  1. Match Start None of your tools will beat his 5C at the start of the match. The best you can hope for is a trade with 5B. Back away the moment the match starts but be careful of equipping an item mid-air at this point, if he anticipates it, he can punish you for it with an anti-air or an air throw. Neutral Full Screen IB or avoid the Ice Swords and destroy them with your missiles if you have those equipped. I don't recommend using the Bubble as cover at this range since he can easily and safely pop them with his Ice Swords. Be careful when he has 50 Heat and you're attempting to use the missiles or the bombs as you can get punished for it with Ice Wave. Long-Mid Range His long-mid range tools include 5C, j.C, 5D, and 2D. 5C: It beats your 5B in terms of speed but your 5B has more range. Jump over it if you see it coming and punish with j.B/j.C on the way down. j.C: If he's using it as an air-to-ground, you can low-profile under it with 2B for a nice punish. If he's using it as an air-to-air, you need to just block it because it has more range and speed than your j.C. 5D: Your 5B beats it and he can't get much out of it mid-screen against Plat due to her hurt-box. Be aware of it when you're close to the corner, a 5D FC > 214D > Stuff hurts. 2D: Your 5B beats it but he can get a lot of damage out of this. If you IB it, it's as good as being at match-start position. Point Blank Your 5A beats everything he throws at you, this is your optimal range in this fight. Offense and Defense Your Offense vs His Defense Reversals His reversal options include DP C, DP D, and Yukikaze. DP C: His worst reversal option but it's the only one he has without meter. Bait it by JC'ing 5A and using 5A > 2A chains to catch him trying to input the motion. On mid-screen wake-up, use 5A~4B for an OS: if he uses his DP C, your 5A will whiff through it and you'll recover on time to block it. On corner wake-up, if you end the combo with 3C > 214X, you can get away with using TK Swallow Barrier cancel to block it on time. His DP C is great against cross-up attempts so be careful when trying to use IAD j.D Hammer against him. DP D: His best reversal option but it costs 25 Heat to use. It has a good start-up and hit-box, so you can't bait it as easily as you would with his DP C. Yukikaze: This one is rarely used but it can tag you out of your Cat/Lion Hammer pokes if he predicts them. Anti-Airs [*]Jin's anti-air options include DP B and 2C (his 2A is ineffective against any of your jumping attacks). [*]DP B: It has insane range and start-up and it has head I-frames starting on frame 4. The downside to this move is that it requires a DP motion, so it can't be used as easily as 2-button anti-airs. Mind its range and Barrier block when you enter its range. He's at a frame disadvantage if you block it, so you can try and initiate your pressure. He can tag you out of your Cat Hammer j.D instant overheads if you're too predictable with them. [*]2C: It has huge range and it has head I-frames starting on frame 9. The downside to this move is that it has a pretty horrid start-up of 17 frames, so Jin will either have to predict when you will jump or he will need to react as soon as possible. You can't really bait this move with a double jump, so just Barrier block if you think he will use it. Other [*]Use lots of 5A > 2A staggers to force a response out of him. If he's mashing, he'll get caught by the staggers. If he's not mashing, you can proceed with TK Swallow mix-up and command throws. [*]Remember to use the OS 5A~5B during his wake-up to bait DP C when he doesn't have meter. His Offense vs Your Defense [/iNFO] Gimmicks and Miscellaneous Info Gimmicks Misc.   14. If you have 25 Heat and you're close to the corner, you can follow-up with 6C > 214D (Whiff) ~ C > Corner Combo for good damage. If you're not close to the corner, you can go into 22C ~ D for decent damage. Other than that, just do the standard A > B > C > Ice Car combo on j.D confirm.
  15. This combo is a lot more difficult than I expected lol, it's still the best I've seen in terms of damage so I'll have it as the standard OD combo at full health. Edit: Came up with a slightly easier Full HP OD combo that does about 50 damage less than yours but it's a lot more simple in terms of execution 5B > 5C > 2C > cOD, 5C > 6B, 5C > 6B > j.214C, 66 j.2C > j.C > 66 2B > 5B > 5C > 3C > 214B~C 3868/34
  16. Yeah, it works off a 2C CH > (Delay) 6C too. Pretty good damage for a little effort, I have a feeling that they'll do something so that it no longer works in the next iteration lol. Edit: I just found out that if you hold C while doing 214D~C it'll come out immediately. That's a good thing to know for those 214D (Whiff) ~ C combos.

  21. Ooh, I'm gonna try that missile/bomb stuff in the morning. I hear you on the whole 22C thing though, I just hammered the 22C timings into my brain since CSE Plat was nothing but 22C loops lol. The amount of damage that you get from the 22C route compared to the non-22C version is hardly worth mentioning, so I think I'll go with your route in the end.
  22. Oh ho ho, I think I'm going to blow some of my meter on corner 3C > 236[D] oki. Jin can't do anything against it, his DP D ends in an unfavorable trade for him as he gets refrozen by the rest of 236D, his DP C whiffs, his Ice Arrow ends in an unfavorable trade as he takes the brunt of 236D while his Ice Arrow gets canceled, and all Yukikaze does is provide escape for him. Gonna experiment on the rest of the cast and see what I get. Edit: N Starter... 2D, CT, j.2C > (Delayed) j.C > JC > j.2C > (Delayed) j.C, 66 5B > 2B > 5C > 3C > 214B~C (4.1K+ and +2 Heat Gain) So he's able to deal 4.1K from any N starter that leads to 2D , recycle the 25 Heat that he spent and gain an additional 2 Heat... I came up with some slightly better combos than the ones I had up there for both of those instances: 236B Route: N Starter > 5C > 236B, 5C > A Persia, 5C > 6A > 6B, 3C > 214X (3432 from 5C) Don't have to delay anything for this one A Persia Route N Starter > 3C > A Persia, 5C > 6A > 6B, 6A > 6C > 22C, 5C > 6A > 236B, 3C > 214X (4003 from 5C) No delays here either, just have to land 22C correctly. I was toying around with the idea off adding 3C to the 6C FC combo but I found it to be a hassle lol. I'll add that it anyways, for those who are confident in their execution. Thanks for sharing your ideas, I hope more Plats come forward and lend a hand. I don't wanna be the only one spending time in the lab lol. Edit: Welp, my A Persia route combo only work off 5C. I'm gonna take your EZ-mode version of that combo and slap it on the combo thread.   24. I tried to ignore them at first but the increased pushback on 5C and the landing recovery on j.C is really starting to rustle my jimmies now. I guess I'll get used to it with time but being too far for 5C > Mami to connect is seriously frustrating.
