Hmm...for me, it's like Zekashis said, but also I take the agressiveness/smartness of my opponent into account. If they're expecting me to jump in, I go low. If they're blocking low, I try crossups or overheads. If they jump after me, I try and react with a safe anti-air normal. If they charge in after me, I use defensive normals that I know will punish what they got. In essence I watch what they do. And if they do something that I know can be punished with safety (moves with slow startup/recovery frames/gaps between them and the actual hitbox), I go for it. In a nutshell, watch what THEY do and what options THEY have, don't focus on what you wanna do because you may never win if you play expecting to do ABC combo.

Exdeath would like to talk to you. But seriously...Valk's normals tend to be....ehhhhhh...you tend to know when he's gonna use j.C based on players I've played...I'm not sure what it is but Valk players don't use mixup with him like they should, at least when I played as Haku versus Valk, Valk ate a lot of obvious D traps. Maybe who I played sucked using Valk but...I think Haku has more "game" than he does, or at least it's less telegraphed what Haku is gonna do.

IMO Astral Heats are the new Fatality.

Sorry, Skye, What are some good "safe" Arakune Normals that won't get me thrown by 360A or 360B or just Throw? I fight Tagers who like to block a lot and if I jump wrong, I get colliderd', or they block j.2A/j.2C and Buster me.
