I think learning matchups comes with time. It's a matter of compiling a bunch of do's and don't's, and accumulating good habits as opposed to bad ones. I like to learn in the most painful way possible though, which is to just play a ton of matches and lose due to my disappointing and awful habits. One day I will wake up and play like a god, but till then I'm a mere mortal getting fatal'd by Mitsuru 5b all day

Oh, yeah, he never gets up and tries to BS your oki. He'll R-action and then bait your R-action by empty jumping. 2aa then AoA or the unblockable confuse move is his only mixup. Took me a while to figure out, too =/

Is there a trick to doing the 214C 214D SMP route? I always drop the 236A portion. I walk backward before 236A, but feel that the timing is strict and character specific.

I really liked Denpa's use of j.B. I need to use it more for air to air combat, instead of autopiloting j.C all the time. On CH there seems to be plenty of time to pick up a combo w/ 5a. Also, he drops traps mid blockstring and IAD away to start his steady stream of traps and bullets. Too often when I get someone to block, I'm so hellbent on getting a hit that I try stupid things, instead of playing it safe and controlled.

Ugh... Don't want it? Don't buy it. Isn't that how it works? Yukiko's 5a and j.a are both very strong. I keep finding myself having underestimated their hitboxes, and getting clipped by them. Our Aim shenanigans can keep Yukiko honest at full screen. I try to frustrate Yukiko as much as possible at full screen and bait her to making some bad decisions. That said, some Yukiko's are really patient and they'll just block my bullets all day and cancel healing at the faintest sign of me rushing in. One of the dullest matchups, imo.

I think our 236b beats one of her moves, but I'm not sure exactly what. It might be the backstepping 5b. It scores a nice fatal, but I haven't been able to pick it up w/ 66 5c. It might be her weird falling hitbox. Very stressful matchup to say the least. I'm not sure what Coup Droit is on block exactly (can't believe it's +), but sometimes on IB I've had success mashing her out w/ 5a. Most of the time though, I'm scared to press buttons and I just patiently block until she messes up applying pressure. -_-

Big thanks to Eric & his staff for organizing this. It was my first time at a major, despite meaning to go many many times in the past, and I've so enjoyed the event that I'll be sure to return.
