ABA's Story Part 1: A.B.A.’s Story Slayer relates an old story of his by starting off with a toast (drinking with the audience). He begins by relating how ordinarily a drinking glass is still a glass, until it stands on its own. He talks about what things will do to obtain their wishes, even if they are considered inanimate objects by others. Slayer states the year as “25 years ago”, assuming that he means 25 years before GGXX, the year he recalls would be 2156 in the midst of the Crusades. He refers to this story as “Shinigami no Hanashi sa.” [A Death God’s Story]. Slayer relates that during this time of turmoil, there were many places that humans refused to dwell, and as such many “inhuman” creatures existed, even beyond Gears. Slayer decided it was time to go for a stroll and explore the regions that mankind named “No-Man’s Land” or rather uninhabited spots of the world. It was in these places where conflict and Holy War were common, where destruction was rampant and anything inhuman was considered an enemy. ~~~ A giant beast tramps across the land, growling and roaring. It had apparently been the lone survivor of a great battle, and yet it still craved even more battles... Slayer was curious so he went to take a “closer look” at this survivor. Slayer introduces himself with his bravado (“As soon as I see you, it’s over…”). The creature wastes no time and swings widely with its massive claws, blasting Slayer into a wall. Slayer’s impressed, but says it’s a bit excessive and rude. The beast presses further into the attack, but Slayer dodges expertly, saying it’s lucky he DID dodge. He commends the beast saying he’s a fine warrior. Nagel: “I don’t care…even if I’m called a legend by humans…” Slayer’s surprised he’s all alone, given the circumstance. Slayer offers to “get serious” with him, saying he was rude to misjudge this creature, but even so, he is a hindrance to human existence. The beast shrugs it off with a “Whatever…you better get ready for my strength” retort. Slayer wonders if he’s just picking random fights, though he doesn’t care either way. Nagel: “My name is Flament Nagel. And anyone who doesn’t want to bleed should just go home!” Slayer asks what sort of creature he was intended to be. Flament says he was a weapon. Slayer says that this alone is good enough for him to fight, saying he can come at any time. Slayer wants to see what moves this Flament Nagel has at his disposal. Nagel takes this as an insult and rushes him directly, though Slayer dodges cleanly, saying this just made him yawn. Nagel goes all out with a flurry of swipes. Slayer dodges these with ease, saying he’s starting to get interesting. Slayer starts off with his Mach Punch. Flament Nagel blocks it…asking him if that was his “true fist” mockingly. Slayer says that if this were a game he hasn’t started having fun yet. The two glaringly clash in their attacks. Slayer says hold on…Flament Nagel asks him if he realized it yet. Slayer says that he noticed the body isn’t conscious and that the “true enemy” is the weapon embedded in the body. Flament Nagel says most humans wouldn’t catch on to this fact. This is because he is known as “Setsuna no Shura” [Carnage Incarnate]. Slayer says that may well be, but he isn’t fighting a human at this juncture anyway. Slayer really doesn’t care what Flament calls himself. Flament Nagel demands that Slayer acknowledge his strength. Slayer says for him to show him. Slayer: “Endure this! PILE BUNKER!!” The roar of the beast Flament Nagel echoes across the wasteland as the shockwaves resonate. Slayer: “Farewell…you were pretty fun for a while” And with this Slayer walks away. ~~~ More later...

If you're talking about the Official GGX manga, I believe Raging Tofu and and Rallamajoop have that covered. http://dustloop.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3268 Edit: Thanks a ton, Nekich.

Theria said she isn't going to, I guess it doesn't interest her or she's too busy or something. Raging Tofu and I were discussing things/swapping notes so we'll do what we can.

I don't know, either way...but assuming Sol killed Justice, it's possible that that event didn't happen, but then again he might have spoke with Justice during that time. As for the Outrage, again, nobody knows so it's not safe to assume anything, even retcons at this point.

