  1. based on my netplay experiences, the idea seems to be that you DP after this move for BIG PLAYS. But her neutral game seems fairly lacking. I've taken to double jumping around a lot, pressing jB, and sometimes using j214A to bait and punish 2B. A lot of it seems to just be waiting for the right opportunity to get in.
  2. I haven't been to any local events due to being out of town, and then being broke as fuck. But now I have P4A and my gaming laptop is broken. Lack of melty blood angers me greatly, but my final reason for not going (too busy being horrible at dota2) no longer applies so I may actually show my face at events again.
  3. how do I bait bursts with this character when she only has 2 moves that I can jump cancel? nobody seems to burst 5A and 2B is kinda slow. Seems that as soon as I hit 5AA/5AB it's a free burst and there's nothing I can do about it without using up 50 meter. I don't know how to handle this situation.
  4. The game would feel smoother if it had Hisoutensoku's 4A, which allowed you to do repeated standing jabs without going into your autocombo. It doesn't need it, but I've always used standing jabs as pressure. I only play labrys, and the second hit of her autocombo is only cancelable into specials, making the pressure that I'm so used to not work very well, aside from just waiting for recovery and then doing 5A again. complain, complain, I guess. Also, I've noticed that there seems to be a delay before you can jump cancel moves, both on the ground and in the air. For the past 2 years I've played melty blood pretty heavily, where you could do cancels as soon as things hit, so the delay really gets to me, especially when you have moves like jump BB and your combo is jB djB, since I'll always get jBB because I press B expecting the jump to happen. To be more specific, it feels like the jump cancel frames happen after the chain cancel frames. In the situation above, I'm inputting B9B in the air. One of Aigis' challenge things had me do some starter into 5AA 5B jC. Inputting 5AA5B9C would end up doing 5AA 5B 5C.
  5. You, as Fritz downloading Lark or you downloading Lark, who was Fritz? Forgive me, I'm a bit slow.
  6. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLlmuvxwjDk Shoutouts to everyone who sat there and played MBAA with me so I could figure out how to play against actual people before the tournament and thus not look like a total idiot during my matches. Shoutouts to all the people who played ABK, even if it was for a short time.
  7. It's not supposed to be in all caps, I just have terrible handwriting.
  8. I'm thinking about finally getting something to put on my stick. I don't really have a strong feeling for a single character now so I can't really adapt my old design. However, I was trying out some random pictures just slapped on the template and I found this to be really awesome, I might get it printed.
  9. ggs to all the people who played umineko with me. I'm terrible with names but that shit was fun. we should play more next time.
  10. Just got back from kentucky, and in perfect time for this. Amazing.
  11. 2 out of 56 i'm going places fast. would be better to try learning this later when I'm doing less things. It won't cure stupidity, but I might remember how to autopilot things.
  12. Had this sitting on my computer for several months, and just today got around to doing some netplay with a friend. It's magical. We were both amazingly terrible, but damn. I've played my fair share of random crap, but for the first play, this was the most fun I've had.
  13. 2K damage midscreen now average? I guess with the changes to what can be normal guarded in the air we might be getting a few more combo opportunities, and just building damage in little chunks. It sounds like soku, as far as damage goes. Not cool.
  14. Holding 4 is the love of my life
  15. Actually, it makes me wonder. Is the movement on the second hit, the first hit, or both? Movement on the second hit would possibly allow for stuff to work from first hit. Hitconfirming the block would mean you could throw the second sword to push yourself back then do spikes or wheel or whatever. Wouldn't help make it safe on whiff. If it was a bit of movement on both parts, doing one or two swords before canceling into whatever would add to small adjustments of positioning, which could be helpful for getting the proper spacing if you want to cancel into the wheel. I wish there was video of the move. What I have in my head is her moving back about the length of her leg in 6B. I'd laugh if it turns out to be just her dropping back a few pixels with the intent just to mess over comboing into 236B.
  16. 4DD moving lambda backwards seems interesting, really depends on how far back it moves her. I may be overthinking it, but it would give her more space on block.
  17. I'd love to find a way to get things recorded. The setup was in my bag. Sadly I wasn't able to take a good look behind the TVs, but from sticking my hand back there I counted at least 3 rows of extra ports. One of them may be component out, which is what I need to record. Again, can't really know if I'm not back there. Chances of me going to another saturday tournament aren't that high though, transportation issues. Still, it was fun and I'll go again if I'm able.
  18. fuck traffic also, my make shit up combos are apparently beautiful.
  19. From what I understand, it's the result of trying to extend the life of the PS2 this much. Poor thing can't handle the stage as well as the game.

  21. Holy crap the 4B thing actually works. I used to do that in CT, I can't believe I forgot it.
  22. He has reception.
  23. I don't actually do much with life right now, so I can play whenever. It just takes about an hour to get there, plus whatever walking I would need to do to get to wherever we meet.
  24. never played those, but I can throw some time into VS, it looks interesting.
