If all you're going to post is insults regarding this thread, don't bother posting. Neuro Chaos, you've been especially "troll-some" with me lately? You got something to say you PM me don't drag others into your mood.

Sacred Treasures is just another name for Jinki "Divine Instrument" if you've been following context. As for the whole retcon thing...people only started saying that when they mistook GGX and XX for a retcon from one of Daisuke's interviews. If it were a retcon it wouldn't have its own section in the GG Bible which was fairly explicit and Timeline Specific, and he would've said something officially about it by now, even in the 50 Question Interview. I said this before "Gaiden" = "Sidestory that is TRUE until the Author says it isn't." The Bible was released in 1998, two years before GGX was released. That should tell you something about how much impact the story info has on game releases and why it's too soon to say it's a retcon when we don't really know. I think if we hear of any sort of retcon about it, it will be in the upcoming Anniversary mook.

Actually I'm not 100% sure on that. Tyr is a being associated with Fenrir who bit off his arm and merged with it. About all we know is that his presence has interacted with Jinki in some way.

Like I said before regarding the Jinki, there's a lot we don't know. Currently there are only three (3) known Sacred Treasure Wielders. Sol: Firesealed Sword Ky: Thundersealed Sword Anji: Suppression Fans Of those three, I only know a few things: Fireseal has the power to enhance Sol's natural fire elemental ability which under normal circumstances needs to be charged. Equipped with it, Sol can further hone his fire-based attacks and focus on more physical combat without relying on his magic powers as much. To what end this affects his Dragon Install and the Gear Cell Suppression is uncertain, in most recent events we learned that Sol's Dragon Install is corrupting the Limiter, meaning it won't be long before it can no longer help him retain a human form. If Fireseal has something to do with this, we won't know exactly until it is explained. Thunderseal was granted to Ky along with the title of Head Commander of the Sacred Order of Holy Knights. The element of Lightning is considered one of the most unpredictable and difficult to control, and yet somehow Ky is able to utilize it proficiently, such to the effect that he can utilize it with non-deadly force to stun enemies instead of kill them. While his use of the sword seems to grant him great amounts of power, we can't be sure if the sword itself puts him on equal or near equal terms with Sol's power or not (though probably not). We learn in the GGXtra Manga that the Jinki resonate with eachother when a being/Jinki of similar powers has awakened, namely Tyr. Lastly, in something of a key element to the story, Ky sacrifices the powers of the Thunderseal in order to erect a Time Seal around the Maiden of the Grove so as to prevent her full sublimation/disappearance. I'm not entirely sure how this works, but it is because of this that he was able to save his Wife's life. Later on we learn that even though he lost the Thunderseal, his working knowledge of Jinki has afforded him the opportunity to refine his techniques and "customize" the new sword given him known as Aquila. We know next to nothing about this sword except that it seems to conduct powers similar to the Thunderseal which relates back to his style. Not only can he cast healing and defense spells with it, but it seems to afford him much more control over his attacks than before and a wider range of side-step movement, such that he is literally all over the place in his attacks. Suppression Fans (read: Zessen): are known to have been kept in a family of guardians for a time on the Colony. It is here we learn that they utilized the Zessen to erect a special protective barrier around the Colony that prevents certain kinds of gear bodies in space from falling onto the colony, but also seems to create an ideal place for another Jinki (Tyr) to be sealed. Though in truth it would not be long until Anji literally stole the Zessen from their erected place and put them to his own use, thus cancelling the barrier (though a certain item Ky keeps on his person could negate the barrier at any time, I'm not sure what this item is however). We also learn later on that the Zessen have the power to enhance harmonic resonance (read: sound) from beings that emit them, for example singing was able to reach an unstable Tyr who would have destroyed anything around him if not stopped. Finally, what I said before regarding Anji's Japanese Ancestry and how Zessen may or may not be affected by it. To what extent Japanese blood affects the Zessen I can only speculate, or perhaps it was programmed as such by Frederick, such as a security protocol of sorts. While generally speaking, Raymond does not appear canonical, I'm not entirely sure if what he says regarding each character is UNcanonical, as much of what he says has been confirmed previously (such as Potemkin's ID Number). So while the story of Judgment itself might be non-canon, the little tidbits mentioned specifically for each character might actually hold weight later on. So don't rule it out entirely. So exactly what IS OutRage? From what I've learned recently, it is the complete combined form of all 8 Jinki. Though it has a physical form, it also seems to have other forms as well. Frederick built it as both an Anti-Gear weapon, but also to act as a Magic Amplifier, that is to say it enhances innate or natural magic ability, which holds true with the fragments (Jinki) just as the whole OutRage. Frederick built this in response to That Man's distribution of Gear technologies to the various militaries of the world (this before Justice was unleashed upon the world and the Crusades began). While later on we learn that the U.N. broke it up into 8 Jinki and distributed the fragments among the Sacred Order of Holy Knights and others, we don't know how the U.N. was able to obtain it. What's more, the word "OutRage" has appeared in many instances in relation to Gear manufacturing plants. In particular, the chambers in which Gears were created have the word OutRage on them, and even more peculiar is the fact that Dizzy has a unique ring of magic that floats around her that bears her name, gearmark, and the word OutRage in it. What this means in relation to the OutRage that Frederick constructed as opposed to the Gears created by That Man, I have no idea. ----- My speculation regarding this, is that the OutRage was created with a certain construction theory of Magic Amplification in mind. While the Jinki fragments themselves seem to grant powers that exceed basic Gear magic powers, they seem to be put on equal terms with Command Type gears in terms of support and enhancement. Specifically regarding Dizzy, it is pointed out she has the ability to revive downed Gears. While this may or may not be related to OutRage, the possibility is still there. At this point, OutRage covers a huge spectrum of magic elements and chords of varying degress, but such complexity as Gear Sublimation appears to exceed the limits of what individual Jinki can perform as we see with the Thunderseal's disappearance. Only time will tell if we learn more about the OutRage and the parts and meaning behind it.

