  1. This is what my friend does. He won't play something unless he's good at it. But he's not good at it because he won't play.
  2. are you sure his name wasn't saltblast0r
  3. Fuck. I can't find CS2. I think I left it back at my house. I'm going back this weekend though, so I can check then.
  4. The reason they tend to learn combos first is that those are easy to verify. You do the combo, and you can see if you learned how to do it. Stuff like hitboxes and spacing is more passive and hard to pinpoint, so they can't tell if they got good at it or what they need to do.
  5. I actually do it the other way around. I just use the character with practically no combo knowledge at first so I can just see what moves are useful. Yeah, BB was the first fighting game I went all in on, but I've played plenty before them that gave me experience with how it works. Well, I still played them as competitively as I could with my friends, but there was no netplay and no online guides or anything.
  6. Everyone's different. Some people take to something like water and others have to study it and be more deliberate. Not to mention mindset. The wrong mindset can handicap you for years.
  7. But you're comparing how well you are with X amount of time to people who've played 10X times more. You should be comparing yourself to people who've played around the same amount as you. You wouldn't compare a 9th grader to a college student, would you? You're on the same path, it's just a matter of making it as far down. But what Batousai said is best. I only want to be better than my previous self. I have more fun fighting people who can wreck me.
  8. mostinterestinglambdaintheworld.jpg The crescent wheel actually punished my bursts a few times in the matches I played with Toan last night...
  9. I was asking since you were dominating in the beginning, but then I went on that streak in the second half. I liked the 5A stuff, I always wondered what I would do if you started using it more often. I think I figured out a way around it though. Just gotta try it out. I face palmed when I IAD'd into your 4B. Your execution wasn't that bad. :P Just didn't have it perfect like usual.
  10. GGs Toan. I sure got rusty. Kept getting hit by random stuff. That's not exactly out of the ordinary though. I noticed you were trying out new stuff. Wakeup 2C, it's like I'm playing CT again! But yeah, it always was good against Hotaru. Also that gravity well was a pain to deal with.
  11. Isn't this kind of selfish? He's not playing BB to be your entertainer. If he likes playing Plat then let him play Plat. If you can't handle it then you don't have to force yourself to play him.
  12. So it's an XBL thing, huh. That was happening to me all week. Couldn't play anything.
  13. I was talking about in general. For some reason for me it is easier to block than hit a button though, not sure why.
  14. You have more time to block than push a button. You have until the very last second the overhead hits, to hold back and block. But to hit them out of it you have to attack a lot earlier.
  15. > playing game > balls good night
  16. thats the opposite of christmas
  17. That's something I've always had to deal with as Hakumen. Had to develop all sorts of different tricks to deal with people's teching habits.
  18. Why did he cancel into the VC 720, couldn't he just have done 5A > 720?
  19. Longest session I ever did was going 100-99 in Soul Calibur 2. For BB it was 90-3 or something.
  20. He needs Dhalsim's weird aerial headbutt spin move that comes from the sky. Like a Tager j.C except he spirals downwards towards you.
