  1. I don't know why reg Takuma is getting so much hate. I like his regular form. Plus, he's really good. That down down punch is basically an unlimited parry that allows you to parry during pressures whenever and how many times you'd like. Bad news, top tier to low : ( (Vanessa is now not so great in this game) I hate that people are picking up K' now. I mean, they're only doing it cause he's top tier. I loved K' before that crap. I'm not interested in Nameless to be honest. King is also upper on the tier list. (Her anti-air options, strong combos and projectiles make her really good as you could imagine.) My babe May Lee is middle upper now and no longer S (Damage scaling nerfed her damage output, the combos were shortened because of the properties of when hits land.) Heidern is annoying, but he's still pretty beatable. In the Tougeki Version, they nerfed him though. You can still super jump his projectile, it's just a bit harder now. Rolling kinda works, but thanks to his ridiculous reach he can hit you. His Down+Up Punch move is powerful, but it still has a bit of startup time in which you can hit him before it hurts you. You have to be careful about how you approach him due to the fact that his grab gives him a really good amount of health back along with his super grab. But the most annoying character in the game in my opinion? Kasumi. You can hardly recognize when she does her super counter. (There's no real warning except for her stance which comes out ridiculously fast) If she has super, you're scared to hit her (If she does it, punish with a grab.) Her Rekka can break your guard fairly easily and she can do strong combos. Her moves also seem to beat out a lot of everything that's done. If a person thinks they're good with her after picking her up for a second, they're pretty damned dumb. She's just really good. There are some good ones out there though.
  2. Poor - A person who has little to no currency. Iron Tager = Poor *Response* Get a job *Response Jobs - Something that are very hard to find in Michigan. (10% unemployment rate) Anyhow, I don't believe that pads are that bad personally. Whatever lets you play the game. It's not I screw up very often on a pad. : P
  3. Yeah, I've been curious about that too. I really hope they aren't screwing PS owners out of the game too cause I don't want to play on a shit controller to be honest. I mean seriously, when I play on the 360's "Fighting Pad" that was literally "Customized" for fighting games (If you can even call it that.), it's STILL crappier than a PS3 controller which you can buy once, not get ripped off by having to buy another controller for a certain genre, and not having to stare at an ugly gorilla's face every time you look at the pad.
  4. Not my words. DarkGeese is the one that told me that. @Vulcan Press down down punch during the middle of a pressure and see what happens with "Shitty Takuma."
  5. EX Takuma is slightly better than regular Takuma. But both of them are near each other. Oh, also, Goenitz is a legit character as well guys. : P (Just if you're curious)
  6. I wouldn't be so sure about that personally. I mean, one of Eddie's weaknesses is his health. I think the shadow should take longer to recharge. I think they should nerf his FB move personally. It takes up a large portion of the screen, usually he gets a lot of tension to spare cause of his ridiculous pressure which includes his shadow, it does really good damage if you don't block it (It's kinda simple to block, but it keeps you in blockstun so long and you almost always have to block it), and it lasts long enough to the point where his Shadow will be fully recharged by the time it's finished. As for Potemkin, I won't really discuss that much. He's so odd. I agree with Smooshman though. Either you rape with him or get raped.
  7. Well, I'm not sure how that might help him to be honest. Perhaps my opinion doesn't matter, but when he's not in the corner, he's usually zoning at a space just close enough so that he can attack the opponent and play defensively so that he can punish the opponent for either trying to make a move in or attempting to attack. It just seems like one of the last priorities midscreen for him is attempting to mixup up, because the opponent is trying to find a way in rather than being on the defensive. Johnny's pressure usually involve keeping the enemy zoned at the nice distance to in order to keep him in the distance he wants them to be and the enemies seem more concerned about getting within Johnny's boundaries rather than blocking him during pressures, unless they get in the corner, which they usually want to do really fast.
  8. Doesn't he use Iaido? A bit odd for a criminal... Then again, I've always kinda been a bit worried since he's on a ship full of fully stacked 14 year olds... *Shivers* I think back in the old games, wasn't he sent to jail or something?
  9. I think it's a fine overhead. I just suggested the overhead thing just because others were stating Johnny's mixup game is not great. I agree with what they're saying, his mixups are decent, but I don't think it would fit him well either... To be honest, I just added the idea of the overhead thing to avoid harrasment and keep with both sides so I wouldn't be either or. But it seems like if you say anything at all that anyone disagrees with, they give you Hell for it instead of being reasonable and saying "Oh, I disagree. I think ----" and so on. Though, now that I think about it, maybe it'd be a good idea if Johnny had combos that pushed the enemy to the corner a bit easier. I notice that a lot of his combos can get them an alright range, but usually he has to get a grab in or a couple of decent pushes to get them there. Also, even if he gets them to the corner, if you didn't knock them down there, the opponent can push back pretty easily at times. Depends on who you fight, but often times I see Johnny getting pushed back after working hard enough to get someone to the corner.
