  1. Wtf lk, how about you give some pointers to someone who would appreciate it? (wink, wink)
  2. Uhh toan what's your id?
  3. 2c is like your best friend who always bails out on you at the last minute....
  4. Ggs to raiza, lk, guardian, and kaisercs.. bang valk and litch... Tough lineup for me tonight
  5. Ggs Luis, sorry I can't make it out to da scene, got a real screwed up work schedule again =/ but I miss playing offline
  6. Hey DE, ggs. I'm actually really confused when I play you, because I don't need to run. My idea of keeping ragna out is to throw out 5c's almost preemptively, because otherwise I have to block. Many times you bait me into whiffing, but you don't dash in or press buttons to punish me. Don't be afraid of mu, just kick her in the face. I mean you watched me get bodied by 9ball all day yesterday. He's certainly not full screen hells fang'ing me, but he closes gap with small advances and waits for me to screw up the spacing... Then it's combo town =/ That's a weird thing to say to somebody, "press more buttons," because majority of BB players (myself included) press way too many buttons all the goddamn time... But in your case you should abuse the shit out of Ragna's good normals. Press more buttons. 5b, 5c, and j.c are all really solid. And fullscreen hell's fang is sometimes worth it too, just have to yomi it right, i'd imagine. I swear to god, zoning out ragna is a LOT more work than ppl think it is... Just watch nineball, he keeps me in check at all distances.
  7. Shoutouts to dwb stepping up his game Guardian's valk for dominating neutral (I'm onto your backstepping) pochp for guard crush setups SenXXi for Tsubame reversals Gigaitachi for testing how free I am to GH. GGs all around!
  8. Lol I don't know if it's tough love. He is mean enough to just be mean. Can't argue with his playing though, the kid is good. =/
  9. Good good. I make tons of mistakes too, and a lot of it is execution... It's like I have an alcoholic's hand or something, I press the stupidest thing at the stupidest time... Anyway, another good thing to do (and this is actually good for getting a read on ppl's approach game...) is stagger your gatlings. I know half the time I mash the shit out of 2b 5c 6c or some dumb shit, but you can tell a lot by how someone plays just by staggering your gatling. For example, you can 5c (stagger) 3c. Is he getting CH'd? Does he dash up a little and have to block the 3c? From this you can tell whether he respects your strings, whether he is reacting, or he is autopiloting. I'm slowly getting insights into all this too, but I'm sure this is like second nature to top players.
  10. Yo Cookie, the biggest problem you have is you upback really hard. This was true back in CT, in CS, and in EX too. Maybe you've made some progress since I pointed this out the other day. Upback is good, but it's not as good as it was in CT/CS1. You get punished pretty badly for it if the opponent can read it. From what I've seen of Dont_Explain's playing, he's a man of patience and not the mashiest Ragna, which means you can get away with a flowcharty upback strat more often than not. But still it's a bad habit. Once I noticed it I'd just pretend to meaty on wakeup but instead airgrab you. Remember when I airgrabbed you like 4 times in a row? That's the kind of reading you should be actively doing, picking up on ppl's teching habits, jumping habits, mashing habits, dp'ing habits, etc. Not flowcharting is, like you said, tough. Part of it is muscle memory and part of it is mental. But once you're conscious of the problem and actively try to break it, you start to see results fairly quickly. Lastly, it's really no use trying to be defensive about your playing. I'm sure you've heard this a million times, but lag affects everyone, and is often not THE deciding factor of the match. And when it is, as long as both players know it and can laugh it off, it's not a big deal. SKD is a dick and loves to troll, but he's usually right. So, instead of having an emotional response every time, just take what ppl are saying for what they are. My 2 cents.
  11. Ggs to td, neo, dwb and zeth. Zeth your bang shenanigans were fresh man, I was the freest one there lol
  12. Somebody photoshop bang's 5a animation knocking over a can of salt please! Also, bring on the hate, I'm 100% behind SKD, maybe inappropriately touching his buttocks On topic: GGs to late introduction to dark souls and holding L1 to try to block overheads
  13. psr farming is the worst TD, I'm perma stuck at 826... Lose once, lose 3 points, play like 30 matches, gain 1 back. =/
  14. Ragna that presses more buttons (read: dash 5b/5c iad j.c all day) will give a harder time than a waiting ragna. Our 5c is slower than his 5b, and it barely out-ranges his 5c. A lot of the times mu's 5c will get CH'd by his 5c if not very well spaced... (Thanks, extended hitbox bs) Use a lot of superjump/stein/236a/vary air dash directions, and throw out 5c's almost preemptively. I find that you also really need to read well and throw out some good 6c's to make him scared of just dashing in. It's a real tight running away game vs. ragnas that know what they're doing. I'd say the matchup is even or 5.5-4.5 ragna's favor, just because his damage/heat gain/return on abare are all so strong.
