  1. I heard the game was suppose to be one of the most balanced fighters and such, so you're probably right. Anyhow, I kinda wanna start getting into this game. My only complaint about it is (I also have this complaint for Blazblue, which they're fixing anyhow for CS) is that it only takes 2 to 3 combos for the match to end. I don't know, I like lengthy matches for some reason, maybe that's just me. Anyhow, my friend told me that Tekken 5 and Tekken 6 are pretty similar as far as how the characters work and the combos are, the major differences being it has a "rage" system and some other thing that was added on. (Also more characters) But as far as already existing characters in 5, it seems that most are suppose to be pretty much the same, anyhow, that's all I've really hard. Anyhow, since I can't afford 6, I'm gonna stick with 5 (Dark Ressurection). My friends tell me that the game is basically juggling alot. Can anyone give me some insight on Tekken? To be honest, I've played very few 3D fighters through my times of playing fighting games. I've played a SHITLOAD of 2D fighters and put alot of time into those. I think the main similarities I see are comboing and blocking. But I'm no fool, I know that the World of 2D fighters and 3D fighters are pretty different... That's why I'm not that good at em "^^
  2. Well... I guess I'll point out something small here... If you predict that during his pressure, he's going to use the nails, sledge his ass (That might be obvious, however, thinking about that more gives you a slighter advantage). As you guys already know, that one Nail Super he has is mostly useful against Tager specifically and if you don't sledge out of there, chances are he's going to do his Command Grab, so be wary. I haven't faced my friend enough to know alot about Bang, but just as much as that, though, this stuff sounds a little obvious. Bleckh, hope it helps though

    is dizzy alive?

Well fellahs, you might have a new Dizzy on your hands. I finally have the chance to actually play this game in depth (Normally, we play dozens upon dozens of fighting games at my friend's house, and oddly enough, we don't play Guilty Gear Accent Core as much even though it's one of the friend's favorite fighting game). Anyhow, I'm considering maining Dizzy. I've learned some simple combos (6P, 5S, 5S, 5HS, 234HS being one I use regularly, though, not as effective I'm sure as some of the other combos she has I'm sure, but you gotta start somewhere). Anyhow, I'm still having a bit of trouble understanding some concepts with her and how she plays, but that's a part of learning I suppose.
  4. My Person and Basic Experience with Arakune... RAPE! I was doing well, kicking some ass, mindin my own business when all of the sudden, some Jin player who doesn't even main Arakune (on his tag) thought "Hey, this is a Tager player. Let's use Arakune because that's one of his worst match-ups!" And so he did... Anyhow, this is pretty much how the battle went. He moved away from me. He used his cloud. Spammed some projectiles. I sledged. He jumped in the air and sprayed a curse cloud out and kept teleporting to get away from me. He used his down A, B, or C and kept cancelling out of it to get away from me and go back into the air. Rinse and repeat (Except I didn't really sledge as much... I tried to magnetize him but some really dumb stuff happened like when I used Atomic Collidor, instead of landing into my hand, he flew all the way across the screen AWAY from me which obviously didn't help my game much) Anyhow, suggestions? By the way, I did go up against the guy again, I think he got confident and went to play Jin. I tore him apart.
  5. Say, you know Rhapsody of Memories? What's the best option for getting out of that? It's quite annoying to try to get past that move, if you sledge, it wouldn't be too much of a smart idea, however, if sit there like a chump, you'll have to start blocking both Nirvana and Carl, which can be quite confusing and annoying. Also, you know that Gear Super? I know that you can sledge in order to not get killed by it, however, let's say I'm behind the Gear and Carl's on the other side. Is there any way to punish him? The thing is, Tager is too big and can't air dash, so Super Jumping over that thing seems like a pretty bad idea. I was thinking if Carl was magnetized, you could probably pull him in with a 720 from the other side, but... I'm not sure about it. By the way, if Carl is about to do his Neutral B (That flag thing), how would I punish that? Cause normally, that flag is how the Carl's I face start up their combos if they have to fight alone (So they don't get a negative penalty). What about when he uses his Stiletto move (The move where he can repeatedly bounce off you in the air, not to mention it's much easier to do off of Tager cause of his big hit box.) How can I punish that annoying move? If he air dashes at me, what should if he's ready to attack me?
