  1. Will you make me, jump, jump, Mr. Kross? I'll play Skull Girls, I guess. AH3? Fuck, Guess I"ll play that too.
  2. Kain posted my new favorite. He's my new favorite. I'm now obliged to play whatever game he suggests, as long as it's KoF.
  3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlIjrlKIVqg My fav
  4. On the whole growing a scene, and what games to play, I'll share my opinion, which in my experiences, feels like a fact. A scene will only grow and thrive for real when the players or at least smaller pockets of players meet on a more regular basis. If you aren't playing IRL a least once every two weeks, really weekly, then you aren't really part of a thriving scene. I'm sure Naimat is still coming down off the high of seeing how hype the GG scene that still exists is. GG was the most hype 'side' game far and away. Sometimes it had 3 setups running, and one was played constantly the entire weekend. That is why we were hype for it like mad, even years later after the game died. We all have so many fond memories attached to that game. It's really the fun over time had by the majority of members = strength of the scene. To be fair, it's not that simple, but it's a majority factor. All we really need to do is get together more, and play more, more often. The rest will fix itself. Also, I have two loaner setups for GG, including Sanwa PS2 sticks. Naimat has one, and Klein has the other. (I'll have a new PS2 stick for you this weekend, Klein) If you want next on the borrow and practice list, put up your quarter. Phil and I are happy to teach GG, anytime.
  5. Vocal: Bullshit, I've played both, but admittedly only the earlier Tales games. They were fuggin GREAT, don't get me wrong, but you're gonna have to offer a little more to make it a math equation. Milln - 4D plot line was weakly told, but actually an amazing idea, where they took it in the end worked well. The Last Hope was a very solid excellent game. What did you find stupid that captivated me like a fool? 2nd Story was the best, I'll agree. I didn't take it as far as you did, I had my head shoved too far up Valkyrie Profile's ass, but I gave it two full play thru's, and I started the third with the intention to use the glitch so I could build my favorite team of 8. Dias was a badass. I liked Albel Nox because Dais Flac existed.
  6. They all fucking matter, even tho the first two have the edge, I'll agree. Some found 3 questionable, but I still thought it was worth playing thru 2.5 times.
  7. Niamat, put in 3 hours for me, and we'll teach you the rest Thursday night. We'll do as well as we do. I play 5 games at least, and you know I"m not twice as smart as you. We can decide not to compete if you really aren't feeling it, but it's far to soon to give up. 3 hours of training mode man, you can muster that much.
  8. I just ordered KoF XIII for the 360 on the Milln tip. Also picked up Extend for the PS3, so I can play my Tager god friend in Germany and Star. Sorry I had to leave so early Saturday, I didn't play many casuals at all. Good shit to Volpe, you've got my number, it seems. Had alot of fun playing Astaroth as well, it's been too long man. Thanks to Milln for the projector, that thing is awesome, and thanks to Chandler for the camera. Busy weeks ahead, I hope I can find some time for extra gaming.
  9. I heard moving to Mexico is an effective strategy. I would teach you to be more Mexican if I could, I just work cheap and long hours, and I fucking love burritos.
  10. I Ass-Trolled one of the top Jin players on the server. He was playing Plat, however. I hate that character, I wish I could delete her from the game. Looking forward to seeing everyone and playing tomorrow. I find SFxT to be highly entertaining. KoF is a much better game. Futanari K' (you know it is) is still great. I think I dig the cigarette.
  11. Yeah, I thought I didn't git it cuz I wuz drunk, but if it don'tmake sense to Chander, don't make sense to me.
  12. Power Up room details are as follows: MTN has a room, pitch in what you can, but we have a hotel room Friday and Saturday night. If you can do math at all, then you should be able to figure out your split. If you can pitch in none, any, or all, give it to me. Big brother putting you on the honor system and paying for the ones who can't swing it, that simple. No fucking stress. As far as the ride goes, pretty much the same. I can take 3 passengers, or 4 if you like each other and wanna get cuddly in the back. If Vocal goes, I'll just give Naimat a ride (in the 2 seater), but if he don't, I'll switch to the sedan and we'll have creme, mocha, high yella, and... what the fuck colored are you Naimat? Remember, I'm leaving Thursday morning by 11:00 AM that day. I'm getting the Cinci for some fucking VSAV and early games.
