  1. > Don't try to jump out of Tsubaki's jab pressure, you'll get tagged. IB Barrier to push her out and jump out when the opportunity presents itself. That or just IB > DP. > When Tsubaki "drops" a combo with 22B/22C, get ready to wake-up DP or just block. That's a frame trap of sorts. They create the illusion of dropping a combo, baiting you into pushing a button and getting hit by 5A: www.youtube.com/watch?v=T551SAIaI5E#t=3m33s > Tech the pink throws lol > You could have gotten a lot more damage off that 6A RC in the corner had you used the standard DP loop route. That's what I saw from the first match, I'll watch the rest later and give you more feedback. Edit: You have to respect Tsubaki's pressure. Only push buttons when you absolutely know that you'll win. Knowing Tsubaki frame data helps.
  2. I'm sorry, I should have specified every single one of Jin's normals that Tao can low profile under ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  3. Tao low profiles > half of Jin's normals lol
  4. Yeah, if you try to punish something that's obviously punishable, the opponent will most likely Burst the moment they get touched. The idea is to OD the moment you land the punish starter and block the already activated Burst the moment you recover from the OD start-up.
  5. www.youtube.com/watch?v=pnYGrv7NDr8&feature=youtu.be#t=1m41s I wonder if Shirushi just forgot to block or if Bursts can't be baited with the ODs. Seriously hoping it's not the latter, I was planning to use ODs whenever I land a good starter. I guess we could always just OD before punishing something like Ragna's ID lol.
  6. I don't think that 6A CH > 5C works so maybe something like 6A CH > 66 5B > 5C > 6C > 2D > stuff
  7. Looks like we'll just have to play later on, I'm getting sleepy lol
  8. Alright, let me know
  9. On CH only, as usual. As for 6A on airborne opponents ala CSE, I'm not entirely sure of that. It was said in one of the location tests that 6A was back to CSII (no 6A knockdown combos).
  10. Since you're online and all, wanna play a few, Fuji?
  11. Wait a minute, Akira-Shiro... Aren't you the guy that said "In reality, you don't have to block to win a match" and "I don't care if you're +10 on block, I'm still swinging". So you really don't give much of a damn about risk vs reward, huh? Yeah, we're through here XD
  12. I'm talking about the set we just had. Sure you've taken a win or two from me as well before lol.
  13. I mean sure, they're useful but they're not something that you would use against heavy zoners. As xlolx said, characters with strong zoning will straight out beat Jin in a projectile war. I understand, j.236A/B > AD > stuff leads to over 2K. It's just that I personally wouldn't risk using air ice blades against a strong zoning character, specially not against Lambda. @Akira - lol it's not a challenge, I just wanna see how the use of j.236A/B pans out in a match against a player who's good at using their respective zoning characters. If you don't air dash after an air ice blade, you're vulnerable even after you land. It's a huge risk to take for something that may or may not pay off. As anti-air bait, the air ice blades are excellent tools. In a projectile war against the stronger zoners, not as much.
  14. He still wasn't able to take a win from me but goddamn did he come close to it. If I had to gauge the skill level between you two, I'd have to say that you're slightly better than him. He's catching up though, don't sleep on him lol.
  15. GGs, I actually have to try now. It's not "oh here comes good ol' Star, free wins for me" anymore. Now I'm actually playing the Litchi match-up. Atta boy *pats head*.
  16. tl;dr version is that Akira believes that Jin's j.236A/B are essential when it comes to fighting zoners. So I want him to play a player who knows what their doing with their respective zoning characters and prove to me just how essential those air ice blades are in these match-ups.
  17. Well, looks like we're done here. I'm curious though, next time you play against TD's Rachel, SwordofToan's Lambda, or xntrik's Mu, I want you to invite me so I can spectate and I want to see you use air Ice Blades A and B extensively. This shit I gotta see XD
  18. The thing is that Jin can use Sekkajin or 214D to boost his damage at any time, at any position in the screen. Other characters require specific setups in order to use CT mid-combo, mid-screen. I would seriously not use the air Ice Blades against someone like Lambda. She gets 3K off an AA sword. You get what? Like 300 points of damage? lol For the other zoners, TK j.236C does a better job than A and B Ice Blades. Air ice blades have a ton of recovery. You really don't see those used all that much during high level play as the risk is not worth the reward. Also lol, Ice Blades are easy as hell to IB. If you're "locking down zoners" with those then they are fucking up lol. Opinions Once you get to play the game and you see people get blown up by Hizangeki, you'll realize just how much of a difference it might make for Jin's game. Valent? TF? I said that it's a crappy knockdown, I'm AGREEING with you XD If people aren't pushing buttons after an IB'd 2D in CSE, then they are fucking up. 2D is barely +1 on block, a lot of characters have the option to push a button, specially if you're using 5C after 2D god knows why. Of course that's not going to make him "S-tier material" on its own, its the tip of the iceberg. I'll give you this one lol The simplicity of a character should have nothing to do with tier standings in the long run. Maybe now because people are still figuring shit out and that's exactly why coming up with tier lists this early in the game is retarded as all fuck. Plat players are also struggling to come up with optimal stuff. Give it some time but I guarantee you that Jin will be A-tier at the very least when things get settled down.
  19. > Jin does a truckload of damage with 25 Heat or an OD. He also does a lot of damage off a CH, crouching confirm, or AA confirm. > He has tools to deal with any and every situation. Where you would use Ice Blades A and B to bait anti-airs, you'll use Hizansen, even though it's not as good as the former. > He actually has an OH now in the form of Hizangeki. > Mid-screen, Hizansen is going to be a pretty crappy air combo finisher, however, no one will be able to roll forward because of the distance between you and your opponent after knockdown. In the corner though, you're left at the perfect distance to use TK Hizangeki and prevent people from rolling out. > 6A is more than +1 on hit and 2D seems like it's more than +1 as well. > We got new mix-up opportunities off j.D freezes. You can do something like j.D > dash under 5B for ambiguous mix-up. > OD Ice Wave does a ridiculous amount of damage. While it's too early to set tiers, I wouldn't be surprised if Jin ends up pretty high on the tier list. He's looking really strong in this game.
  20. You can probably even do both for well over 5K lol 5C CH > 6C > 2D > CT > j.2C > j.C > 66 5C > 22C ~ D > 66 5C > 2C > Air Combo > j.214C
  21. Yeah, Tetsu did it in one of the early Ogre Cup streams.
  22. Yeah, I just watched the video again and he was definitely too slow with the Ice Wave command. No sir you may not complain about Jin damage. Give him 25 Heat or an OD and he'll be doing some massive damage lol. A small combo like 5C CH/Crouching Confirm > 6C > 2D > CT > j.2C > j.C > 66 5B > 5C > 3C > 214B~C does over 4K XD
  23. lol no Anyone's 5A/2A > Jin's j.B j.B stopped being a good jump-in after CT and it stopped being a jump-in at all after CSII. It's an amazing air-to-air though. Jin's jump-in is j.2C, j.B is an air-to-air tool.
  24. I'm guessing that he wasn't fast enough with the 5C > 623146C cancel. He probably didn't input the super command fast enough. Other than that, 5C > Ice Wave should work as we've seen it numerous times, specially from such a good starter as 6B. Just remember that this game implements CT's "time-based combo deterioration". So the longer your combos are, the higher the chance that the last few hits will drop.
