[XRD] Sin Kiske Gameplay Discussion "Playing with Poles"
Eshi replied to Ventus Tatshima's topic in Sin Kiske
The blockstun of a move on Instant Block is determined by the level of the blocked attack: http://www.dustloop.com/wiki/index.php?title=System_Data_(GGXRD) Elk Hunt is +2 on normal block and a level 4 attack, so according to the last chart it's -2 on Instant Block. Considering that it also gives much less push back and all of Sin's normals are slow, you have to cancel into Beak Driver or your pressure is over. -
I had no idea that RRC slowdown had forced proration. Weird. Good to know!
-
it's okay lol, long videos are a pain for anyone and I'm the mod, cant complain too much
-
I really like this corner throw combo! If you do throw RRC > 214S > 236[H], you set up the perfect timing for 236H loops. It takes more meter but I definitely think it's worth it for consistency. Example. Better example.
-
rofl so much work to timestamp all of this, fuckkk
-
Ah okay, the 5H low is super useless so I never used it and couldn't remember. It's definitely a good buff, it at least looks a little like 214S so not entirely unfeasible to hit someone with it.
-
I thought that always worked? But on a character specific basic, like how 2D > 236K doesn't work on Slayer.

[XRD] Sin Kiske Gameplay Discussion "Playing with Poles"

I'm noticing a lot of JP Sin players using j214S for okizeme. They jump in with the timing of a safe jump, but using j214S delays their air momentum so they hit/land later. I wonder how safe this is on block, or if it's plus? I am 100% sure that they do it to bait out wake-up throw mash and it looks very effective. -
Updated the first post with all of the footage! Thanks for helping & timestamping stuff!

yeah I didn't link that part because it doesn't demonstrate the block string part of it quite as well, but it's also hilarious to watch katsuyama try so hard to get out and get fukkkked

Think the gif that Zidane posted was broken? Watch this. I am LOLing so hard. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jDyOTWnsvc&t=1h04m45s

By the way, I used this K ball YRC idea a lot this weekend and was hitting people cross-up all day. This is really legit tech!

I think it's the LGP that causes lag? I have a rudimentary knowledge of hardware stuff but AFAIK all cables are lagless. A splitter gets around the problem since it routes the PS3 to both the TV & the LGP, instead of PS3 -> LGP -> TV.

There's 3 outcomes to this: 1) They air tech as early as possible and don't FD. 214S resets them for a huge combo. 2) They air tech as early as possible and do FD. Neutral situation. 3) They air tech slightly late, you whiff 214S and die.
-
You do 6P > 214S if you think the anti-air will counterhit, otherwise you do 6P > 5S and hope that you get cS. Venom has an identical consistency problem with his 6P.

damn that Sol's win was hella fraudulent, I'm mad now -_-

except jD is reactable. Requiring setup or some additional risk for a real 50/50 is a pretty fair trade-off. -

I'm watching a mikado 3v3 live stream on nicovideo and gaku came on briefly. I think his team lost so y'all will have to wait for the recordings >.> -

Sin's new 623S looks so good. I know it said so in the patch notes, but actually seeing blue hit 623S still combo into 214S makes me very happy. His hit confirms look so much more reliable now. Another thing about bursts not related to the conversation: hitting someone with a throw generates a TON of burst meter for them. So it's actually not a great idea to spam it as a mix-up. -
I haven't quit Venom, he's still my main. Sin is a fun secondary & the forum needed a dedicated moderator, but he's nowhere near as reliably strong as Venom. I haven't made anymore videos b/c I realized that my LGP introduced many frames of input delay and it threw off my execution in tournaments. I have a splitter now but need one more HDMI cable, then I can get back to making videos ^o^

Absolutely! I've been itching to update it but there's no freaking new footage ever and I'm not sure how people feel about nicovideo links. Once 1.1 is out and Final Round has ended, I'll update it consistently. -
Core Skills That Every Great Player Has Mastered
Eshi replied to thekiyote's topic in Guilty Gear General
Because that's not genetics. Brains develop and adapt over time as necessary, even at adult ages. Genes don't. Anyone can become a chess master by dedicating enough time to it, albeit the amount of time required changes per person. The same principle applies to pretty much anything barring people with severe disorders. Nobody is born with a brain that rewards the thoughts processes behind fighting games. It's something that develops over time. -

Not that specific. You just have to start the juggle as high as possible, it works on a bunch of characters. The number of reps depends on character weight & how high in the combo you start the loop as they keep getting heavier. Unless you're talking about the midscreen loop? I know it works on more than just Potemkin but it's much fewer. -
There is, but not everyone has a DP and you can also land after jH instead since it's deep enough that there's no gap with 2P > 2K unless they IB the last hit, which is really hard. If they're just autopilot inputting DP in this case then they'll get hit by 2K.
-
Sin can apparently link 2K/cS/fS/2S after jD if he's low enough to the ground, EX: low airdash oki jH > jD. This is really nice because j214S is minus/unsafe on block, whereas it's impossible to mash between jD and a link normal. Easiest confirm is jD > land > 2K > 2S > Elk Hunt > Beak Driver, or 2K > 2S > Beak Driver [1] > RRC if you have meter.
