  1. Sol's 2D will also low profile Sin's fS and Beak Driver, which makes footsies a little harder. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. after practicing it quite a bit tonight, 5D > cS > fS sets up Beak Driver loops perfectly 100% of the time including counterhit. They do not need to start falling, nothing needs to be timed. It literally always works.
  3. While this is true, the point of the first combo is to set up Voltic okizeme while using very few calories so you have meter to hitconfirm the following unreactable 50/50 for even more damage. Here's an example at 0:34 http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm25371338
  4. Corner dust combos for y'all - 5D ~ 6 > 5H > 6H > 2H (3 hit) > jK > jS > jK > land > 5H > IAD jS > jP > jK > 5H > 6H > 236H This combo still hits hard while working on a bunch of characters and taking only 1000 calories (no calories if you end the combo at 5H). It also gives the perfect spacing for Voltic super okizeme. Can do IAD jK > jS > jK instead on the larger characters. 5D ~ 6 > cS > fS > 236[H] > 236[H] > 236[H] > etc Not a full combo but interesting tech for the beak driver loop - while it's possible to get full charged 236H off of 5D, getting the timing perfect so they land on the ground instead of air teching for every character is actually quite hard. Beginning the combo with cS > fS fixes this timing issue perfectly.
  5. Here's a very important (IMO) hit confirm off of counterhit Elk Hunt, it happens fairly often as a frame trap mix-up and hits hard - Elk Hunt CH > 2P > cS > 5H > 6H > jS > j6H > j214S > j236H
  6. Now that it's official, allow me to properly introduce myself as the new Sin mod! I'm gonna do my best to clean up the format of content on this board and contribute useful information. I only just picked up this character but I really love him and plan to stick around for a long time.
  7. We're still finalizing our team for Atlanta, not sure of the last 2 members and should have it settled by the saturday after next. also, lol @ raekwon still playing potemkin, that liar said he was gonna switch! :P
  8. Elk Hunt also low profiles 41236S. Beak Driver will detonate his paper bag projectile early if it hits. I have a feeling that Sin goes dead even with Faust in Neutral. Faust range is slightly better on the ground but those same pokes got devoured by Elk Hunt. Sin's high/low isn't great but his pressure is fantastic & Faust doesn't have any fast normals he can mash to get out or a DP. I'll get lots of practice in the coming days with this match-up, I'll report my findings here!
  9. Oh, I already knew about that lol, I thought you meant they were changing his animations to be less annoying
  10. Discuss the Bedman match-up here. Bedman Board's Thread http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10076-vs-sin/ Pros - Cons - General strategy - Bedman's replay signs can be removed by attacking it, always clear them out whenever safe to diminish his neutral options.

    Sin vs. Leo

Discuss the Leo match-up here. Leo Board's Thread http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10068-xrd-leo-whitefang-vs-sin-kiske/ Pros - 3K is very good at baiting Leo's DP into whiffing Cons - 46H projectile is not negated negated by Beak Driver, you still get hit General strategy - Leo is a gorilla, once he gets close the match-up becomes much more difficult. Zone him out with your pokes and don't get pinned down by his projectile.

    Sin vs. May

Discuss the May match-up here. May Board's Thread http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10203-xrd-may-vs-sin/ Pros - 236H cancels her projectiles, hits her out of attempts to set summons and shuts down horizontal dolphin approach - 6P shuts down all dolphin approaches Cons - Very difficult to anti-air her j2H - Can low profile 236H with her 3K, though this is a hard read General strategy - Focus on winning neutral with grounded footsies. Beak Driver, 6P and fS completely shut her down. - Position yourself such that you avoid her jumping in with j2H and deny her any offense.
  13. Discuss the Millia match-up here. Millia Board's Thread http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10424-millia-vs-sin/ Pros - Cons - General strategy -

