  1. Depending on the character I make very liberal use of jA. It's very fast, and just tossing it out can make people nervous about dashing at you. It works wonders against bang. I tend to use jB alot more against Tao, it seems to beat or trade with her drives, and it has so many active frames you don't need to stress about timing something to hit her speedy dashes. The goal of doing this isn't to inflict damage so much as it is to make the opponent think about their approach a bit more. Edit: as for 3C. One of my favorite tricks is to do nothing. Most people are waiting for you do do something after. So I do nothing and dash back in to the fray. Damn the frame data. Don't get predictable though, because this is really reliant on conditioning and your opponents habits.
  2. Ragna can still do a crummy cross-up-esque thing though. IAD over the opponent, but wait a hair after the dash ends. You can the do a jC in the correct direction. It's not hugely good because of how slow this whole process is, but it can catch people off guard, and seems to work well against Tager (for some reason). This is the truth. Lesser players like to fly at each other alot, and it makes the game seem faster. Better players take their time (defensive spacing according to Rachel), and pick their moments to attack more carefully.
  3. Yeah, same here. I won't rest until I unlock Mu, but I think I might pass on getting all the unlimited characters. Those vids you linked me are awesome I will definitely be spending some time combing through those. Thanks.

  4. I'm loving CS Ragna, but then again, my playstyle might have been alot different than yours. I avoid gimmicks like the plauge, and play what some would call... a text book Ragna (not in a bad way). But I know how your feeling, I'm getting very bored with Hazama. I hate running away, so I try to play him as a pressure character, but he's just garbage when played that way. You play Rachel too right? I went several rounds with one of XBL best Rachel's and while she is certainly weeker than her CT counterpart, I'm beginning to think she is much better than people realize. In fact If I had to make my own tier list right now it would look like this: S: Litchi, Bang S-:Ragna, Hakumen A: Carl, Lambda, Jin, Arakune, Tao B: Hazama,Tager, Rachel, Tsubaki C: Noel

  5. I've been practicing with CS ragna alot. You mentioned earlier that you were working on BE combos. I've finally gotten the Double BE down, and here are the mental notes I follow to get it done. 1)Hit the 6D right after Ragna hits the ground following BE. You can't mash out this link you'll miss half the time 2)For 6DD>(DC)>jC ; hit the (JC)>jC as fast as you can. The rhythm of this part is much faster than Ragna's normal Air loop. Again mashing won't cut it here. 3)Finally, make sure you hit the final 5D as fast a possible, you're pushing the limits of un-tech time.

  6. If your getting a stick get the MadCatz TE. It's the best, and any other stick you'd just eventually have to modify to bring to TE standards. All in all, expensive, but worth it. On another note, I might drop Hazama. I'm getting bored with him, I don't like having to run away, and he does very poorly when played as a pressure character.

  7. ^^ What? If you dash at Hazama and he tries to Jayoku the dash in, just Kara-cancel the poke and respond with some 2C or BloodKain + 2C. The only times you really have to fear the distortion are during blockstrings and on wakeup. Both times you can often rapid cancel your attack and counter.
  8. I can respect that, unlike me and Ragna, you've had to relearn a lot of stuff. It also seems like alot of the CS stuff is more timing intensive, which makes me happier (I don't know why); but you'll get it in time. I've half given up on Hazama. Not because I dislike him or am bad with him... I just get bored. You've played me, I'm very aggressive, and I get into a lot of trouble with Hazama because I try to play him in a way he isn't meant to be played, and when I do so the zoning thing, well, it's dull. Maybe you could give me some pointers. We should play soon, I won't tell anybody about how bad you may suck at the moment. On another note, how's Mu. I was interested in her, but have yet to finish story mode to unlock her.

  9. How's your lambda training been going? Despite all the shit some people talk about you I've always thought you were a good player and I'm very curious to see what you do with your modified character.

  10. I played you the other day in ranked. You were the first Tsubaki that I played that knew what he/she was doing. I was impressed, and hope to play your Tsubaki again soon.

  11. I've been playing a alot of Hazama's lately and play him myself so here are some tips on the matchup: 1) Take it slow. He isn't gonna be mixing you up or pressuring you with his chains, like lambda and her swords. Wait for him to throw a chain full screen, dodge, and smash him. 2) Pay attention to Hazama's super meter, but more importantly the type of player he is. If he is just mashing out jayoku, it's mad easy to bait. Punish with 2C, or Blood Kain into 2C, then end him. 3) Hazama's wake-up options are ass. Any time you knock him down, see to it he doesn't get up. Over-all this is a pretty simple matchup. The only thing the snake man really has going for him is the potential to kill you with two FC combos.
  12. Sorry about not playing the other day. The online hasn't been working well for me, and I was very, very pissed off at the game. I really hope there's a patch soon. Either way, I've cooled off now, so I will be sure and send you an invite when I have time. I still want to unlock Mu though.

  13. That's good to hear, it looked like it was just jitters anyways. I've been having trouble with online, it not running very well for me right now, and that is really screwing my Hazama over. Has it been okay on your end. Also, Score attack mode is evil. Also, I wanted to ask you, are you having trouble with 360 inputs. It might just be me out of practice, but I'm getting jabs at the damnedest times.

  14. I play him XBL Gamer Tag: FlyingVe Probably won't be using him much until the online gets patched. I hate losing because I can't hit links.
  15. That was pretty awesome, even more awesome though. Pick the second option ("keep eyes shut"). It's a bit difficult to describe, but Nu is hilarious.
  16. So far yes, i amused my self greatly beating on a few Noels who used to give me trouble back in CT. But I don't feel like I'm dominating quite like the old top tier could. I've been working hard to unlock Mu but I would probably be up for some games. Also, you should fight LukeYuriRaines he actually makes rachel look solid, it caught me off guard.

  17. Man ranked is fun right now. It took 3 whole matches before anybody even hit me.

  18. That may be the best Astral Finish ever.

  19. I agree Ragna is a tad OP, but he really only needs small tweaks, mostly to heat gain and un-tech times (double BE is a bit much). Bang and Litchi, on the other hand, would need much bigger adjustments.
  20. Knowledge of the Haida Loop does not a good Noel player make. Helps though. All of those players, (sckyre included) are all very competent noel players. JVCraven probably being the best.
  21. 2A works too, and those frame traps are stronger in CS because of Fatal Counters. The idea behind a frame trap is that there is enough of a gap between two attacks that a quick attack can start up, but not go active. In this case, the 2C will hit them (for a CH) before their mashed out A attack would hit you.
  22. Frame trap to deal with mashing. A good one in CT are 5A>2C and 6A>2C, or otherwise just vary the speed of your attacked. If they mash ID, just stop you string (instead of doing 6B) and block. They will soar gracefully into the air, and you will have 30 frames to figure out how to make them pay. I recommend, 5C>6C>GH>5B>6A>(HJC)>air loop
  23. Use the command throw sparingly, the range is ass and it's animation is much more obvious than Bang or Tager's. Also, the invulnerability doesn't really kick in all that fast.
  24. ^^ I've heard that Dazzle and EasyCap are the best tools for recording. You could always ask someone to upload a video from the leader-boards for you.
  25. I think it's range is only extended during the last few active frames. The reason alot of the new Ragna stuff works is because of increased untechable times on moves like 5D and GH.
