Well, I remember specific habits and things they do. I just don't write them down. It's actually easier for me to forget if I write it down. There's been an observation made that our memories have gotten worse when dealing with trivia and knowledge in the Google age because we can just look it all up now. Your mind adjusts to the fact that something else is keeping track of it and uses that space for other things. For instance, I still remember my friends' home phone numbers from when I was a kid and had to memorize them before we all had smart phones, but I blank on any of the numbers I have now. You make the mental connection so many times it becomes a kind of muscle memory.