  10. I'm not sure why a mixup would be too good for Johnny to be honest. I mean, most of what I see from Johnny is good enough zoning to get his pokes in. He never gets too close though. So unless it was a decent ranged overhead or something, I guess that could work. But then again, people are usually trying to get in on Johnny cause once you get in his bubble, he's can get popped pretty easily. It seems like the best time to mix up is when the enemy is in the corner. But then, what's the point? You most likely have the enemy in a mist finer trap. His pressures are pretty short too, so mixing up with short pressures. His pressure is still good, but it's hard to confuse an opponent if you're not putting too much pressure on them and be a distance when doing it (Plus, his best pressures deal with using up coins, so you can't be stingy). So if he does get one, it'd need good range and probably have to be a bit fast. If anyone disagrees, please feel free to state your opinion.
  11. I see... That's a good point actually. I'm more bothered by the guard damage it's self to be honest, just cause all my super is gone afterward. It's hard to escape Venom's pressure, especially if you're in the corner. It's where he gets his best damage too and since the ball is so large, he can mixup without you being able to tell where he's going to do... Personally, I find the super to be good without the guard damage either, but it does add on to the fear. I'm more afraid of being in the corner though cause if I'm in the corner, my guard damage is basically guaranteed to be up with Venom's pressure, so high that they'll count as multiple counter hits, that's how he gets amazing damage from. Otherwise, he doesn't do too much damage outside of that, so I guess I see the point to that too.
  12. Why not? : S It's a ridiculously good super. It doesn't have to be a huge nerf, probably just reduce the amount of frames are in between each hit so it doesn't do ridiculous guard damage or waste ALL of your super. I mean, at times, you might as well not block it. Plus, it's ridiculously hard to get out of the corner when your character relies on super to push their enemies away or escape pressure. Though, I would like to hear your reason. : 3
  13. It's fine man. I remember when Mist Finer use to be really good. Better than it is now... It's much harder to set up currently and it seems like the only way to get it is to have your enemy in the corner.... Ah well. Maybe they can at least buff the Mist Finer again and that'd help. They have to give him some way to make up for the fact that all his good damage output is wasted if he doesn't land his hits right. - Nerf Venom's ball super. I can't tell you how much I hate that thing. Fast recovery, huge, kills your super if you super block it and just kills you if you're at low health and have no tension to super block, allows Venom to mixup like crazy, even if you see it coming Venom can anti-air you, pushes you to the corner if you're hit, it's one of the greatest supers I've ever seen. It not only compliments Venom's pressures, but it does more. Much, much more... Urgh, I hate it.
  14. Alright man. Sorry I got angry, I'm just saying that people should be a bit more curtious and such. I realize Johnny does good damage, if he can get some things in that require too much considering others can do the same with no cost. You know? I appreciate constructive criticism, but I appreciate kindness and being curtious more.
  15. I DON'T MEAN THE MIST FINER. I KNOW THAT'S UNBLOCKABLE! YOU'RE JUST CAUSING AN AMPHIBOLY! I MEAN HIS DAMNED QCF! WHY AM I EVEN ARGUING IF YOU'RE JUST GOING TO BE AN ASS?!
  16. If he lands COINS, his combos are "strong". But even if you do, you can't get a mist finer on them as easily as the old games and it's usually blocked almost all times. Second, GREAT? Are you kidding me? Slayer does great damage. Potemkin does Godly damage. Axl Low does great damage. May does GREAT damage. Hell, not ONLY does Eddie do "GREAT" damage, he does great everything! But his damage is way better than Johnny's and does it cost him a coin? Nope. Does it cost him super? At times, but it's more worth it than Johnny's. You're USING something that can be WASTED to get this "GREAT" damage. And your chances of landing this "Great" damage? Pretty low if you don't have someone in a corner and don't have mist finer out. It's hard to set up in my honest opinion, when the person knows what happens if he's hit. Also, I have watched Johnny videos. I'm referring more or less to his Average Combos that causes alright damage. I'm not talking about when you have someone actually in a corner and can PROBABLY cause the damage you need. So, my point? If you lose everything, you can't get good damage across. There are characters who at the cost of NOTHING can still do decent. And even then, Order Sol does pretty good damage without even having to charge up. So why the Hell should Johnny only do decent damage when he gets a coin off and has tension? Man, I wasn't talking about his max combo damage. Obviously that does a lot of damage, I mean his standard combos the gets when poking. THAT is decent. Just like how without Super, Robo-ky can do good damage, but with Super he can do great damage. Also, Zappa's dog is hard to control because you have to get him to COME to you, which is hard if you're being pressured and he's far from you. Sure you can keep pressing back and dust, but sometimes the dog is a damned moron and goes the wrong way, or just doesn't get to you fast. Now, before anyone else starts annoying the Hell out of me. - Make better AI for Dizzy's fish. They're so damned annoying sometimes.
