  1. Ah, good to know. And no worries, I'll keep the game safe until whenever the next one is. But it definitely will be there, so everyone practice up. Also, why is WCW banning PS3 sticks for Revelator?
  2. So, the next one of these should be on Saturday April 16th. (This weekend). But more importantly, I recently wound up with an extra copy of Shin Megami Tensei IV. I was going to just give it away to someone, but instead, let's have some fun! Everyone who shows up this weekend will have a chance to win a free copy of SMT4! I was thinking of doing a raffle, though I see these events have a "bounty" system, so maybe I could add it as a prize. I'm still thinking raffle though. Give everyone an equal chance. But either way, come on by this weekend, have some fun at a great venue, and maybe win a critically acclaimed 3DS game. See you all there!
  3. Is this going to be streamed? Jyosua's channel, maybe?
  4. Hey, nice list! Here's some more off the top of my head: Labrys: - Gains meter much faster than normal. Minazuki: - His 236236C super wave (the slow version) is unblockable. Kanji: - Very slow walking speed. - Can cancel all recovery from his Yolo dive moves with any other normal or special. (So for instance, he can dive, and then instantly throw you when he touches the ground.) - Can command throw the opponent even if they're in hitstun or blockstun. (Yes, this is exactly as cheap as it sounds. No pink grabs, just completely unbreakable.) Liz: - Much faster walk speeds, air dash speed, and backdash speed. - Her 214214C and 214214D grab supers now grab at 0 frames after the flash (So you can't jump after the flash. Oddly, the CD version does still give you time to jump.) - Her 214214C grab super can still grab you if you're in the air just slightly off the ground. (But it still can't grab you out of pre-jump.)
  5. Yo! I did challenge 30. I wasn't able to find this anywhere on the internet, so I made up my own. With a large assist owed to Dustloop's frame data page. And the winning combo was: Start off with: 2[C] (3 hits), cancel to 236B, land and hold D, 236A, Shadow Berserk mode. This is where it gets fun. If you haven't seen this already, you can cancel the landing recovery and gun stance mode of Naoto's Double Fangs by canceling to an air 214CD at the second hit of the Double Fangs. You'll land extremely quick and can immediately do another move. The traps won't actually come out, and you'll lose no meter for this. So at this point, after the Shadow mode activation, land and repeatedly do 236A (2 hits), 214CD, 236A(2 hits), repeat. The 214CD and then 236A motion needs to be done really fast. I did this up until 33 hits on the combo meter (4 Double Fangs left), and then I canceled with 214CD again, land, 2B, 236A(1 hit), air 236AB(1 hit), air 236B(1 hit), air 236A. Done. And watching the demonstration now, the computer's version is the same thing, but they omit the 2B part for another raw 236A, and then go into a slightly different ending sequence of 236A, air 236A, air 236AB, and then air 236B. My version is a bit easier since the 2B is 2 frames faster than the raw 236A, and you're really tight on frames at this point. But if you're really feeling the rhythm of the A Fangs, then feel free to keep on doing it. And I haven't tried their ending air Double Fang sequence, so I don't know how tight it is, but mine should be the easiest possible since I made it in respect to getting the best possible hitstun and startup differences possible from the three air fang versions. Anyway, good luck everyone!
  6. The one that doesn't do 4 hits at maximum. Also, now of course I'm trying to figure out 30. Anyone have any ideas?
  7. Oh, I should've checked here first. I just did Challenge 25 myself, with: AoA for all hits, D finisher, cancel to B Double Fangs (2 hits), A Sniper Super (All hits), OMB, 5B, 5C, B Double Fangs (2 hits), C Hamaon, A Sniper Super. It's exactly 65 hits, and probably as easy as it gets.
  8. It worked! Thanks! And I used 2B, though apparently the computer demo didn't. But I think it's easier to use it, and it obviously doesn't matter either way. And for the record, for spacing I just did 236B from the starting position, and did a couple 236Ds right where I landed. Once the drill level hit 3, it was combo time. And thanks again!