    Sin vs. Axl

Discuss the Axl match-up here. Axl Board's Thread http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10389-axl-vs-sin/ Pros - Sin outpaces Axl in pure damage & raising RISC level - If closer than full screen, you can hit Sparrowhawk Stance's low strike after block with 2P, low and mid strike with 5K Cons - Bull Bash is very bad since Axl can reaction counter it from any distance for free - Axl 3P beats wake-up DP hella free, never do it General strategy - Play footsies at midrange, Axl has no pokes that beat 2S in both distance and speed. Approach carefully to minimize damage from his full screen pokes. - Pressure very safely as Axl's DP will cleanly beat any poke, even 3K. Use safe jumps or Elk Hunt YRC to establish respect, and 236236P for guaranteed mix-up opportunities.
  15. Discuss the Venom match-up here. Venom Board's Thread http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/9922-venom-vs-sin/ Pros - Elk Hunter can go through pool balls, including S/H Sting Raid, and Beak Driver will neutralize them - Venom has no defensive options except for system mechanics Cons - Pool ball pressure & okizeme are safe against hawk baker 99% of the time General strategy - Play a very well rounded game. Shift between footsies & pressure fluidly since Venom can easily do the same - Be very patient on defense and favor back dash over DP - it often puts you in the air if you get hit and you can air tech out
  16. Discuss the Slayer match-up here. Slayer Board's Thread http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/topic/10163-xrd-slayer-vs-sin-kiske/ Pros - Beak Driver & Bull Bash completely shut down Slayer in neutral Cons - Guesses with back dash cancel & Dandy Step can let him punish your footsies General strategy - Focus on playing a patient game of footsies because your attacks completely shut down Slayer's ground approach. - Slayer wants to airdash over your attacks and whiff punish them since he can't win on the ground. By having some restraint in neutral, you can simply reaction 6P this approach and blow him up.

    Sin vs. Zato

Discuss the Zato match-up here. Zato Board's Thread None yet Pros - Beak Driver cuts through Zato's drills in neutral and can counterhit him. Cons - Eddie absorbs Hawk Baker and Zato can punish before it can be canceled General strategy - Be very careful in neutral since Drill and Eddie are very good at interrupting you. Backdash in neutral is good against drill - even if it hits, it will not give Zato hard knockdown - Focus on offensive pressure since Eddie's defensive options are very bad
  18. Discuss the Potemkin match-up here. Potemkin Board's Thread None yet Pros - Potemkin's large crouch hurtbox makes jH instant overhead extremely threatening - Beak Driver hits twice and therefore can counter Hammerfall - Spaced Beak Driver follow is impossible for Potemkin to counter, even with Slide Head Cons - Megafist goes over many of Sin's pokes General strategy - Heavily focus on footsies and spacing since Potemkin is slow and has difficulty dealing with Beak Driver

    Sin vs. Ky

Discuss the Ky match-up here. Ky Board's Thread http://www.dustloop.com/forums/index.php?/forum/326-matchups/ Pros - Elk Hunter goes under Stun Edge - Regardless of Ky's spacing, Hawk Baker will always clash with Ky's dust and can be canceled into follow-ups. Cons - Ky's Stun Dipper is incredibly difficult to deal with - it goes active before and therefore always beats your Elk Hunter, and low profiles many of your pokes such as fS and Beak Driver. General strategy - Respect the threat of Stun Dipper. You can preemptively neutral jump to whiff punish it, or block it and punish it with instant block. Don't try to challenge it.
  20. Oh wow, they are?! That's fantastic!
  21. I wouldn't say I'm struggling with any of them, it's just bothersome not knowing if there's an optimal way to approach certain match-ups that I'm not aware of. My lowest win rate is against Millia, though.
  22. So I really really like Sin now & after one week of practice I am going evenish with the other strong players in my state, but it's quite disheartening to deal with the complete lack of JP match videos. The FT3 sets with Gaku have been ridiculously useful as well as playing with some of his private tech videos, but otherwise I feel like I have to figure out everything on my own. Match-up strats are definitely my major lacking area of knowledge. Also, what the FUCK is up with Sin's wake-up animations??? Arcsys made them so weird, I literally can not reversal DP with this character because I can't gauge the timing correctly. It's the only thing I really hate about him.
  23. For the setup in the timestamp, it absolutely looks like the opponent will eat 6D bluebeat if they don't emergency tech, that's why it hits in the setup. My real question is if it will beat emergency tech. Like, how much time does 6D have for hitting before it's forced into recovery? One frame? A few more frames? Depending on the answer, emergency tech > back dash could get out of it free. But I'm still hopeful, the setup does look useful even if just as a match-up knowledge check.
  24. The opponent will likely try to jump out in this situation. I dash forward and do 2K/2D like 99% of the time to punish up-backing and it hits the vast majority of the time. Once you've established that base level of respect then you can try to go for other things. Also, remember that you can input dash as 63 instead of 66 - this allows you to hold dash while also charging another carcass raid.
  25. Interesting observation - B Hariken does not consistently combo in certain situations. Seems spacing or character specific. Here at 0:15, a different Amane goes for a B Hariken > 6D setup but the second hit of Hariken misses and ruins it. What do y'all think? http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm25542459 People might've already seen this one, but it shows how to combo into A Hariken RC 6D off of various corner confirms. Looks like it's not possible to get it off of short starters at all. http://www.nicovideo.jp/watch/sm25171975
