So, yeah. I'm a little PO'd at the moment, I'm not sure if it belongs here but I think it does so I'm posting here. I played an okay Jin in ranked, the match was pretty enjoyable and I ultimately won. But then he sent a message saying "its funny how u need the infinite to win". I'm sick to death of receiving these messages, so I actually messaged him back telling him that I'd rematch him in a player room without using the infinite. So I win the first match and he starts whining about how I'm still using 2C > 8]D[, and I'm like, jesus christ this is how Carl was designed and the match-up is heavily in your favor, are you SERIOUSLY still bitching? Last time I try to reach out to someone.

Correct me if I'm wrong in the evaluation of throw looping in CS. 8]D[ no longer has guaranteed activation, meaning that if carl gets hit and eda hasn't done the actual clap to bring out that blue aura thing, then eda is interrupted and the clap won't come out. Throwbreaking will also stop it. However if you time her clap in such a way that the blue clap aura comes out by the time you grab, a throw break will still get them caught inside it. I kinda like how that works out, instead of a semi-infinite dealing 80-100% life it's more like a reset into an air combo, or extra unprorated throw damage. Sound about right?

Yeah, I figured that was the main reason. I don't think I normally screw up that much but it's only like my second tournament I've ever done, so I got pretty nervous. I can tell I was being too reckless, impatience is a habit I need to break. I've actually never tried that CH 5C combo before so I'll definitely practice it. I recently went to a local tourny and made second. I ended up losing to a Tager player who mains Carl (said he sucks at the mirror match). No, it probably just means that Carl players are forced to use Nirvana for more than just teleporting her mid combo for the infinite.

I can't wait for carl to be low tier again I'm not too worried about carl's viability when I consider the nerfs to the top 3 and Jin, who stomp carl without his infinite.

I am having a REALLY hard time consistently infiniting Ragna, much moreso than everyone else. His hitbox seems so much wierder than everyone else's. I've watched videos for doing it but when I do it on my own with the timings I've practiced, the clap will randomly miss and he'll just bounce to the ceiling while I airdash under him. Or I practice timing the whiff and the clap randomly hits, again throwing off my timing and ending the infinite. Sooo, anyone else have this problem? What's the most reliable, preferably easy way to infinite Ragna?