  9. So, this doesn't seem to exist anymore. And there is nothing else on the entire internet discussing how to do Amane's Challenge 30. Amanes, I need your help! How do you do Amane's 30th Challenge? And a simple text description should be fine, but if anyone who's done it already wants to hit "Demonstration" and record that, that would be swell too. Thanks guys!
  10. Yeah, I found this out today trying to listen to the "soundtrack" in the car on my way to work. It is not an audio CD. It SHOULD be, but it's not. It is indeed a data CD (aka CD-ROM) filled with .wav files and a .txt file of the track list. Basically, the tracks on a CD should not be .wav files. (And it most certainly should not contain a .txt file). They should be .cda files. That is what a redbook audio CD will look like, and that encoding is what will allow a CD player to recognize it as a CD. Or to put it simply: They done goofed. There's not been much internet talk about this, but here's what I found so far: http://skullgirls.com/forums/index.php?threads/blazblue.468/page-16 http://www.aksysgames.com/forums/topic/40313 http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/680197-blazblue-chrono-phantasma/68897401 The gamefaqs page in particular has a guy talking a bit more technical about it, which sounds accurate, but I can't confirm as I'm not on expert on this. I definitely do not believe that this was done on purpose, however.
  11. Don't listen to him. Nowhere in the rules does it say that pants are required.
  12. I'm going! And... Jo and Blitz usually show up, though I can't exactly speak for anyone. But more importantly, you should go! We all missed you this weekend.
  13. Stop him the old-fashioned way. Hunt him down in loser's bracket.
  14. You're not allowed to start performing the unblockable when your opponent is on the ground in knockdown. And, new to +R, you also cannot do it when your opponent is ground sliding. But for a pseudo-combo, you can do a mid-screen 63214 S to send them sliding across the entire screen, and then hit them with a Rensengeki at about max range. Quickly start charging again during the Rensen, and then do Rashousen while they're still in the air, just before they fall onto the ground. The timing window is a bit tight (as late as possible, but before they hit the ground), but if you do it right they'll wake up with the unblockable right on top of them. I haven't checked this with all characters, so it might not work on some of them due to sliding hitboxes, and I'm pretty sure slow-risers like Chipp and A.B.A are completely immune.
  15. I also want to mention that this is the first large-scale Skullgirls tournament in SoCal since the Squigly update. If you play SG, you should definitely come down to this. Even if you've only been playing it online, come by and test yourself in a tournament environment. You'll also be able to play casual matches all day long, so it's a great chance to practice your game, meet the community, and trade tips and strategies. And of course, even if you don't play SG, Guilty Gear AC+R and Persona 4 Arena are going to get the same amount of love. Top players are already confirmed for going, and you should be too. It's going to be a great event, and a great chance to support your favorite airdasher games.

  17. Guys, you don't get it! Guymam is going away for like a month! So we won't even be able to see him for... oh wait, so nothing will change then. Also, I vote Everyone vs. Bobby also for GG, MB, AP, AH3... and everything else we can bring. I've seen him play half of these before, and I'm sure he's willing to play all the others too. They all have waifus in them, after all. And it'll be our greatest going-away present: Carpal Tunnel Syndrome!
  18. Shoutouts to shtkn for running the entire thing, and somehow not going insane. Shoutouts to ehuangsan for showing me that I really need to learn how to handle a sick rushdown Ky. Shoutouts to hellmonkey for forgetting that we've played GG before, years ago. Shoutouts to Hellsap for the many great casual matches, while everyone else was off caring about Marvel for some reason. Shoutouts to AKA, Ludwig Van, Zer0kage, and DaiAndOh for being cool peeps. Shoutouts to the small army of Naotos that were wandering around. Shoutouts to Adelheid, DaiAndOh, and Amadeous for showing up at the GG station as my ride was leaving. (We'll play some other time. And in retrospect, I should've just asked for a quick marathon session...) Shoutouts to everyone I know from NorCal, PNW, LV, and AZ. West coast, best coast. And finally, Shoutouts to SoCal. You guys are the best. And see you soon.
