  1. I think I've seen that done midscreen too, but the timing it probably really tight.
  2. Safety with ragna isn't so much about airtight blockstrings or frame advantage like with other characters but fear. For example, 5B and 5C are often considered unpunishable, not because they aren't punishable, but because of the amount of options Ragna has after one of those moves. If they were to try something they run the risk of getting walloped for it. Basically, with Ragna you have to play the opponent, flow-charting doesn't work so well with Ragna.
  3. mAcChaos tells me your trying to learn Tager on Blazblue. My Tager is one of the best on XBL, I would be happy to give you any help/advice you might want.

  4. I'd be happy to show him stuff, i'm just horribly burned out on CT. That and the fact that most people online are just dicking around now anyways doesn't do much to hold my interest. But if Shervin wants Tager help I'd be glad to give it. My Tager mauls people.

  5. Learning is never scrubby, scrubs are those that refuse to learn. Anyways, BB is pretty lenient on the timing on the wakeup ID. Basically, just input it after you hit a button to tech and it should come out (you don't need to be particularly fast. Also, BB has a system where in holding a button (briefly) will repeat the input for 5 frames, so you could try holding C when you do a wake-up ID.

  6. Yeah I've been playing him alot, he's been very helpful in teaching me the ins and outs of SF4. I'm getting better too. I'd say I'm decent at the game, I still lose to some random scrub stuff, (mash out ultra :psyduck:) but at least I do things with purpose and opposed to randomness. You have the game too right? You should play with us sometimes, I can't play CT anymore.

  7. Oh that sucks. I can't even use a pad anymore (even in a lower execution game like BlazBlue), but that would explain those few missed QCBk's. I was actually more interested in match-ups than tier placement, though I am very surprised to see Chun-Li on top, and Juri seems low (not that's she's great but...).

  8. Thanks for the compliment, I've been working on Dudley too, he's lots of fun he just has some really trouble against mid-rangers (alot of the cast). Also, i would very much like to see your Bison next time we play. I know it will be terrifying, but I'm curious to see what it looks like, compared to Zed's random sissorkicks. They released the first official SSF4 Matcup chart, you might be interested: http://www.eventhubs.com/guides/2008/oct/17/street-fighter-4-tiers-character-rankings/

  9. So, you got to see me play again. Outside of my wakeup ultra (I'm not really sure what I was thinking), what did you think. Any general advice? Also, Bison, I don't know how to handle sisser kick pressure, head-stomps I could counter.

  10. I PLAY THE TAGARZ XBL: FlyingVe Also, it might be a good idea to periodically update the first post with all the tags, organized by console. That way people won't need to sift through pages of posts.
  11. The Mako (jeep) is an abomination to control, all the 'extra' planets are just barren wastelands, the side-quests are non-existant/really petty fetch quests, there are loads of weapons and armor that all look and feel the same and are really hard to keep track of, there are too many abilities to manage on a controller, HUGE slowdown problems, lots of graphics glitches, cheap deaths (thresher maw spawn underneath you), worst inventory system ever, and it has the KOTOR problem of not really getting interesting until you are off the training world. That said, the core of the game is very good, and the plot + charters, are excellent (except Kaiden); thus making it still worth playing. Mass Effect 2 has none of the above problems, and has even better characters, core gameplay, and plot.

  12. That could be. I played both games but didn't transfer (my HDD died and I lost my save), and I didn't feel like I was missing anything. The background story helped a bit though. But if you get ME1 prepare for one of the most frustrating good games you'll ever play.

  13. It's story is, well, crap; but that isn't what the game is about. The three main characters have beautifully drawn personalities, and it's a joy to watch them interact with one and other. Also, the combat system is really, really, good. It's incredibly complex, but flashy and deep. If you can find it I recommend it, but FFXIII is also a good game, and a bit more mainstream (RoF is a very strange game). Lastly, Mass Effect 2 is one of the best games I have played ever, if you haven't played it, you should.

  14. Sorry again for the late response. At the risk of sounding incredibly snobbish, I really won't be on CT ever again. But thankfully, CS is coming out in another week, and I will be all over that. Also, if you need an RPG, get Mass Effect 2. Need a JRPG get FFXIII or Resonance of Fate.

  15. Good luck with that. The reason it's so effective if SF is because, after an untechable knockdown, the other guy gets up after a set interval. Therefore you could time a jump in to be a safe jump. In BB, when the other guy can tech whenever he pleases, you will never be able to time it correctly.
  16. Well, I don't really know alot about Option-Selects in BB (again not so important in this game), but the ABC option select is for when you are under pressure, and not sure whether the opponent will throw you. it's most used on wakeup to prevent wake-up grabs.
  17. Option selecting is like playing both rock and paper at the same time. Hnekai is right the ABC option Select is the most useful in BB. Also, the reason you heard it alot at EVO is that Option-Selects are much more important in the world of SF than BB.
  18. By spacing, I hope you mean in his face, because jB has mad range. But seriously, when you play against Jin you have to play the other guy. Pay attention to when he likes to throw his jB, then focus on stuffing it. My guess is it's a timing issue not a spacing one. If your both air dashing at each other (hypothetically), throw jA earlier, and his jB will collide with it. This can be hard at first, because it goes against normal muscle memory to jA so early, and Jin players know how much range jB has, and throw it sooner. You are effectively baiting their habits. Edit: This tactic is far from perfect, Jin's jB is ridiculously good. The goal is to get him to play by your terms, not his. This is a way to get in his head.
  19. Ragna's jA is faster than his jB. Usually, I do alot of jA at the beginning of the round to make the Jin player doubt the godly-ness of his jB. A soon as they start second guessing it, your options get a whole lot better.
  20. To be fair though, CT Ragna damage is all over the place. He can do ridiculous amounts of damage with his mixup (6B, TK GH, throw) but alot of his other hits barely break 2k. Jin on the other hand has more consistent damage, usually just about 3k, and he can up it by adding meter or being in a corner, rather than relying on a bad block by the opponent. ArkSys fixed this in CS with Berial Edge.
  21. I don't take offense at anything don't worry. I knew you were joking. Shit talking never bothers me until it gets spiteful (see XBL General for examples); it's all in good fun. My Hazama is no joke though, I'm lacking in specific matchup experience, but I'm no strander to zoning, and my execution is good enough to do the hard stuff.

  22. I was deeply offended... for you to make such assumptions is... distasteful... Anyways, I took a look at the match. Quite frankely it just seemed like casuals. The execution by both players was crap in the first two rounds. My only general advice is as follows: 1)In the corner, nobody should be able to jump out of DS>Dash5B. Your timing was off and jin got out of a situation where he should have got hit. 2)Jins pressure wil go on forever if you don't do something about it. ID slow stuff like Tri-Ice and 6D (you can do both on reaction easily). You can try and yomi ID other stuff if you want, but make sure you have meter. The other option is like Axis said, IB the slow pokes, it opens up alot of holes in Jin's pressure.
  23. ^ I will be kicking all manner of Ragna ass with Hazama. He's so easy to IB, which equals Jayoku... At least until people learn the matchup.
  24. only works with CH 5C or when the opponent is crouching. You'l usually land it after 6B (overhead) or hit confirming a few 2A's on a croucher.