  17. Well it's not great considering that everything else about him is average and it'd cost him more than others. His pokes and pressure are good. In the long run, most of his stuff is average. I refer to his average combos, rather than his max combos which are good, but even then, other characters can do around the same damage without the cost of something in return such as a coin or tension to false roman. : P Also, I was being specific about Bridget. So if you have nothing useful to say notsogos, then don't say crap. Man, I remember when the fighting game community wasn't full of so many #%#. If you DISAGREE, write why instead of saying crap. P.S. Did I SAY his damage output was bad? *Looks over* Hm, nope. Not there. I said raise it a bit. I didn't say his damage was crap, I just thought it would make him a better character if he could do good average damage instead of just decent.
  18. I think everyone should relax a bit. I know it might be crap news that they'll probably be making it "less complex" and such. Maybe it won't be so bad. We can only keep optimistic till the time comes I suppose. In the meantime, why don't we talk about some things we'd want in the game. - I want them to make Bridgette's yoyo a better okizeme tool. It seems like your best option is to always set it up in the air and do the unblockable. The other stuff can hardly save you and a knockdown is almost pointless since the yoyo comes out too slow to keep your opponent under pressure. - Increase Johnny's damage output a little. - Increase Ky's damage output. (I don't really mean his general damage, I refer to his max damage ouput. They could probably find a way to prorate it.) - Nerf Slayer... (I hate that 3 hit combo bastard T_T) - Make Zappa's dog a little bit easier to control. It's a bit annoying trying to get him to you at times and he can be a tad bit troublesome to work with imo. Maybe I'm just not good with him though. Well, that's all I can think of... For now.
  19. Hm. He made a list of very good points. Here are things I'd be missing if I couldn't FRC with Dizzness (Dizzy) Ice Spike - Couldn't continue a combo if I need the extra damage. - Couldn't make sure it's safe to do. - Couldn't continue to pressure. - Couldn't send out another fish as fast and potentially extend my combo so I can summon another fish on the knockdown of the continuing combo. Wheel - I don't use this too often, but there are times where it's saved me to continue pressures and such. - Throw out fish. - Trick my opponent for mixup. 2HS - False Roman for safety since it's kinda punishable. - False Roman into 2Dust for knockdown. People fall for it pretty often actually. - Can follow up with a mixup or float off into safety away from opponent. There's even 1 huge trick I can think of where False Romans have helped to make someone's mixups infinitely better. Skillia Rage. (Millia) This is an old trick that's well known I'm sure. Hair Car, false roman into her 6K overhead during a hair disc oki. Very, very useful from what I've seen. Hard to block, costs little super and can get you a good amount of damage. Anyhow, I'm not sure I'd go as far as to say False Romans are what the game what it is, but I can agree that it can be a pretty big aspect of the game after taking some though. You've made very good points Tolore.
  20. Don't get me wrong, I never said that I want easy False Romans. Cause I mean, it kinda defeats the purpose of why they're there. I'm just saying that if anything is simplified, that'd be one of the least of my worries, you know? @zdravkelja You've got a good head on your shoulders sir. I do the same. I don't know why, but every time I pick a character in Guilty, I go like "Wow, he's/she's badass, let me try this character." Then it's like "Wow, this character is amazing too, let me try this one." then I try another and well and well, you know where I'm going with this. Guilty Gear is such a kickass game and everyone is sweet. That should be more than enough to attract people.
  21. @Silhouette I kinda agree. It's odd cause I think part of the reason why False Romans are so gay to do is because they want to make it so you can't do them too soon but not too late. Though, it seems like a lot of the time, you want to FRC. It's more muscle memory rather than skill. I guess the only depth I can think about it is that you can recover faster with projectiles and using minimum tension while doing so. Anyhow, I'm not sure if GG being simplified would equate Blazblue. Though, I get what you mean. I'd hate if it turned like Blazblue to be honest. I personally like the game, but it's usually just, hit confirm, land the strongest combo, KIND OF set up a pressure, and hit confirm again, rinse repeat. Though, I kinda dislike the sizeable amount of "beginners" to be honest. They don't want to learn, they can get out in my opinion.
  22. Well, they don't seem to happy about it. I've heard several times that they'd be displeased very much if it were ever in a big Japanese tournament. But anyhow, on a top level, I still think Guilt Gear is more in depth. You're setting up more in Guilty and then you have to look at the factors involved within the game rather than just getting every last hit in. It's almost pointless at times to get every last hit in during Guilty Gear because of the guts and such. Though, I'm not sure I'd count that as depth, rather than clumsy development by allowing some characters to float cancel in the air (Storm, Magneto, etc...) in order to not only mixup, but continue combos that just might as well kill you instantly. From a combo perspective, MvC2 is probably harder. Not to mention that the blocking options in MvC2 are a bit more limited. In Guilty Gear, you're given multiple options to block, therefore, it's no contest that you could survive longer in the game. Plus, it'd be a hassle to keep blocking the Woshige trick (Hair car, False Roman, 6K) while Eddie does God knows what. Anyhow, that's just me personally. I think the reason Japan despises the game is not because of it's complexity but due to it's balance.
