That happens a lot. Guy gets hit by random move he decided isn't allowed in his imagination and he just puts down the controller.

Done.

That's like saying you want to enter a body building competition without getting in shape. He just doesn't actually want to play the game.

[CP] Hakumen VS Kagura: You call THAT a sword?
mAc Chaos replied to mAc Chaos's topic in Hakumen Matchups
I thought: "He has a bigger sword and longer range, so that means I'm the one supposed to go in." nope WRONG -
I was never good at yomi 5C. Throwing it out there always made me feel so vulnerable. Aside from AAing stuff. --- I'm going to start filling out the matchup threads. At least the ones I'm familiar enough with, once I get more experience. Mainly the CT cast. The hardest part is always distilling what I learned through play into actual information. A lot of higher level stuff is fluid and debatable, so instead of getting stuck in an endless loop of trying to figure out which part is suitable for matchup advice I'll just do the basics. ie, what normals are good here, what you can punish. If you guys have any MU experience you should drop some info too. Also general strategy involved; I lost endless matches to xharakusan's Kagura before I realized I was supposed to be zoning him out instead of going in on him. Made a huge difference. Although out of sheer stubbornness I want to defeat his up close game anyway.

What UNIEL character would you say Azrael most resembles gameplay wise? Or none? One of my friends who's a UNIEL player is trying BB for the first time and liked Azrael. Or at least thought he would have. He said his normals feel super slow; how are you supposed to get around that?

What makes a character good? CPE discussion and help needed
mAc Chaos replied to liquidrain's topic in Beginner Mode
Now we're getting into "what does /good/ mean." Imagine if there was a character that had shitty normals, everything was -50 on block, but they had some instakill combo or one trick that could make them get 7-3 matchups across the board because of some sort of glitch like Carl's clap loop in CT. Are they a good character. -
Man it even misses Jin 2D... RIP

Go ask in the Celica subforum.

I was actually going to refer you to this thread but kept forgetting.

The new 4C is great. Maybe I'll regret not being able to combo off it later but for now I love hitting people out of so many moves. And actually you can still combo off it, but it's just small. It can combo into itself or 3C on CH, I noticed so far. It still has the weaknesses of old 4C though like getting low profiled or airdashed over so don't go crazy.

It doesn't matter, just pick one. But the important part is: why are you doing those things? You have to break down each choice with the pros and cons, what the other player might do, what you gain from doing it, what you risk, what they gain and what they risk. Once you do that you can see what kind of things make sense to do and what kind of things you should do to stop what the opponent wants to do.

Start small, with one situation. Let's consider Ragna's wake up in the corner. No meter on either side. Both have no burst either. Let's say you're Jin. Now think of all your options in this situation, and Ragna's, and the risk each one takes, and the reward they'll get on both sides (damage? meter? getting out? mixup?). Once you've mapped out the risk/reward you can make a better decision about what to do when. You have to understand the other character's options too.

So you have no self awareness when you play. You have to be conscious of what you're doing or you won't figure out your mistakes. How can you if you don't even know what you're doing, literally? It sounds like you're playing on auto pilot. Do you think about specific things to do or do you just zone out and play? Anyway if you want a cookbook for every single possible situation, there isn't one. You have to figure that out yourself through play experience and experimentation. What people here can do is point out the concepts missing in your game and if you go to specific subforums, which tactics and blockstrings are sound to use. I myself don't have a set list of blockstrings I use; I improvise based on the opponent and situation. But each move I do during the string has a purpose.
-
It's the hitbox.
-
Basically you should think of what you want to actually do with the pressure in each situation: stop them from jumping out? Lock them in blockstun? Set up a mixup? Etc. Then you decide what the strings should be. It sounds like you just run in there without knowing why and start doing random moves hoping something will happen. There's your problem.

see me in 1.1

According to talk in the BB general thread, a new patch just fixed the meter glitch.

I don't hate playing you. I find your reactions amusing.
