  1. Those of you who love creating characters, SC5 is the game for you. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GAZTv_7yxoA&feature=channel_video_title
  2. I forgot to shoutout to the Memphis crew. Thank all of you guys for coming up and supporting us. Also, Pickle, thanks for the laughs and the commentary.
  3. SHOUTOUTS!!!!! Milln - You already know how much we all appreciate and respect you. I can't wait for next year's tournaments. Chandler - Very nice job taking first coming from losers brackets. The few times I've managed that, it was extremely satisfying. I know you're humble and all that jazz, but pat yourself on the back. You deserve it, and you've come a long way. Volpe - After you left on lagbox live last week, I told Chandler and Naimat that you had gotten much better. I could see it even through the lag. Great job on leveling up and putting everyone in their place. My only advice: bring your defense up a bit and stop relying on counters so much. Great Hakumen players don't guess much with counters... they know it will work. LSS - GGs in the tournament. Our matches are always really close. It's great playing you when you aren't at a handicap with a 360 pad. Naimat - GGs in the tournament, even though we both played derpy. If you don't get into BB seriously, I expect you to really grind in UMvC3. It sounds like you're really interested in it, and so am I. Just a few weeks left... Tad - Always good hanging out with you. GGs in the 3S money matches. Wakeup supers are hilarious... until you fully parry them. Still can't believe that... Zeno - GGs to you as well in 3S. It was fun parrying tatsus in the air over and over. LOL Doro - We didn't play anything, but we fully discussed Ultimate with Naimat. We three will dominate in that game and take Boomcube's throne. AzurePhoenix - AWESOME PLAT! Keep in touch on here so we can get some games in next time. Klein - You hid in the guilty gear corner, and I don't blame you. JamsLegs - Taokaka? First time I played against Tao in months. GGs in the tournament, and thanks for coming up. KO - People can't handle the biggies! You'll love watching Hulk in Ultimate Marvel. He got buffed! LOLOLOL Fapstr Papstr - We actually went one tournament without playing each other?! Impossible. Vocal Sabre - You are Volpe's friend, right? That hoodie you made was beyond godlike. I demand a hoodie or t-shirt with Tager. I think that's everyone. If I missed you, send me some hatemail.
  4. L.S.S. is one letter away from L.S.D. Naimat sounds like "dammit" or "Namek" if pronounced wrong. Chandler is a character from Friends. Milln is Mulan. Fapstr. Calvin Klein. Bastard-roth. These are things that run through my head in my 3-hour night class of history.
  5. From what I've tried, some of Haku's combos have tighter windows than what you'd expect. I've heard a few other people say the same thing too.
  6. Boomcube did play AzurePhoenix and even reported it. But, this was before Star jumped in. Things might have been switched. Terminator pinball was holding my attention at the time. lol
  7. Did you actually watch Seth Killian's overview of the character, or did you come in here to bash on people's opinions? In the video, he was trying to level up so many times that it was annoying. The whole time, I was thinking, "Wow, this better be worth it if it takes this long." Then, once he FINALLY got all four levels, it looked pretty underwhelming. Sorry that my opinions didn't match yours. EDIT In an actual match, two pictures were taken resulting in two level ups. Not sure what the odds are of leveling up or if there are certain conditions met. Nonetheless, if it averages to be that fast, then it is worth it.
  8. While Frank West's leveling up is a bit different, I see no reason to use him over PW. PW does it faster and better. Although, West does have an anti-air super...
  9. Again, it wasn't about you all's skills. It was more of me thinking, "I'm comfortable in these matchups. I've played them plenty and I know how to handle them with Tager." As soon as it was said, I knew how it was perceived though. Gave a little extra drive to you guys too. This may have been before I knew you jumped in the tournament last minute, or I just forgot. Either way, the Noel matchup doesn't scare me. As for Azure, he was a very solid player that I expected in top 3, and this expectation stemmed from NOBODY having experience against Plat. Luckily, I have played more than a hundred matches against a great Plat online (the Tager mod, in fact), so he's shown me nearly everything. I know her best and worst weapons, blockstrings and mixups, and where to punish. For example, the only thing she can do out of a blocked 2C is heartcar, which is punishable. That said, I still wanted to play him to see how it went.