First of all, when quoting someone, it's impolite to include the picture they posted, just leave the url out of the quote. Or maybe that's just my preference. Anyways, don't assume it's Eddie because this pic was drawn for Lightning the Argent (which takes place BEFORE GGX People!), which means that it is either another character altogether or perhaps the thing from the ceiling is just a broken gargoyle statue. Regarding that, in another pic: http://www.guiltygear.ru/images/gallery/ggxplus_sm_so3.jpg Sol's third Story Mode Ending in GGX+ only features THREE Henchmen, so maybe that pic is decieving, or we just don't know. In any case: THAT MAN--Wears a cloak with the words "Heaven Made Man for it's own Reason, Men Respect Men for their Own Sake" etched into it. He is referred to as "His Holiness" by Raven, and Gearmaker by everyone else. Sol just calls him "Ano Otoko" "That Man" In some respects he reminds ME personally of an ascetic monk. He seems to be capable of existing in the high-density dimension of The Backyard for long periods of time, which he says would crush any normal human being (he compliments Sol for finally attaining a similar state with his body). Unlike the others, he is not immortal, but instead his age is reversing. Justice at one point is quoted as saying about him to Ky Kiske, "Remember well, young Knight, even if I die, the Gears will not! As long...as long as that man...still...lives..." Raven "The Undying Disease"--Seems to have changed appearance in various incarnations of himself (i.e. number of times he's died), from spike growths throughout his body to a single spike through his head and metallic claws, wears the logo "Live" on his clothes, and the phrase "My body is a temple. Well, we shall see..." etched in another language. The first time he died took place in the Dark Ages. He says in his backstory that he fought in a northern army (Norse?) and when he was killed everything faded to white...then he found himself alive with his wounds beginning to close...not sure if his origins relate directly to Axl, but the two share a coexistence polarity where one cannot be in the same proximity of the other. That Man states that while Raven is unchanging and constant (in Timelines), that Axl will always shift when in proximity. Whether or not every time Axl jumps in time because Raven is nearby is unclear, however. But it might suggest that Raven's movements near Axl are part of the trigger. Other things to note about him: In LtA Novel, he is capable of dueling with Faust in a spatial warp battle and winning. He is also capable of turning into an astral projected Raven himself, and firing his signature move "Traurig Sieger (Unhappy Victor)" energy spears from his body. Sol "The Immoral Flame/Flame of Corruption" has yet to best him in the times they have fought. Raven states that he is willing to protect THAT MAN at all cost, though THAT MAN dismisses the idea and says he will have a more important role of bearing witness to History. I-no: What we know is that she has altered history to suit her tastes, even going so far as to brainwash Ky so that he does not remember the encounter they had (i.e. removing his memories of her). That Man refers to her power as "Temporal Change" but she says that's not exactly what it is she does. She has the power to control soundwaves, alter sound current (i.e. air flow vibrations related to sound), since she can control air and sound, flying is easy. She is merciless, unpredictable, and probably a wild-card, her alliance with That Man might be temporary. Though Anji Mito somehow managed to outsmart her and seal her up in crystal as a favor to That Man in AC+, we don't know if that actually happened. Her ultimate goal seems to be to put all the "stars" on the "stage" of history. Her guitar's name is Marlene. I-no refers to Justice as "Trash to be Discarded", among other Gears That Man has created. She playfully refers to Sol as "Kusou Yarou" as a nickname more than an insult though it's a bit of both. Axl claims to have seen pictures of her throughout history, perhaps relating to the Gear Project, perhaps not, we are uncertain at this point, though he claims to have a crush on her, despite his girlfriend Megumi. Conehead/Pinhead guy....?????????????????????????????????????????????????? He has only been seen TWICE in artwork, and not once has he spoken in dialogue or been referred to in the novels. Gargoyle/Eddie-looking guy...??????????????????? Not sure, again, never spoken of, and only seen in the above LtA picture (my previous post).

@Lou 1. "That Woman"...lol....sounds like "That Man"'s distant cousin. 2. Somehow I don't think Anji's the type to wear a goofy "tube" hat, going by the silhouette images I've seen of That Man's henchman...and he's not some creepy thing crawling along the ceiling like in the Lightning the Argent Novel pic.

Really, A Country is a sight different from "our" America, in fact it isn't remotely like it at all from what I understand. America is apparently dissolved in this era and is more a collective of territories that stayed together on the continent, to say nothing of what got destroyed during the Crusades...

Truth be told, I was shocked when Aksys officially called her "Maiden of the Grove". "Kokage no Kimi/Maiden of the Shaded Tree/Bower" was the translation we've been going by for the longest time...of course many people would say that's blantantly deliberate to hint at Dizzy since her stage is called Grove, and Dr. P's ramblings...but that's not enough to convince me, though, not even the Lore. Hell...if we're going to take it this far...I might as well say I'm not convinced Faust is Dr. Baldhead until he actually ADMITS IT. That, ladies and gentleman, is called fan loyalty sans speculation.

Common sense would tell you to use your Organ when surrounded by allies...or at least in front of your Master Ghost...

Honestly, I was playing Survival Mode last night with Sol and nailing Clean Hits like 90% of the time...then again I felt safer doing it with Yellow RC+Full Tension Bar+Tension Increase. @Luigi: Grand Viper isn't the kind of move that links well after a long Gatling String IMO, number of hits has got nothing to do with it. I've gotten Clean Hits on a 7-hit Grand Viper to be honest. It's either positioning, or you rev it so that Sol goes "underneath" the opponent (i.e. his back slides under them as they roll over his back). Best prep for that, damage-wise is 6H (either hit is automatic stagger). To prove my point about positioning though, you don't need to mash at all, just do Wild Throw on Ky and do a light Grand Viper, Clean Hit for free (though Sidewinder is better in that case).

I was expecting that, since it's a Fighting RTS hybrid. By the way the Organ is "split" between players in Splitscreen multiplayer so that issue isn't so bad there, it's the online sessions that concern me. And this guy...well, let's just say too many people were expecting another 2D fighter and he was one of them so he's putting too much emphasis on combos and not enough of the "wide combat" elements. That and...DAMN, USE TRAINING MODE YA IDJIT!

Can someone help me out, regarding Slayer? What are some good follow ups for a Ground Slide? (i.e. Pilebunker/It's Late CH).

This is my two cents, but bets should be public and registered if they want to participate. I understand fees support it and you have a player pool, but stuff like this needs to be listed, along with some way of contacting each person who threw in his money.

I second the notion for a subforum. This game has combos...I must SEE THEM.
