SBO qual notables: SF4 China Block - Air-Plane-Boy (Ryu) / Xiaohai (Sagat) / Dakou (???) KOF98 legends team?! GGAC B-4 Block - Shounen (Testament) / RF (Faust) / Ogawa (Eddie) RF said at a previous SBO that GGAC can't be won without top tiers. Still, this team is too much! B-1 Block - MOV (Chun-Li) / Kuroda (Ken) / Nitto (Yun) Kuroda playing a top tier character, meaning everybody else can just go home... B-2 Block - KO (Yang) / Ochibi (Yun) / Tokido (Chun-Li) ... or maybe KO will FINALLY win it! 6 different characters at least are being repped for SBX, meaning no less than 60% percent of the cast is being used. Such game balance! 7/11 Qualifier - Toutanki (T.Hawk) / K (O.Hawk) / Yoshimura (Dhalsim) What is this I don't even KKK tier running the show in KOF13. Is KOF13's KKK more entertaining than AH1's KKK tier? Both games are about ridiculous loop combos, but at least one of them involves the combos ending in less than 30s. BlazByuu Continuous Shi* F-1 Block - Gekiwa (Bang) / Mikami (Litchi) F-2 Block - Shirapi (Litchi) / Shingo (Bang) F-3 Block - Makoto (Bang) / Naoya (Litchi) Nothing more needs to be said. EDIT: 5/30 Qualifier - Aniken (Ken) / Otochun (Chun-Li) / Shooting D (Ryu) 5/9 Qualifier - Gian (Dhalsim) / Kurahashi (Ryu) / Yuu Vega (Bison) Stacked like wtf

Not sure where I got the Pakistan thing from, I think I just overheard it from somewhere and didn't fact check it myself. Serves me right! In any case, I really never have heard of him before. Interesting that they're going through him and not some Europe/US guy, though. Random time: Gundemonium Recollection features a boss that is pretty damn hard. For one, in that game you have a huge fat character sprite who has (for an STG) a fairly big hitbox (it's not just one pixel). The enemy bullets are also quite fat. This boss has multiple phases, and get this, HEALS WHEN BOMBED. That's right, if you push the panic button, you may actually find yourself in more trouble than before. So I hit on this idea: the bomb I'm using has a limited area of effect, and whenever you use a bomb, it refills the gauge for your powerful secondary weapon (in addition to killing all enemy bullets on the screen). So at one of the late phases of the boss fight, I'd burn my secondary, fly up to bomb in a spot where it won't hit, fly in and blow secondary, etc. It was already like the 4th section of the stage, and stages only have 4 sections. Then the stage meter refills, the boss comes back into the screen after blowing up, and spits hell everywhere. I have to admit, the surprise made me laugh.

If you have to take it apart, take photos at every step so that you have a documented trail of what you did. Get buckets for each of the different screws so that you don't lose them. There's really no general formula for it since laptop construction varies quite a bit from one manufacturer to the next.

The price isn't bad, but I don't like buying any mouse that I can't hold. You might want to go check out a Dell store and see if they have an open one for you to play with before you purchase it. Nothing about its features or specs will trump whether or not a given mouse is actually comfortable in your hands. Also, though it might match your Alienware m11x, it looks like a gaming mouse designed for desktops... so it might be a little big for mobile/anywhere use.

Probably already posted in BB section of DL: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCtdBfdGOtU So Valken-whatever's drive button activates werewolf transformation from which he can pretend to be Talbain and juggle the opponent with 8-way torpedo. That also means he can probably run the hell away like Choi with 8-way torpedo. @#*! Choi. Dunno fast/slow the transformation gauge gets restored. More interesting: http://nesica.net/ A hilariously long name for this service, it's basically digital distro of games for arcade operators. They pay some service fee and hook up their machines to a server box, and games+patches can be piped out to their machines. Of course, Taito Type X and Type X Zero are going to be the spearhead for this tech, since those machines are practically PC boxes already. It'll be interesting to see how the pricing for this works, though it's already been announced that there'll be some regular fee and that patches/updates will be bundled into the cost (so no more AH ragefests where the little arcade owners get gimped like hell, hopefully).

When UPenn holds a freshmen evening event, what do they do? They book the whole damn Philadelphia Museum of Art (you know, where Rocky ran up) and serve a buffet dinner in its halls. Some of you may not be familiar with the Philadelphia Museum of Art. This is what it looks like: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/8/8f/Philadelphia_Museum_of_Art_Pennsylvania_USA.jpg The money that gets put on display here in Philadelphia from time to time is ridiculous. I ate a cheesesteak at Abner's here on campus. The place is a veritable institution of UPenn, and gives away free cheesesteaks should the home team score 100 points (basketball). It was both an excellent cheesesteak, and the greasiest cheesesteak I have ever eaten in my life. There was an abudance of clear oil running from it onto the parchment paper it was served on; as good as it was, I don't think it's safe to eat more often than about once a month.

So I've been in Philly for slightly over 2 days. Some of you may wonder just what the difference is between an Ivy school, and, say, UBC (aside from the order of magnitude difference in endowment). Tonight, they reserved an entire Ikea store and chartered a continuous series of buses running just between it and the dorms for the students to buy stuff. EDIT: The "They" in the above sentence refers to the mysterious and powerful figures of UPenn that can do such things, and not, say, UBC.
