never again. Seriously though, you were on your game last night. Cheap-ass Noel shenanigans... I just played bad last night. The night before though, I was in rape mode. "Blame it on three thr-thr-three three hour class" (get the reference and I'll buy you a cookie) last night before I got on. It's killer. It was still too fun. Double gold burst into 720. Ridiculously close matches. Ragna shenanigans. Noel's freestylin' combos.
  11. Venue fee is only $5 this time around. Jason wanted me to remind you all. That means, I can MM someone if they want. $_$
  12. The new Falcon guy is pretty darn good. His Ragna is better than his Jin (at least, in my opinion). I look forward to meeting him Saturday. MTNG always needs new people.
  13. The MTN metagame has remained stagnant. Astaroth is still overpowered. XD
  14. When I asked how it will look/be cleaned up... Storage will be completely cleaned up. Pretend it's another arcade, with AC working, lol...and people need wristbands.
  15. Jason, the owner of the arcade, just posted this on SRK. It sounds like a good idea. We will have a once a month tournament in the storage area now to also be opened to the public known as the Game Galaxy Retro Arcade Museum which will be open once a month on Saturdays (first one Oct 29) in conjunction with Milln's tourney running at the same time....more announcements and press release coming for that. Essentially the $10 cover charge will get you free play and cover charge into the tournaments where you will only need to pay entry fees...
  16. I wish the two middle TN scenes would somehow combine. There are plenty of great SF/MVC3 players that I've had the pleasure of meeting, whereas most of you guys have never even seen them. Of course, the problem is the vast differences of preferred games. I agree with Tad. It would be terrible for our scene to slowly die off. A change of venue can be good, but don't forget that it can be detrimental too. If it's a further drive for a few people, you can almost guarantee that their attendance will slowly drop. I know in my case, if this new venue is more than an hour away from my house, I won't make it nearly as often (personal circumstances of course, and I commend Chandler and Papstr for making it out every month). Best case scenario is getting to choose between a few venues and asking everyone how this will affect their commute. Then we can look at venue fees, space, etc.
  17. I've played BB for the lawls for quite a few months now. At this point, Marvel and 3S are more fun to me. Don't get me wrong, BB is fun with you guys. I just don't play it in my offtime. And even though we're having the tournaments in the arcade, it shouldn't instantly put you all into emo mode. There are chairs and stools (and the Tekken bench) throughout, so don't assume you'll be standing for 8 hours. Someone can bring an extra setup (possibly two if you talk to Richard or Jason), because there are unused ASUS monitors next to the Tekken machine. If you get bored, spend a few quarters on some classic arcade action. Recording can be minimized to finals and grand finals using Milln's or someone else's cell phones.
  18. Jesus, I hate awkward moments in public.
  19. The MK arcade machine is custom-built with a 360 inside. It can download patches. I've been to many tournaments in the arcade, so I guess I'm used to it by now. The thing that bothers me the most is that some of the arcade machines are too loud, so you have to yell if you're standing near the loud ones. The other thing that I find stupid is when people walk around the arcade with a big-ass backpack on their back. Set it down in the corner or something instead of killing everyone around you.
  20. Chandler, you haven't seen cramped until you've been in there with 50+ people. Last Saturday, AE had 32 people, MK had 12, and Marvel had about 18. I walked outside a few times just to get some air. It won't be too bad, but it certainly will be different.
  21. I haven't really read up on the nuances of brave and critical edges, but seeing long gameplay footage showed that they work smoothly. I was afraid that adding "supers" in Soul Calibur would make it gimmicky (much like the guest characters), but the devs did a very nice job on making it fit. However, this adds more balance issues. A brave edge that is easily hit-confirmable and can ringout from afar needs to be looked at carefully. As for the ship levels, I've always liked those. Throwing opponent's overboard in the ______ water is a blast. Cass/Soph levels also stand out. Lizardman's lair was hilarious in SC4. Giant lizards holding giant utensils...
  22. Ohhhhhh man. Our rivalry resumes! Money? No. This will be a FT10 tv/car/soul match.