  13. I'm still going to PowerUp, and skipping out on the wedding. Who's an asshole? This guy. I'm leaving out Thursday late morning, and can give rides. I'm going early for Fight Night and just general fun times. The housing hookup is in place, no worries. I'm giving Klien a ride this Saturday. Lee and Caleb, could you guys remember my converters and stick? My personal current game list. GG, BB, VSAV, SFXT, KOF. I really tried SCV, not my thing. Can't stand playing it, but I enjoy watching it. I'm unhype about P4U at the moment, this is subject to change as I'll certainly try it out, but I'm not feeling the game based on videos and such. A car with 4 passengers would have to fall under 20 MPG to be more expensive than Megabus, on the general estimate. Megabus is fucking cheap as far as it goes tho. I'm planning on driving my 2 seater to PowerUp, but if 2 or more wanna ride with me, I'll switch and take the boring ass 4 seater. Congrats to Dacidbro for the reverse OCV. I've never met the cocksucker, but I'm surely proud of him for beating Japanese players on Japanese soil.
  14. This is probably a huge part of it, certainly. The forums here show how active BB still is. Also, I know there had to be more than just myself and the few others that couldn't make it on Friday. Attendance more than doubled on Saturday, and there are players who would have played.
  15. I think BB is kusoge, honestly. Still, if MTN's continue to exist the way they do now, I think it should be ran, at least for the next little while, as was mentioned by Naimat and Chandler. I'll support it, along with a number of other games. I think the main reason the scene isn't growing is that it's already divided. MTN's overall community size isn't large enough to support two groups. Both parties play KoF and everyone is hype for GG. I think this year's growth depends on the two separate scenes coming together on the same day, a little more planning, and running every game on the same day. How does everyone feel about that? FINAL ROUND: Well, basically myself, Milln, Klien, Midnight, and teh Paps went for Taco Mac, and it was awesome. Hot ass wings, and Klien's manliness matched dat beerd. I forgot what Ranch tasted like, and Caleb never knew. Midnight spit on my fries and I ate them anyway, like a fuckin' honey badger. Milln you were right, that shit was just too fun. For the record, I wasn't too wasted to find my way in from the parking garage. Just way too lazy to figure out where it was in relation to my car that I had to go to, and then back to the hotel. I didn't want to put the effort in... too much walking. I was a little too drunk to not appear like a total dumbass tho, so I'm glad it worked out that way. Chandler: Thanks man, that would be great if I could use your camera for a bit!
  16. I need to make a one time vlog talk to a camrea thing for the FGC. Can any of you help me? I don't have the equipment to record it. Shouts later.
  17. I'm only non-competitive right now because my life isn't letting me train seriously. I don't have a daily training partner (or even twice a week would be great) who can push me. I'm no longer hungry enough to travel to KY or OH ever other wekeend to clock in 40 hours of gaming in 3 days, and such. It what I feed on when I'm stepping my game up. Now is simply a time to enjoy the games, and it's great. Yes, Volpe, I'm eager for more, but I've had many of those matches. I'm just nibbling right now to keep the cravings manageable. If I can work my way back into a place where I could train as I know I need to, then I'm quite willing to 'get competitive' again. Chandler, get well soon. Naimat, why the fuck don't you go with me to FR late? You just gotta get in the car and ride, pretty much. 420 down I24. It's all a matter of perspective, like you said. It's also fun for me because I get to see parts of myself in most of you guys. Milln is pretty much just like me, just with far fewer unhealthy habits.