  10. Milln reminded me that I did say "If I can take Naimat's Bang out, I'll win the tournament." That should show how fearful I was in that matchup and how confident I felt against Haku and Ragna. It wasn't a statement of players' skills, but instead was a testament of my matchup experience.
  11. I haven't really looked at the calendar and looked into the dates yet. This morning, I also thought about how Milln brings most of the TVs for us, while I have none to bring. On top of that, I have to find two concerts to attend this month for my Music class, and the free ones usually happen on the weekends. Jason (the guy who owns most of those arcade machines for those who don't know) might be planning something for Ultimate anyway. I'll update you all regularly through the weeks. Shoutouts still in reserve. My head is throbbing...
  12. I'll do my shoutouts later. I just wanted to say a few things. Chandler did indeed get three of four perfects on me in losers finals, yet the set was still 3-2. Tad is the ONLY person I've seen to fully parry Hugo's Hammer Mountain (haven't even seen the Japanese do it yet in a real match). Volpe showed you all how to level up. Aaaaaand, don't forget, I'm offering to run a November tournament if Jason doesn't already have one planned.
  13. @Star: I thought you had a 360 and a copy of BB. I didn't know you borrowed or rented it. As for the fightstick thing, Tad might have one you can borrow. Just ask around on here. Who knows... someone might not be using theirs at the moment. @Clarksville dude: Who are you? And, we're usually not like this. lol
  14. I also want to take a minute to say that EVERYONE has improved. Papstr's Ragna really surprised me two months ago (he didn't enter the last one due family stuff iirc). Volpe's Hakumen blows my mind more and more, and I can't wait to see how he fares tomorrow. Naimat has seemed to wipe the salty sweat and focus more in his matches. I've seen Milln do real Jin combos, and he's worked on his game. Chandler came out of nowhere, going from free to consistently placing high in just a few months. Tad picked up Valk and started going toe-to-toe with me instantly. Star placed 3rd in MWC, which can't be forgotten. Doro has gone in a different direction. Not in skill of course, but in game choice. It's amazing how many characters he plays in Marvel, and he's blown my mind on his improvements through the months (even though we still can't beat Boomcube).
  15. Damn... a lot happened while I was out. I'm gonna have to agree with Milln on this one, Star. I mean, I'm pretty sure you yourself has said, "It's just Chandler and Astaroth at this point." You demand more competition/training from the more lighthearted players, yet you refuse to learn stick or 360 (I do believe you've at least tried to get a decent converter, but have had bad luck or no money). I traveled 4+ hours to FR last year without even having PS3 pad experience and placed decently. Did I make execution errors? Of course. Did I let it stop me from having a great time with everyone? Not at all. You would have a decent shot at these tournaments if you sat down in training every once in a while with a 360 pad. On the other hand, if you're so "hardcore," learn a stick. Why demand and hype up more competition when you can't even beat the current competition?
  16. I'll definitely be going again. UMvC3, BB, and Soul Calibur 5 galore. I recommend getting there on a Thursday though. That saves a lot of hassle and headache.
  17. If you ever do travel all the way down to TN, bring Axis with you. Better yet, you guys should save up to go to Final Round. On another note, I dreamed that the retro arcade was HUGE, and that we had a ton of people there. Mike Z and Kyle even entered BB. Crazy ass dreams.
  18. Yep, GG's to Chandler, Naimat, Doro, and Volpe. Sorry I was playing like ass. Not sure if it was rust, a bad night, or what. Volpe, I always underestimate your Haku. Even though you have worse-than-AOL internet, your Haku is still legit. Can't wait to play you Saturday.
  19. Nah, it wasn't spam. I only saw one notification anyway. What time can you get on tonight?
  20. You win. Yeah, sorry I didn't play last night. My friends called me, demanding that I get on some Gears. I'll be on Blazblue the next few nights though.
  21. I'm dressing up as Milln for Saturday. The hat, the overshirt with t-shirt underneath, the ponytail, and some pants.
  22. Hmmmm, a week before the next tournament. Time for Chandler and me (yes, that's grammatically correct) to have late night Brazbru sessions. We laugh too much to even concentrate. All others are invited, of course.
  23. Will Soul Calibur 5 have a tournament, assuming it does come out in its January release date?