So how far have you ever gotten in Survival Mode?
Blade replied to Blade's topic in Guilty Gear General
I dunno why but I never bothered to post my FAQ on Survival Mode in AC+ here, so I think I shall: http://mimeblade.oddigytitanium.com/Guilty_Gear/Guilty_Gear_Quote_Project/ACPlus_Survival_Mode_FAQ.txt Apologies if this seems messy, but I was just trying to list as much of what I found out as possible. -
I'm trying to find a good quality sized edit of that if possible Suzaku...you know...Poster/Wallpaper size? I don't suppose you could do one at a bigger quality? Also looking for a bigger version of this with fixed middle: http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/3113/toothachehq0.jpg

Duely noted, rtl42, sir. .... Another tidbit I found in Guilty Gear Judgment the other day, apparently only those of Japanese Ancestry have the power to control the Zessen. This whole Outrage/Jinki thing is starting to become more and more of a mystery to me. Particularly since Frederick built it. And yes, Anji's nickname is Kakukyaku "Glorious", though I dunno what it refers to.

Holy Inconsistency Batman! Sol, Ky, Dizzy, and a bunch of other character arts from GGX don't match up with the art given as their "GGX Art", including Justice and Kliff's art, Justice's GGX+ art dates back to GG in fact. Lots of GGX and GGXX crossovers abound in production it seems. Not to mention Kliff and Justice have had the same music theme since GGX+

You know....EX Order-Sol isn't that hard to unlock in AC+...he has the same D.I. Volcanic Viper as a Forcebreak now. 10 hits. Just wait till you get AC+ man. It's not that hard. -

Wow this thread looks weird with my posts deleted from it. Tragic's been haunting me again.... I was at level 999 with I-no and screwed up at the last minute against Gold Order-Sol...that bastard.... -
Going out on a limb here, but has anyone tried to clean up some of the 2-page spread artwork of D.I.'s? There were a few in particular I liked, such as the one where Sol is fighting a giant monster thingie and breaking the tooth off it. And also another one with Sol and Ky battling Gears. There's more "spreads" out there, but I haven't seen decent quality versions of them. Anyone willing to help me obtain them? Also, looking for some "cleaned up" renditions of original GG artwork...I know they have GG Cards and GG Bible character scans...but is that all there is? One more thing, I'm finding A.B.A.'s GGXX Slash full-body character portrait to be elusive...just as elusive as any hi-rez portraiture of Kliff and Justice from AC+. Any help would be appreciated.

Just in case it hasn't been established, I AM actively seeking competition in the Milwaukee, WI and Waukesha, WI areas. Anyone who lives in this state or near here should look me up. I don't just play Maniac all day, foos!

Mishima? Hmm...from what I saw there's no grappelling or wrestling moves for either of them. Sephiroth plays like Washizuka from Last Blade 2, and Cloud is...well...Cloud....he smashes stuff. Butz is awesome from what I see...he uses everything from attacks to spells and everything in between. I read a few movelists a while back and they are indeed great.

Honestly, I'm sick and tired of this whole fighting game community's opinion that everything has to be deep as the 9th Layer of Dante's Inferno for a game to be considered "good". I don't really care if it's Smash-like...or if it's like Punch Out where you got 2 buttons for a left and right fist... If the game is fun, PLAY IT, that simple...not everything NEEDS COMPETITION to be fun. To be completely honest, I "collect" fighting games. Sounds like a bizarre idea to most of you I bet. But I have never once played them with the intent on assaulting the gamepad or joystick by mashing, even if a game is "mash worthy" as people seem so passionate of categorizing them. And what gets me most irritated is when people actually throw games out the window if they don't so much as make a single neuron of your braincells fire. If you want to "think"...play an RPG for god's sakes...this is a fighting game...it's intended as stress relief. I'm tired of ranting about this and all the other nonsensical "hardcore" bullcrap tourney-freaks spout. You can keep your quarter-chunking authenticity obsessions, I'm done with you.
