  1. I only know a few oki setups. If he blocks the LAZOR mix-up I 61234C (charged) he can't do much about it at range. Plus guard crush lazors.
  2. Well, your barking up the wrong tree, I play Mu-12 now. Nut I hear you, it's sickening how brain-dead you can be and still be threatening with Ragna. I'm going to hate him like I used to hate Jin. Also, I would spar with leonil, his Haku is beast now. Yeah, I can break out my Ragna sometime. Though I will be tempted to practice LAZORZ instead.

  3. Fair enough, I try not to throw 3C in block-strings anyways. With lazers on oki you can usually hit confirm a bit. Also, does anybody find it really fun to guard crush Tager.
  4. I mentioned that too, but you need to watch the opponent. Lots of characters can punish with a super, and I believe some characters can without (I'm almost positive Ragna can).
  5. I meant a blocked 3C. That move is really bad on block, so you do a stein to make it safer (steins can be jump and special canceled) I thought 236A might work to. I tested it a bit in training mode. It appears to be a spacing thing. The gap between the 3C and 236A was big enough for Ragna mashing 5B to get a hit. However, when spaced properly against characters with shorter range normals (like Hazama), it worked much better. Also, in every situation where 236A didn't work placing a stein and doing a quick chicken block also didn't work. Somebody else can test it to make sure I wasn't doing things wrong (I'm bad with the playback function). The conclusion is, that 3C just plain sucks on block. I had the most luck with, 3c>61234C, delaying is slightly (to make a better frame trap), but that move isn't exactly safe either. Another random thing. Most of the corner loops can be ended with 2B>5B> Omohikane. It's much easier that doing 2B> Omohikane (which takes a 612B34C motion) and adds a tiny bit of damage. However, you have to be a bit closer to your opponent to do it.
  6. Could it be okay as a safety move? For example, after a blocked 3C usually you would cancel to stein for safety. Could 236A work as well?
  7. I heard you find the Hazama on Tager matchup annoying. Wait until you see what I do with LAZORS! On a more serious note, we should play again soon. I want to see what you do with Tager, he's so un-Seth-like.

  8. Yep. That's why i've been giving up on him. I need to be able to rush somebody down. Hazama can't do it. I think your only trouble with lambda would be practice. She's the opposite of Ragna in terms of what she wants to do. Think about how long it took you to get good with a character in CT. I would expect the same thing from CS. I'm not really playing Ragna anymore either. Everybody with thumbs plays him now and, it just irks me to be part of every other scrub. I've been working hard at Mu-12. She's hard as heck to learn, but I like her, and I'm making progress. I read your wall. I recommend just getting a MadCatz TE stick. You could build a stick and save a few bucks, or upgrade a lesser stick. But really, no matter what you do, you'd want the high end parts in the TE. So I'd just skip the middle man and get the TE. It's what I use and I love it.

  9. Are you learning mU also. If so could we spar sometime, I could use some help learning her. I think she has alot of potential, but her shit is hard, and she's alot to wrap your head around. If you could help me out I'd really appreciate it.

  10. I've been having alot of trouble with the combos involving 6C>214D(wiff)>Dash6A. I can't figure out when I'm supposed to time the dash for the life of me. If anybody has some advice or some sort of queue they use to time it I would love to hear it. And if the combo is just really hard, well, that's what training mode is for.
  11. Silly I am. But I was just throwing ideas out there, in all likelihood the mook is just wrong.
  12. Don't take this the wrong way, but could it just be that hitting a one frame gap is really hard, especially online? It also could be that when you are doing it the 5B is hitting a bit meaty, that would eliminate the gap.
  13. Well right now online is very hit or miss. Alot of people I usually have good connection's with are now crap. I've been playing with Zed and Tsunna lately, and our connections are solid enough (Double BE bluebeats but at least I get that far without the lag killing the combo). I can invite you next time. There should be a patch coming with the Makoto DLC in the next few days, hopefully it will shore up the netcode to CT levels. I can help you with Tager too, he's very easy to pick up, but you tend to like mobility so... yeah... you might have to unlearn some stuff. Also, I do strongly recommend what I said in XBL General. Practice doing combos with your eyes closed. That's how you will know you truly have it in muscle memory.

  14. Awkward is actually a good word for Mu. All of her stuff feels really... strange. But in a way that I liked. I also love long range normals (see Ragna, Tager) so I think that helps a bit. Also learning a more technical character will be a fun change of pace from my straightforward choices (again see Ragna and Tager, with a little Hazama). Ragna and Hazama in particular were really beginning to bore me anyways.

  15. Hmm... if I were to rate the matchup based only on what I've seen from top lambdas, I would rate it a 5.5 in Ragna's favor. All the nerfs hurt lambda's ability to shut Ragna down, but she gained a DP. This is a huge tool in this matchup. Ragna's block-strings are all DP'able anytime he does something after 5C, 2C, or 3C, and at other points if you IB or have Godlike timing. THis lets you knock him out of a pressure string and across the screen, and he will have to run the gauntlet again. The reason, 'spamming' 214D works so well against Ragna is twofold. One, he's huge. He might not look it but Ragna's hit-box is about the same size as Hakumen's. He just cant weave around the swords like other characters can. Two, his jump is slow. THe only character who gets off the ground slower is Tager. By putting him in situations where he will be tempted (or have) to jump, you can take him out of his element.

  16. So... I'm now playing Mu-12... God help me. But if you were going to use the psuedo-nu-clone too, maybe we could spar and help each other out. I really would benefit from seeing what other Mu players do.

  17. Just a thought. If you still can't get a hold of pk Blizzard for your match, it might be a good idea to post something to that effect in the thread. At least just so BJ knows there is a problem, rather than springing it come tuesday.

  18. Yeah I saw that, I just wasn't mashing Tech fast enough. Good luck at seasons beatings though, I wish I could get to alot of offline stuff. My only advice is don't play Ragna like jin. His lit taps aren't as good, but other than that, CS Ragna is piss easy. I finally unlocked Mu, also, and I think I actually like her. I'm gonna have to put in alot of training, to bring her up to snuff though. In the right hands, I think Mu-12 could be really dangerous.

  19. How do you feel about mu? (just curious).
  20. Sorry I raged a bit. But seriously, I can barely function in CS online right now. After our match I went to training and did all of Ragna's combos, didn't drop one, but online I can't hit shit right now. You know I can do 5D>(DC)>6A. So, at least until the online is patched I will probably only play until I get totally fed up. On a nicer note, your Haku is looking pretty awesome. The increased frame advantage on his stuff was throwing me quite a bit.

  21. havent even looked at challenge mode to be honest. Why?

  22. GG's today. We should do some player matches sometime, we could learn alot of Hazama stuff from each other.

  23. I just tested it. It works on everybody, the jB is iffy on Tao since here tech roll is lower to the ground, but you don't lose anything for missing (hence option select). I don't know how I never thought of this, it should have worked in CT too.
  24. I believe BE>5A works, but only on Tager. BE is a crappy poke anyways though, so it shouldn't matter.
  25. Yeah, the more I play, the less I use Gadget. Sometimes it works, but just as often I get hurt for it, so I just stick to 4D. However, I love MikeZ's trick Gadget>(RC)>5D, that is fun as hell. I've been working on that crazy cross-under RC gadget setup but i don't have the timing down yet. I did it to one poor sap, it was amazing, I have never seen a player panic like that before.
