  1. It's my greatest superpower and my greatest weakness at the same time. Oh here we go again... Things to think about: 1. Axl has met himself before and had little problems. (Figure that one out! O.o) 2. Axl has managed to control his time jumps 'just a little' on the request of Slayer. While it isn't an absolute thing, it seems to affect his emotions and current events he has experienced... 3. In AC+ he "almost made it" to Megumi but got warped away. I'm not sure if this involves his sense of responsibility ala "The Chrono Trigger Stipulation", or it might have something to do with his relationship with Sol. 4. He apparently is aware of Sol's Childhood and/or past and may know more than perhaps Paradigm or Izuna about the history between Frederick, That Man, and possibly Aria. More things to think about: 1. Raven's back story says he as existed as far back as the Dark Ages "OUR time", which seems to suggest he is of Norse Descent as he mentions fighting a war as a mercenary during that time. 2. Raven recalls with destinct clarity the moment at which he died 'the first time' as he reached what he calls a 'white space'. And then he woke up and realized his fatal wound was healing, stating something along the lines of 'Valhalla would not accept him'.

  3. ......I'm not sure about how to comment from these posts but...please people, try to keep your fanfics out of the story thread...stick to hyperlinks to other sites that have them. Also...PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE OH GOD PLEASE USE PROPER GRAMMAR. Unless you're trying to imitate a southern dialect (which I sincerely doubt), please just READ WHAT YOU POST slowly before posting it.

  5. Actually, I'm trying to say this: rpg fighter =/= "intelligent mashfest" =/= "fucking stupid" In this case =/= means "Does NOT equal". I believe you can adjust your level...or level up for that matter against other players. As for refuting my argument with equips...I did no such thing, I said it's the player's CHOICE. Just like how you can choose golds and blacks and EX mode in GG...you can use them or not, that doesn't make it any less deep. What you may define as a "serious match" is therefore left up to you...get a grip, chill out and stop talking crap till you play it. If you're going to say that something is only DEEP if elaborate strategy and combo skill is involved where you have to input 360s all over the place like I-no...or the system is so deep nobody can understand it on the surface...then obviously this game will never be for one as stingy and pickyune as you. But for us 'less uptight' gamers...leave us out of your issues with 2D fighting complexity. That goes for anyone obsessed with deep high level gameplay in any 2D or 3D fighter...CHILL OUT...less annuerisms that way. I'd say this for GG2 Overture as well, which actually IS based on 2-attack-button gameplay.
  6. Well... I've got a PSP with U.S. Judgment/#Reload for starters, and I'm on Wifi if that's okay. Still not on X-Link Kai yet though...

  8. I'm half tempted to post a huge monstrous list of all possible GG pairings through alphabetical process of elimination, but I shall spare you all the eye bleeding. As for Gear Cell Containment Devices (I just call it Limiter for short), Frederick is the only guy I know who can make them. It's probable That Man could too, but why would he bother? He gave one to Solaria, that much is certain, as there's a picture of her (damn if I know where) wearing it. It's pure speculation at this point if the eyepatch Sin is wearing is also a Limiter, most likely it is, but then, he's been known to wear a normal eyepatch in his younger days, it might be purely for style or to hide his Gear Mark...again, nothing is mentioned except perhaps in the GG2 Guidebook (someone give me the transcript to that soon, please, .txt format if possible). On that note, Sin has a move called Voltic Eye, which essentially creates a sphere of dark lightning on either side of him, whether that has to do with his power is unknown. His other moves may be also related, but we don't know. I do know that R.T.L. is without a doubt Ride the Lightning x 3 quick red dashes though. As for Dizzy...We don't know.

  10. This is an endless conundrum that has me puzzled lately. I can certainly bait them, and if I see it coming, I can block it...to say nothing of Slashback yet. Obviously it means upper-invincibility frames, and from what I see, different Dead Angles do different stuff. (Dead Angle = Alpha Counter, if you don't know your nomenclature, i.e. 50% Tension use while guarding puts you on the offensive, 6+two attack buttons) Venom's for example, does wall-stick and huge knockback. I just want to know what can be done, if anything, or who I can expect to deal with a lot of Dead Angles from? Obviously this involves specific matchups but...depending on who I use, I have options sometimes, and sometimes I don't, so it varies. I just need advice. Thanks.

  13. Considering who Haku-men IS....I'm not sure his sense of justice is up to par with Ky's. And technically, Ky has toned down some since Overture.

  15. No depth you say? You're telling me equipping and leveling is not depth? Your bar is raised too high methinks. You don't have to draw a line between fighting games and RPGs you know. I'm not going to say I played KH or KHII for that matter, but getting items and equiping weapons in this game is OPTIONAL....for serious matches people agree to de-equip stuff, including summons. Equipment doesn't define matchups in any way. As for Brave/HP Attack equips, those are based on what attacks you're familiar with using and your own playing style, based on that specific character's skillset, like picking and choosing what moves you want to use in a match. Before you call it an "intelligent" mashfest, why don't you try it...and try Battle Fantasia while you're at it. I have nothing further to say except that it isn't a "mashfest" by your definition.

  19. You know what...you have no idea what true mashing is. This isn't Dynasty Warriors. You pull that sort of thing in this game you will LOSE I guarantee it. Sure, system-wise it's not up to GG standards (as you literally have to equip things like double-jumping), but there's a lot of customization and leveling and equipping you can do which is something on par with Battle Fantasia.   20. I swear to god if I hear someone say mashfest one more time, I'm going to mashfest their mashfest. This game is based on Brave Points that affect how strong HP Attacks are....but you need Brave in order for HP attacks to work...and since most combos involve Brave and not HP attacks, it isn't a big deal if a combo is particularly long. HP attacks only mix up with Brave under certain situations...and most Brave attacks are blockable. HP attacks are slower and you can dodge them easily. Brave doesn't technically do damage, it only builds up damage.
  21. Honestly, I'm pretty sure it's either Gabranth or Shantotto...mostly due to the idea they are combo-heavy and easy to put people in Break Mode with.

As for the story....well, it's the same for most of the cast with slight tweaks in motivation/reactions etc...otherwise kinda meh... If you want specifics just ask.   24. Mentioning this for anyone who wishes to ask me questions...I have Guilty Gear Judgment now. (I have Slash Judgment but it's Japanese, but I doubt it's any different story-wise from #Reload Judgment.)