  18. I want me some Suguri of Xcelleration X.
  19. Read all the drama. I actually think Star's point is being missed. Yep, I just came to a nigga's defence. TrooooL? Everyone had good points. I'm going to attempt to explain mine. Star is salty cuz he dislikes finding himself in the position of a crossup, (amount of ambiguity not relevant) and he can't block it. Well, certainly when he thought he had the tech to actually block it. I think we all know when someone gets salty mid match, they get semi-free quick. No wonder he ain't feeling the game. Really tho, this may be an old man story, about walking up hill both ways in the snow to school and shit, but I do offer a different perspective. The internet has made your technology free. It really has. Try to argue this, and I will crush you. Play the people, play the moment in front of you. You will never reach the finals of a major event if your focus is on the technology, because the player you a facing, that unique moment, it's at least 50% of the equation. Lemme try to back that statement up. At Niamat's Thanksgiving, I raped all your faces in KoF. I'd never touched the game, everyone else had been playing a little, learning those combos.... I played the basics. I never once worried about what I could possibly do, and just did what I could. Epic rape, basically. Nothing personal. That is the part of the game that I swear most of you miss out on much of the time, the playing your opponent side. It exists in the disputed KoF crossup situation. If you are playing your opponent, then you know the first time you eat your meal of 60% damage (possibly seasoned with ambiguity), that one of two things just happened. The knew it was going to be a 50/50 crossup, or they didn't. Simple as that. If they did know, next time you don't ever consider blocking it, you either counter roll out (KoF) or start finding an answer. Can you low profile it? Cant you trade with it? What can be done to this player next time they try that shit? I think those are the questions that will make you better players, instead of just arguing tech. When I played Lee for the first time, it was in CT. I had just gotten back from Chicago's Frost Faustings, where I placed I think 4th? I dunno, it was when I was sharp. I was competitive at that time. I was also a specialist at the Noel/Tager matchup. It was supposedly really bad for Noel. I loved it. I had lost to Mike Z's Tager at the SBO qualifiers months back, and I was still salty. I lost to him because I'd dropped a combo (3 times) that I though I'd understood the tech for, but I didn't. Anyway, I was better than Mike Z at that time in my mind, and I made a few stupid decisions that cost me the match. We can go over the video where I fucked myself if you'd like. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aU25KNcj2-8 Anyway, Lee and I had one hell of a fight. He won, and I mean just barely won. I was creating new personal tech on the fly because I knew the game so well, and he was keeping up because his defense and reactions were amazing. It's actually the fight that I 'closed out my competitive career' with, in a way. Really great memories there... What I'm trying to say is that there is an entire other side of the equation to look at, and it should be considered too. I guess it makes me so supremely salty that most fighters are constantly discussed like they are cut and dry simplistic decisions. It's like theory is discussed like application, or vice versa. I'm possibly senile too.... Milln raped my face off in Psychic Force 2012. Most fun I've had in months. CHANDLER! Are you going to Final Round with me?!? Plz respond, I luv U, hearts and dead spikes.
  20. On the Guilty Gear tip, I'll do my best to teach everyone if they are going to play. I think you all know how hard it is technically, but it's so rewarding. If any of you can ever go better than 7-3 in a ten set with my Ky (not online) you'll have done something special. Something that I would wager just about anything none of you will ever do. I so hope I loose that bet.
  21. Chandler, I've got a an extra, used, Sanwa JLF you can have to finish it up. The only thing I think you'll gain by moving to stick is the ability to play on any console, not being tied to a 360 pad.
  22. Chandler: You are such a little badass.
  23. Mucho fun last night. Enjoyed the games muchly. Psy2012 too much fun on the throwback, I fail a keeping guard and dash straight. KoF and BB always fun. Billy, good to see you again. Great thing about a man owing you a beer is you'll drink and play games later.... Milln, thanks for hosting, sucks you had to work so late, I know how it is. Great matches! Naimat, fuck your Bang, he's so much fun to fight. Could do that for hours. Good to see everyone I saw, and even those I didn't see, I think.