  6. *Sigh* My friend started maining that son of a shoto... He's pretty good with him, for some reason, he has something I wish I could have. The potential to be good with just about anyone in any game. Anyhow, the most annoying thing is that while he's hiding behind Nirvana, he's practically forcing you to fight Nirvana. Sledge and he'll punish you, not to mention that it's annoying to magnetize Carl. He's so damned short that when I do one of my combos, he can escape the last hit of magnetize, so I have to kind of improvise. I think one of the most annoying things about facing Carl beside the fact that Nirvana is in your way, is that it's harder to work with your magnetism on him since he's so damned small. Another thing is this... Example: Let's say Carl tries to rush you down from the air *Sigh* (I hate that '-_-) and you press 2C... He gets hit so high into the air and is so small that he flies so high and you have to be more precise with your atomic collidor in order to punish him. I have a hard time trying to hurt Carl even when Nirvana's out for the count. He usually runs away and if I slip up in any way, he's much faster and can punish pretty well... If I don't do anything, Nirvana's gonna come back and try to kick my ass... The most annoying thing is his super, long range, and you pretty much are forced to block both Nirvana and Carl... Anyhow, he almost forces it to be a match between you and the puppet. The only real advantage you have against Carl is that he has the lowest health in the game and is kind of hard to work with alone. But then again, he is faster than Tager and has quite a few of his moves have good range... It's annoying to deal with that little kid... The thing is, it takes around 2 combos to combo him if he doesn't burst, however, most of the characters take around 3... It's kind of hard to explain, I think the grab is the biggest factor in change rather than combos... When you use Tager's 720 on Carl, the match is pretty much almost won (or won). If you use his 360, it destroy his health... If you use a combo, it actually isn't that efficient and you probably won't even magnetize him cause of his shortness... I'm not saying rely on grabs, I'm saying that grabs are the biggest difference between winning a match with Carl and winning a chance against anyone else. OH! Also, I think this may be a fluke, but I believe that Carl's command grab counts as a "projectile", so you can sledge through that.
  7. I don't know... I have a harder time with using it, whenever I jump in the air, my friend is just really damned good at anti-airing me with Ragna. That move has invincibility on startup if I'm correct, so THAT doesn't help much. I try to do an elbow drop on him and combo into that which... Usually turns out to be a 50/50 and mostly if I'm trying to recover. By the way, I'm also struggling on recovering from falling. Whenever I'm about to reach the ground, I'm unsure what to do, and I don't want to be too predictable by doing the 2C so often. What is recommended that I do? I usually block, but that kind of leads me to being in the corner and... Well, Tager is kind of screwed in the corner unless someone messes up or there's some kind of small window of oppurtunity.
  8. Thank you very much sir. (I hate SF4 though, sorry to say '^^) Anyhow, I should start on the good news. I've been getting better at doing the 360 motion and when I was facing my friend yesterday, I was buffering the 360 really well. I also figured out what one of my other problems were besides knowing when to punish certain characters. As we all know, Tager's air game sucks... I don't really take advantage of the Atomic Collidor alone (Normally, I combo into it) or using Tager's 2C to punish into a combo. It's kind of a fear thing because I fear that I might not do the DP fast enough to get them or that I'll time it too early. (Example: If Player 2 is air dashing from me at a distance and I use it too early, making it obvious it's there, they'll stop and punish me.) Otherwise, I'm getting better at punishing however, I feel like I'm a bit too predictable sometimes. I might backdash a bit too much cause whenever I do that, my friend whom was playing Ragna, would do that one standing under he has that hits twice and you can't backdash it because it lasts too long and has pretty good reach. But I got in some good grabs, I'm still suffering sometimes on the 720 though. When I'm blocking combos and it ends, I can never seem to buffer it off the blocks well enough. It's harder since in practice mode, the AI is a bit too stupid to link a combo or pressure you. Anyhow, I guess I'll keep trying...
  9. Say, I'm not sure if this is a Tech Trap or anything... When I do Atomic Collidor (Opponent magnetized), can I buffer into the 720 and actually get them into it somehow? How do I do it?
  10. Well, true, however, I more refer to defensive purposes. The biggest advantage of this move is that, because you don't buffer it off of an attack, they can't tech it. Though, I guess in a way, it would be not so good because of how accurate you'd have to be, however, that just requires practice if anything, plus, doing it probably isn't all that beneficial otherwise... *Sigh* Still, it's interesting to know and possibly increases your handling better.
  11. Got it... I'll keep practicing... Also, that would explain it... When I'm in the middle of that multiple hit attack, I do IB because I thought you were suppose to. Got it, I'll stop instant blocking when he does that. The reason I started to do it was because I've seen the video with, I believe it was, Mike Z. whom instant blocked and buffered into a 720 from it. Anyhow, I'm a bit stiff when working with Command Grabs and seem to screw em up during the middle of a fight, and I become so undecided on when I should do them or if I should do them.
