  1. Food for thought: If you're stuck on a Gold/Black character and lose, sometimes you might wanna try playing against that character in Versus CPU mode or Training Mode at max difficulty. When done, you can set up your Parameters in Extra Options to what you had, and you can see where you went wrong more.

    Random Ky Question

Nobody mentioned the bands they were in, sorry...
  3. Well it wouldn't be the first time I've done cleanhit on block, for what it's worth. And like I said, I use j.S, or j.H to center the Sidewinder, since it's a lot harder to get Sidewinder to land in and of itself.
  4. Question, is there such a thing as non-character specific combos regarding Millia?
  5. Last I checked I thought hit-confirm meant you hit and determine whether the hit is solid or not (or in this case, centered) and follow through. Am I wrong?

    Random Ky Question

Look up Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske of Helloween and Gamma Ray.......
  7. Okay folks, this may be a shocker but...I think I may have found the "big hint" on what the Jinki and OutRage represent. It all originated in Shinto belief. First, recall that there are 8 sacred treasures. Jinki (item) (神器 ,literally "God Vessel"/"Divine Tool"), an item used in Shinto ceremonies to worship Kami (God). The question of why there are 8 stems from this symbol, called the Eight Trigram Furnace, found in the I Ching beliefs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/I_Ching Now recall the list of Jinki: Fuuenken (Fireseal Sword) Kojouhaku (White on the Lake) 湖上白 Unnamed #1 Unnamed #2 Each of these weapons/tools probably represent an element among these. Heaven/Creation Lake/Happiness Fire/Knowledge* Thunder/Initiative* Wind/Gentility Water/In-motion Mountain/Dedication Earth/Reception So far we only know of two for sure. As I can't really say what the rest are, but be sure to keep an eye out for the next ones. My speculation at this point: Thunderseal = Thunder (obvious) Fireseal = Fire (again, obvious) Zessen = Wind (Fujin is the hint) Senga = Heaven Ekitoku = Mountain Kojouhaku = Lake ??? #1 = Water (Associated with Violence) ??? #2 = Earth (Associated with Devotion)
  8. Yeah for some reason I can't seem to get characters to say character-specific quotes outside of sound test. Does it only work in versus or something?
  9. Thanks for the vote of confidence, Sunnyday. I will do my best. Though please note I haven't read the memorial book yet, or the Overture book either, so that may take some time.

    Slayer AC strats

I hate to ask...but... What can you do with P or K Mappa? I'm always confused on that. On hit? On Counterhit? On block? I don't really know.
  11. Taken translations and organized from the manual: RAVEN: -------------Signature Skills Soko ja nai. Justice Vids?

Still can't beat the Chipp omega combo on Justice....
  14. I find that j.S is a good tool for hit-confirming sidewinder into Clean Hit. Over 90% of all my Wild Throw combos follow up with a guaranteed clean hit after j.S...only ones that are somewhat troublesome are ABA and maybe Johnny in that regard, otherwise it works with everyone else. Other things I've noted: 6P > 5s (close) > 2H > j.S. Sidewinder (almost always clean hit). low to mid-level j.D > Sidewinder (clean hits most people) 2H > j.S Sidewinder (cleanhit followup for the sidewinder loops) If you manage to get a successful Forcebreak Tyrant Rave in the corner, you can do j.S Sidewinder for another clean hit. Riot Stamp (Counterhit) > 5K > j.K > Sidewinder (clean hit for most) For "high rebounds from the last clean hit" you can do: land > j.S jc > j.S sidewinder again. And for awkward rebounds: j.S > j. H (first hit) > Sidewinder. There's probably more, but some prefer to use j.D or j.S for more damage, but getting it to center is harder. Certain Dust combos with Tension in the corner can let you do a Double Clean hit (Sidewinder RC Sidewinder) if you're close enough. Flashy useless cleanhit combo: 6H (stagger) > Grand Viper (Clean hit) > well-timed j.S. > Sidewinder (Clean hit) > begin Sidewinder loop. Oh yeah, and don't forget, Clean Hits give damage multiplier, so the more Clean Hits you have in a combo, the more damaging it is regardless of guard bar.
  15. I sincerely doubt anyone's going to update Wikipedia. Honestly, I think an official Wikia for Guilty Gear would be more useful if it hasn't been made already. And I don't mean the strategy wikis that offer in-game tips.