  15. Folks, what should I be doing if I know the opponent is gonna backdash on wakeup after the SoD blowback? Do I run up and 5c later? Fish for 6c? or play safe® with 236a? Edit: I guess it'll depend on the kind of backdash it is. I'm thinking Valk's, but maybe there's a rule of thumb
  16. Yo how could you be a fan of msg but not of asian food? I dont even... I should be around this saturday, down to school
  17. High loop is the one that starts w/ a 5c pickup: 5c 2c j.c j.2c j.d Which can be followed by the middle loop: 2b 5c 2c j]d[ j.2c Low loop is the one w/ the 6a: 2b 6a j.c j.2c I'm new to the terminology too, but c0r started calling them as such.
  18. Nice thread. My Q: I know the high loop is all the rage these days, but I don't really like it. I tend to drop it more often and seems more character/height specific. Can I just stick w/ the ol' med/low loops, or is there a significant advantage I'm not seeing from setting up the stein that high up?
  19. CT was an awful awful game... Lol @ wiggling out of Jin's ice... Lol @ clap trap... Lol @ insta curse. Lol @ rachel shenanigans. Have no nostalgia for it ever
  20. Played a Tager player using beginner mode. You know the type, mashes sledge and buster every frame. Double perfect w/ 5c alone, then he sends me a hatemail. -___________-
  21. @ping: Yo, I love you too buddy, no homo. I know that feeling. Just ask Tim about the Pinball Wizard Tourney. I'm still not 100% adapted to lagless environment (thanks netplay and crappy monitor). THAT'S WHY THIS OFFLINE THING NEEDS TO TAKE OFF WE GOTTA TAKE OVER THE WORLD @Luis: Yeah man, you were catching on to me. Soon I'll have to put on some Nikes so I can run faster.
  22. Yo, here's a list of constructive criticism. Feel free to disagree. I don't care if you don't care, but just know that this is why my terrible mu is winning matches. Some things I noticed vs. each player. Ping 1. You let me set up steins full screen. I throw a stein and you're already pressing barrier... Just run up and 5b, son. 2. You auto jump cancel after 6a, so I try to air throw you if I block your 6a. 3. 2d is not a good blockstring ender, I swear to god. Just end your shit with 2c and continue pressure until you get a hit in. I have to DP out or risk blocking GH in the air to get out of pressure. Airk 1. I'm always anticipating that shield charge. So I try to stay full screen where you can't make me block, and I cancel my steins with 236a (lightning ball thing) or IAD backward. You should capitalize on this keepaway tactic and feel free to walk/dash in a little instead of relying on the charge. Once you got me to block, I did eat a lot of your mixup, lol. I can't block tsubaki overhead EVER. 2. We covered this, but you have a tendency to jump back if I'm dashing at you to force you to stop charging. If I'm dashing, actually the shield charge would be a good way to start pressure. Or you can just backdash. 3. Also covered, you were trying to mash out of blockstrings so I started frame trapping with delayed gatlings. Mu pressure is garbage, just block it ^^ 4. After blocking your shield charge, you have the option of baiting out my DP. But you were a little too 5b happy, so I took liberty DP'ing out every time. If you bait someone out on that shit, they'll start thinking twice about dp'ing. You were on point with that 2c anti-air though. I was trying to bait it out more, but man, that move is gdlk. Luis 1. You should throw more. You don't just mash gatlings so you have a good high/low game + that 2a stagger frame trap shit, but if you mix in throws people would be even more confused. 2. Don't be afraid of mu's zoning... Ragna can just force himself in. He has decent corner carry, and there's nothing I can do about a well spaced 5b/5c meaty aside from wake up dp, so you can pressure all day really. Like I said, mid range the only move that kind of beats ragna is 236a, and you can reaction IAD punish that shet. I'm telling you, people are so afraid of mu's 5c... Ragna's 5c will beat it more often than you think. 3. Anticipate Mu's backdash. It covers a long distance but has terrible recovery. Mix up your spacing by dashing further in and then 5b'ing to make me block. Tim 1. You gotta punish with good proration normals. Your sense of spacing is really good on Jin, but I think you just need to work on some combos and right punishes. Same w/ haz. Feel free to give me some feedback also. Like I said, I'm not good at this game (I do play it though, lol), but I'll point stuff out so we can all get better. Cool?
  23. nudge nudge nudge nudge who unplugged/ threw out all your pads and/or sticks? nudge nudge nudge
  24. Yo Ping is good at body'ing my Tager. Also at sniffing MSG. Zoob, thanks for rounding out the roster!!!! Airk, thanks for coming out. Don't let the haters let you down. The point you make is valid. If we want to be a community and to level up as one, then we gotta can the negativity. People were half joking, though it does get out of hand. Luis, thanks for hosting the event and contributing to the pot. Nom nom nom. Less salt more inferno dividah. Btw your PS3 sucks because you don't have mu unlocked. Mindgame, didn't even get to play your Litch. Bring PangTong and Crown w/ you sometime! Vyers and Max - Nice seeing you guys again, sorry I made no progress with Dizzy at all ._. Tim - Yeah, didn't get to play you all that much. Let's all hang out some time.