  12. Say, there is something else I wanted to ask... I've been practicing doing Perfect Blocks, however, I can never seem to get that 720 off... Also, let's say I'm in the middle of Jin's multiple hit move, how do I get a 720 while blocking that? Whenever I try, I think I might not be fast enough cause I do it too slow to the point where Tager stops autoblocking. Anyhow, I know I suck XD But can someone help me? To be honest, I mostly combo with Tager and am quite good at it, I try to trick the player with overhead moves, unders, sledging after 2D or other methods and such, though, I could use alot of improvement...
  13. Thank you so much for your offer, however, sadly and unfortunately, I can't play with you D: I play Blazblue via PSN... I've been getting better at buffering and doing the motions, but I still really suck at the application (Performing them in a real battle or when being attacked. I still have trouble buffering a little sometimes, because I keep timing it wrong sometimes. Anyhow, thanks again for the offer, however, due to the circumstances... T_T Well... Yeah "^^ But if you have PSNetwork as well, mine is Snaithe (My brother's idea for a nickname "-_-) Anyhow, I guess I'll keep practicing... Lately I've been screwing up because I try to backdash too much instead of blocking, but I'll get out of that bad habit... I'm great at blocking because of the experiences of getting my ass whooped in other fighting games (Normally, I'm blocking), though, lately, that's not been the case...
  14. @SolBadass and HZMN Thanks to both of you, oh and Sol... You're not the worst Tager player on Dustloop anymore, chances are that the title belongs to me now, as disgraceful is that is (Not because of you, but because my username is IronTager). Anyhow, cause of College I don't get enough time to put into the game, but I really really want to practice. Now then, to be honest, I already knew it was only a 270 XD I just have a hard time doing it cause I want to be able to do it fast enough. Plus, whenever I try to buffer from a backdash, I always get screwed T_T Anyhow, I'll keep practicing that 720... Does anyone have a specific trick for doing that? Like, are the motions 41236987412369 or is there a faster way to do it? Also, I can never find an good time to do it, especially if someone is rushing me down like crazy or something. >_< Sorry, I've never really used a command grab type character before, so it's kind of new to me, but I really love Tager, SO, I'm stickin with him.
  15. Say, this might be odd to ask, however, is there a "Grabbing for scrubs" thread around? I'm not so good with grabs, unless it's the standard grab. I can't even pull off a 720 consistently, I must admit that, though now, I feel a bit shameful having this name after saying that. Anyhow, I can pull off a 360s somewhat consistently, however, I never know when to do them. I really suck at using Command grabs and such. Can someone help me?
  16. True, but I barely have time to really even type that much and I barely got to watch the video, I had to head out to College so I can only read things here and there, plus, I have homework and two exams coming up *Sigh* I can't even stay on long enough to read it. @brilliant green Yeah, I can see what you mean, still though, if you get really good at it, it might trick your opponents, how many people would really expect you to do a 720 without jumping or Buffering?
  17. Wow... I didn't think it was possible... It has to be mentioned here somehow as to HOW he did it... Right? Does anybody know? It's a bit too blurry to see his controls...
  18. Right, bleckh, sorry, I wasn't thinking too straight and kind of thought it was a good theory at the time, not to mention that I got a bit desperate after seeing quite a few videos of V-13 just whiping out Tager. It's just such a bitch that there's so much that you can't do against her with Tager. Even Bang has a chance against her, but then again, he isn't as bad as people say in my honest opinion. Anyhow, I also want to help contribute because I wish to be of help to others, however, I don't have much to provide since my PS3 is always hogged up by my brothers *Sigh* Sorry
  19. Say... This might be dumb and I haven't tested this yet, however... Let's say, I DO B Sledge them when they're cornering me. What if when they come in to try to attack, you do a rapid cancel? I mean, would it be a good tactic to trick Nu players?
  20. Well, I'm glad to see that I'm not the only one who went here to see if there was anything to do against V-13. There's not much Tager can do against a good V-13- except wait for a moment that they might either mess up or trick them with a bolt charge. Anyhow, to help contribute http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0KgQbxKefs Now, this might not seem too impressive on Tager's end, however, if you pay attention, he's instant blocking most of the swords that V-13- is throwing at him. There's not much Tager can do, especially if V-13 is ready for that Spark Bolt. Tager is trying to close in a tiny bit with his Sledge, however, only bit by bit cause it's obvious he'd get punished if he gets too close to her... But of course, since he can't get close, this leaves room for you V-13s to keep Tager cornered. It's a bit risky getting close to him and I wouldn't recommend it unless he really screws up by doing something like his B Sledge to close in, allowing you to punish him, of course, I'm sure this was probably mentioned.