    Some Sprites

I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with King Ky...gorgeous. Edit: Something to consider, you may want to try working on sprites in the same resolution as Blazblue (or rather sprite size).
  18. I think the hint lies in what That Man and I-no have been tinkering with as of late. --Clashes between two powerful beings result in time-space distortion, even if the clash occurs with the exact same being but of a different time space. (i.e. Axl versus Axl) --Something similar can occur when a powerful being clashes with multiple beings of a certain amount of power and then unleashes the feedback onto an intended target. Think of how static electricity builds up and then gets unleashed. I-no tried to set this up on Sol since she knew her power alone wouldn't be enough to send him flying in a time distortion. Theoretically, it's also possible that Axl accidentally discharged his "time friction" on Jam, Crow, and the P-Series bots as well. --Beings of the same existence yet different timeframe automatically repel one another, as is what occurs with Axl when he encounters Raven. It's strange to note he doesn't seem to have this similar occurance to past or future encounters with himself, nothing he points out, anyway. His "strange feelings" when he time slips aren't occurring when his "other selves" are around. --Existential beings "Exist" in the Present. Altering their Future or Past can technically have very little effect on them if they are conscious of their own "Present Identity", though this appears to cause a "disparity" between a Past Self and a Present Self, if such were to occur...just like it would be very hard to "find your future self" if you traveled to the future. Because you jumped the timeline, technically you'd be somewhere else. --Existence can still "Exist" in enclosed non-time space. That is to say, they are alive, but do not change or function in timeflow, such as when I-no was frozen. What's more, That Man claims he can utilize I-no's "time" for something else. --We later learn that That Man has managed to reverse his own personal timeflow so that he is actually becoming younger. I'm not entirely sure what all this adds up to, but it seems to be something very diabolical that may come up.
  19. And once again, I am suspicious of things relating to the "Present" and "Future" events. I have this gut feeling that Crow has something to do with Raven.....I know that sounds weird but, Anji says there's something about both of them he just doesn't like.
  20. Little tidbits about Crow: --Seems to be "mistaken" for Crow Kuruwaba, though they may be the same and he just denies his old name... --Section Chief, but Robo-Ky has no respect for him at all. "Dame Hakase!!" --It seems this Crow Kuruwaba was sealed in Dimensional Prison at one point by his master...though how Johnny knows about it I'm not sure, but it has something to do with Johnny's Master, Unchou Hirufumi. --Slayer mentioned that Crow used to be a former medical doctor instead of a scientist. Perhaps he is an acquaintance of Faust? Lots of facepalm moments with Chipp and Bridget...and lets face it, A.B.A. isn't very smart either. Chipp is reminding me more and more of a certain "other" Ninja...you know who I mean. Not sure where the phrase "Yo Daitoryo!" [Way to go, Mr. President!] comes from...entertainment pun perhaps? S-ko is mistaken by Chipp to be a famous ghost named Oiwa-San http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yotsuya_Kaidan (seems to be the inspiration for Sadako/The Ring)
  21. Some things I found interesting *spoilers ahoy*: --Crow says he's one of the "Administrators" of PWAB, which I guess makes him one of the higher ups in the organization. He knows about Sol being a Prototype, and seems to hint that Dizzy is a "copy" of sorts. --May claims a lot of stuff is "happening again", as if she's experienced a lot of stuff in the past...blanked out memories of the war? --Ky knew about May being Japanese before she found out. :8/: I wonder.... --Forbidden Beasts can only transfer to "authenticly designated" bodies, as even regular human bodies won't do. Not only does the Justice Copy not qualify as a body, but transferring to a new host takes a considerable amount of energy, as even if Eddie managed to get hold of Sol, he couldn't occupy the body. What's more...there's a possibility for the Kinjuu to evolve beyond the need of a host. Is that even possible? --Slayer says that once he leaves for "his world" he can never return. I wonder where this place might be? (Makai or Backyard perhaps?). --That Man has an interesting thought process on Time Placement: Basically that "Now" is more important than the "Past" or "Present". So basically "Cogito Ergo Sum/I think therefore I exist/What I do now has no effect on me anywhere else". Sol actually puts this theory in practice in his good ending. What's more, PWAB places a note in their information saying that Sol and Order-Sol appear to be time disparities of eachother? An end result? Ky's phrase "I'm me, and you're you" seems to hint at him catching on to what happened to Sol (Drama CD Side Red anyone?). I wonder if this has anything to do with Rave[finput][/finput]xl? And if this really happened, then what happened to I-no? Is she stuck in another time? --S-ko had the brief hots for Testament....until he decided to a jerk about it. Likewise Zappa almost made it with Millia...darn. More later...
  22. He is the veritable Rennaissance Man, isn't he? Designs, composes, probably programs, voice acts...
  23. Really man, how do I say I do not know how to do Jump Install well in plain English....I suck at it. I've tried quite a number of times, and I can say I can't rely on it as easily as anything else, so I'm trying to find combos that don't involve Jump Install.
  24. Instant Kills still exist for prerequisites to endings, and certain endings require other endings to happen before hand. But in the end most characters only have 2 endings (good and bad) this time around...exceptions being Order-Sol, Kliff, and Justice. Honestly I think the hardest ending to get is Sol's Ending 1 this time around, since you have to play through without losing against Gold Boss I-no... http://dustloop.com/forums/showpost.php?p=357508&postcount=35 Edit, I take that back, I-no's is kinda hard too...
