  1. It's like Pot Buster FRC. If you do it on the last frame 2S won't connect. If you RC too late AC comes out and they punish you for it because you failed. I just RC as the snap sound happens and hold collider a bit.
  2. I'll also be sure to send a message when we are getting a gathering going. Bout 5/6 people and GGAC,BBCS,SSF4,T6,MvC2,ST and whatnot should be played. We have a crappy scene for smaller fighters but we all just about play everything. If you were big into Super 4 I'm sure in a few weeks there should be a gathering in Addison for about 20 people.

  3. You're about a half hour away from us. (We're a bit further West/around the Schaumburg area.) I'd assume you are right off of I-90 like everyone else is. There should be a gathering 2nd week of December to get ready for the Focus Fire event in LaCrosse, Wisconsin (Me and another BB player are organizing BBCS for them) If you have a car and was interested in coming out that'd be great, as for the train you have the antioch line if I'm not mistaken, and that takes you way north. Stupid Metra only has one hub. Union Station. =/ On the other hand if you had a bit of room at your place we could bring a few consoles + a semi-useful monitor. It's all possibilities at this point. Let me know later on what's possible. Also, if you were semi interested in Super 4 AE the Gameworks in Schaumburg is getting the board in 2 weeks.

  4. Well as a basic starter to on how to get ahold of you, the first question I'd ask is what suburb specifically? We're all over the place in the burbs and whatnot so that's key. Secondly is what days are you off work? We try to get a gathering every week (The BB/GG/Mishmash fighters anyway) or close to it so if you're in the area I'll be sure to let you know.

  5. Noel's 3C loses to *5C 5D 4D 6A Sledge 360A 720 MTW 5B 3C*
  6. And IB 360A is required if the opponent does something like Ragna: 5A 5D Fuck I'm gonna miss IB 360A'ing Ragna in the middle of 5D. It was funny. Q_Q
  7. Useless thread is useless for CS2. When CS2 drops I'll go through the same shit and pray that IB'ing is still viable. If not, I'll probably end up having to learn the game/tager instead of just learning how to IB punish.
  8. Then why don't you post up on SRK's Wisconsin thread. I'm sure people there are willing to give a ride/room for money.
  9. I nominate a disclaimer for the commentary. They don't know what they are talking about.

  11. Well there's a few factors that go into burst baiting. It works 5x better offline next to your opponent. First factor is the 'I'm going to die if I eat the rest of this combo so I burst' burst. Like if they burst a 2C FC or they eat spark bolt at 30% left. They have to burst to stay alive so more often than not they will burst before any extra damage is done so they can stay alive if they get hit a few times. It's about minimizing damage at this situation. Secondly is the momentum of the round. If they are dominating you completely in a round but you squeak out a CH 5C or 360A/B they really want to get back on their feet and continue their game rather than watch your combo. So they'll burst to get you to be thrown away and forced to tech into their mixup. Mashing. If you hear them go OMG WTF DAMNIT TAGER SO CHEAP BULLSHIT MASH BUTTONS after every hit, I bet they'll burst spark bolt. Trust me, if you can hear mashing, you can bait bursts. I do it offline a lot. Most bursts however have to be baited on reaction to what they are doing. Don't drop combos because you want to bait a non-crucial burst part of the match. Prove to them you will finish combos. I've seen many a Tager player not followup a 2C fatal because doing voltic charge to block their burst is better than actually doing damage apparently. There's tons of situations for it, but more often than not it's more reaction than prediction.
  12. Ukyo and Jerry are the only ones who live in Chicago that are actively playing Drinking. Anyway, good job Tager players making people look bad.
  13. Gotcha. I understand that one. I just see no reason to not instant block if you have confidence you can do it. I basically taught Chicago BB scene to instant block and it paid off. Valkenhayn is poop over here. Not to mention Robo Ky is broken right now since IB'ing with him gives you almost a full bar every hit.
  14. So I watched those SCR vids. Once again, major lack of instant blocking. I will never understand why nobody but myself attempts to instant block everything that is seen. Also, how come Mike Z gets to pick on the free guys? Combo droppers and what not.
  15. get at me
  16. Just do what you want. Don't let other people tell you your grip is wrong/weird. If it's landing combos it works. EAGLE CLAW GRIP FTW.

  17. Hah. I thought you guys deleted my thread. Nice to see it stickied. I'll start finishing it this week.
  18. Thanks. And I assume the X skin for Zero deconfirms X?
  19. His moves are all Japanese names, so it's a case of Street Fighter-ism. You don't say RISING DRAGON PUNCH. You say Shoryuken. He doesn't say MOVE I GOT FROM FIRE BOSS IN X4. He says Fuuenjin.
  20. Ryoko everyone is in the Suburbs! Post up on the Shoryuken Chicago thread! Get known! We will invite you to gatherings too!

  23. Not likely I'll ever do that again. First time sucked anyway. Too much Super, though I did win the mystery tournament. You should come on over to Focus Fire event in Wisconsin! December 11th 12th. I'll be helping run BBCS and VS! And there shall be monies! Get shiki to go too.

  24. Once you pop you can't stop. Magneto hits you with a tri jump HK? It'll happen again, and then he'll go low, and then he'll go and put you in ROM/5Fierce/HyperTempestDHCHail. Simply once the first one hits, you can't stop it. It's too fast to react to. C'mon man, it really isn't that hard to understand.