  21. Felt like I should add some stuff in here. While my friend is not the best Tager around, he still does a decent job, of course, Tager is not his main but there's alot you can learn from others, even if they have little experience. Tager: Here's a funny thing about Tager... Even if you're magnetized, you can use that as an advantage as another Tager player. Down Drive (2D) - There are a number of options if Tager does this. Backdash and buffer into a grab, perfect block it into a grab, super jump and do a 2C. This Drive isn't highly recommended to use, unless you know it'll land or you're facing a newb. Regular Drive (5D) - This doesn't apply as well, however, if you're magnetized and they decide to drag you in, you can kind of close in so they can "suck you in" and backdash to trick them, then punish. Atomic Collidor - This one is actually interesting. Let's say you're magnetized and he decides to drag you in with Atomic Collidor, I'm not sure if I just continued to get lucky, however, by pressing 2C (While in the air), I punished him for trying to drag me in quite a few times. This is especially good if you can Instant Cancel into a combo. Gigantic Tager Driver - This one is pretty simple and kind of applies to all characters in Blazblue and most fighting games in general. If you see Tager trying for a grab, simply jump and punish him for it. Also remember that if he combos into it, you can tech the grab. Voltic Charge - I know that it's odd that I added this one, however, remember that Tager is slow and this stops projectiles. Because he's slow, you get quite a bit of time to use Voltic Charge to your advantage. Also remember, because Tager is slow, his moves are kind easy to see so, perfect blocking them should be a small risk. Know Tager, realize how he works. He has a huge hitbox, take advantage of that and if he's not smart enough, he won't realize that he can backdash a Regular Drive move and you can suck him into your traps.
  22. I'm not sure if this was mentioned, however, I see Ragna's list is empty and can only assume that nobody listed it since there's little time for me to read the other posts. If I'm not mistaken, it's posted in the match up section that you can punish Hell's Fang with Tager Buster, so I can't see why Tager Emerald Buster wouldn't work, if you instant block or dodge it. By the way, I was thinking recently of posting something similar to this and think it's a great thread for learning. I myself suck with grabs since I never main them (Tager being the acception to this) so I have a hard time doing em. Anyhow, I was hoping that a thread could be made for a "Best opportunities to grab" type thing that's similar to this, however, consists more than just instant blocking into the grabs. I'm pretty sure that Tao can also be grabbed out of her D drive if you do it just right. I still have trouble buffering into grabs as well *Sigh* Anyhow, I should probably stop babbling. Good luck on this list.
  23. Normally, I do 6A>2C>Atomic Collider>F>6C>D There's another one I always do cause, the main reason I use this combo is to make sure I get to magnetize my opponent safely. I use another one almost just as much which I'm sure you guys know well. 6A>2C>Atomic Collider>F>6C>Spark Bolt>Magna-Tech Wheel
  24. Thank you SolBadass! Like I said, I do have trouble pulling off grabs, especially 720s. By the way, thank you very much, you have been a big help. By the way, I noticed you live in the Detroit area. Do you go to Wayne, cause I have a friend that goes there (I live in Sterling Heights myself), eherm, anyhow, these tips are very useful. I'll have to do a little practicing with Ragna just to get an idea of how some of his moves work, cause to be honest, I have no idea which attack is his 5D and such, however, when I do figure out, I'll be more prepared, not to mention your other tips are very informative as well. Thanks very much.
  25. Well guys, recently, I faced a good Ragna myself... He was pressuring the Hell out of me and I could find little to no opportunities to give him a good beating. Hell, when he used Carnage Scissors, he'd quick cancel out of it to make sure I couldn't punish, however, I keep having trouble even doing the 360 motion fast enough to punish him cause I'm afraid that it might unblock for some reason or another. The Ragna was no fool either, every time I'd try to trick this guy with some magnetism, he'd try to stick his distance, even if he was running out of me, he'd stop and try to move away if he was magnetized. Anyhow, he continued to attack me, trying to trick me and mix up a bit, however, I could never figure out how to beat him exactly. I will admit this, I'm no good at buffering into grabs, however, I don't think it'd matter way too much since he'd punish me right away if I use something like Down+D. Anyhow, I would at least get him to low health and such, but it was a hassle trying to punish him. Honestly, I didn't know what to do and got lucky enough sometimes where he'd mess up and I could punish, but if I have to rely on him messing up, that's not gonna cut it too much since it wasn't something that happened way too often and it's hard to punish a guy, especially if he's really good at cancelling. Anyone got any tips?