  23. You have a good point there Hecatom. It seems like a lot is based on advertisement actually. As a matter a fact, I notice that most of the things people eat, listen to, and play are based on the fact that there was some form of mainstreamed advertisement behind it. (That or a big name) Anyhow, I believe you may be right about that. Perhaps there is a good chance that because of the game's flashy combos, it may attract the mainstream crowd if advertised right. I mean, Guilty Gear has everything that could potentially attract a mainstream crowd. A cool image, an interestingish story (Depends who you ask), and an amazing soundtrack. (God help us all if they give the characters American voice actors that suck) One concern I have though is, even if we do attract a mainstream crowd... What about the gamers who are a bit more serious about fighting games, but figure out how complex Guilty Gear really is? They may feel intimidated or "overwhelmed" and then possibly move on to a Crapcom game. This is of course, more hypothetical. I want people to remain on Guilty for being Guilty. By the way, 1 more thing. People are saying that dumbing down Guilty Gear is basically making it Blazblue... I'm not sure if I agree with that so much just cause there's a lot missing from Blazblue that Guilty Gear had in the first place and Blazblue is literally, land a hit, get a combo and much less about setting up in comparison to Guilty Gear. @BBQ Sauce I'm not sure about that. I enjoy MvC2 and all, but I wouldn't call it that advance. It's basically, choose top tier, destroy your victim in a 4 hit combo, move on to the next victim and rinse repeat. If I'm not mistaken too, MvC2 is actually frowned at in Japan. At least, from what I've heard. Don't quote me on that.
  24. Yeah... I do see your point man. It hurts to say it, but you are right. GG might not get SF4's hype (It not being Street Fighter and all), and making it simpler may appeal to the mainstream more. *Sigh* Well, I guess we'll see what happens. God Help us all. (Partly joking with this last sentence)
  25. Well, I'm more or less saying that other than the USA, there are other places it's played often enough. Mostly Japan though, so it's popular in it's own country. Plus, it's popular enough in America to have a fighting game scene considering it isn't a Capcom game. *Shock* But my point was really that, something doesn't have to be popular to be perfect. I personally think that Ocean's Etude by Frederic Chopin is an almost perfect piece... The majority thinks Bad Romance by Lady Gaga is... "-_- But anyhow, catch my drift? : ) I just want a good old fashion, down to heart Guilty. *Things I want* - I want the damage modifier to remain the same. It was one of the things that made the balancing system genius. Even a character that did crap damage but had great pressures could get good damage to his pressures. And characters who did really good damage get it reduced so it won't just continue on forever. Also, it made doing extended combos almost pointless unless you were going for a bit of extra damage to finish off the opponent for good. - Managed Burst System. I want the burst to be the same as it is. If you hit your opponent with it, you gain a certain amount back. You gold burst and you get full super. You miss, you get nothing. For the less health you have, the faster it recovers. Down to every detail. - Prorating. I'm sure this will be in the game, so I'll move on. - Still somewhat strict False Romans. I know 1-2 frames might be a bit much, but still. If they are gonna make them easier, they should still be pretty strict. You're using up only 25% of tension while cancelling, having faster recover than even a roman which costs 50% tension. - I want all the characters that were in AC to be in the next Guilty Gear as well and hope they don't change too much from their former state. Maybe some added moves here and there. - Honestly, I really would prefer 2D Sprites. But if they're going to do 3D, at least I hope they don't make them look like utter crap just like SF4 did. - I want the speed of the game to remain around the same. Guilty Gear feels so freeflowing because of that speed. Guilty Gear is a very fast paced game in my honest opinion. - I don't want anything to be ridiculously obvious. For example, in Blazblue, I can see something from miles away and usually have a decent way of reacting to it. In Guilty Gear, so much happens so fast, you have to kind of predict what's going to happen next and how to deal with it before it does. - New characters hopefully (and most likely). If this does happen, I can't wait to see what Arc System does for the character to make him/her/them unique. (Duh) - I want the game to be balanced and fine. One thing for example is, I don't want Bridget to be crap (nor Johnny). Of course, Guilty Gear has always been good about this in general cause it seems like every and any character can win in the game. To put what I mean simply is, I hope that everyone has a really good advantage. Anyhow, these are just some of the important details (in my opinion). There are other things such as the Guts system and so on. *Sigh* Anyhow, those are just a few things on my "wish list"