  19. Sign me up for BB and GG. Especially GG. I know how much you like my character.
  20. Eh, looks like I'm working Saturday. Sorry guys. Which maybe is for the better anyway. I'm not on a string of good luck lately. First my stick broke (which got better), and then my hand broke (Which... didn't. Let's not talk about that). This time my arm probably would've fallen off. And Numakie, it's up to you to beat Delta in Aquapazza now. We all believe in you! Do it for the millions of AP fans! For great justice!
  21. I can play. Numakie too, in fact. We were grand finals of like every poverty tournament FFA held. And various other people used to play too, though I'm sure everyone's very rusty by now. Still, I imagine some people would want to brush up on it to get ready for the new one. Or even just get started on learning it once they see it around and available. In other words: If you bring it, they will come.
  22. Haha. Well, you did get me at Evo last year. Denied me top 8, even. So... I guess that means the tie-breaker might be at this Evo. Grudge matches. Get hype! And DQRF, apparently we had 22. I just got curious and looked it up. A few of those people were still learning the game, but we had a solid number of the OG players. You've gotta come down to these things!
  23. Well I've definitely not heard any accusations of this, but if anyone is thinking it, I guarantee you that it's not true. He's not that kind of person. And seriously, it's not like he's even guaranteed to win anything. In fact, I'm pretty sure he didn't even place yesterday. And I honestly never even thought about the stream costs. Chipping in a dollar would be fine, and I'm sure people would like the idea of "Pay once, enter anything (and everything!) you want to." Though that idea is kind of iffy, since people might question where these "stream costs" are actually going to. And yes, people have always complained about BB entry fees. And probably any entry fee, since the beginning of time. But the thing is, people don't really SAY anything about it, they'll just stop showing up. Like for AI, they had two CS1 cabs, that got played constantly. But on tournament day, we'd struggle to get 20-ish people in it. And those same regulars would be RIGHT THERE at the arcade, maybe even playing on the other cab, totally not being in the tournament. And the less said about the crap-tacular FFA turnouts, the better. For like 99% of people, they'll never see a return on their entry fee. So there needs to be a really good balance between "The entertainment value is totally worth my money!" and "I feel like I'm throwing my money into a pit, for no reason." In fact, I remember one really good Robo-Ky player at FFA (who probably doesn't read this site, but I'm totally calling you out.) whose entire reason for never showing up again was "I'm never going to beat Mike Z, so what's the point." And... while I won't get started on what's sickeningly wrong with that attitude, yeah, that's how he felt. "I'm just showing up to hand my money over to someone else. Why not just play at home?" And trust me, even relatively small amounts can get bad. Like, I have no problem with affording any tournaments, but even so TRB and WNF almost blew my budget a few times. And if you're one of the jobless college students... well, good luck. Honestly, even just the venue fees deter people, though I am totally behind that one. Arcades have a hard enough time making money even with it. And yeah, I've just never seen the benefit of making a pot at all for small gatherings. Why does the FGC even do this? "Well, it's tradition, so..." Yeah, that's always a flawless reason. Is it supposed to be the thrill of gambling? Then maybe there's something wrong with me, because having money on the line doesn't make things more fun to me. In fact, I generally have LESS fun since I can't really risk screwing around with fun but experimental (and troll-ish!) new things. The best tournament idea I've ever seen so far has been James's free everything tournament, with maybe random prizes. It got great turnouts and great interest, and even without money on the line people are still going to try as hard as they can to win. Wanting to beat your opponent is not synonymous with money. And incidentally, my second-favorite has been the old FFA $1 GG tournaments. Plenty of random people who aren't the best will enter because "Well, it's only a dollar. Why not!", and then the people who do succeed still get the feeling of "Cool, I got paid!" Turns out, the actual amount doesn't really change that feeling. In fact, somewhere around here I have a little collection of notes that say something like "2nd place - $7". And that amuses me far more than anything else could.
  24. So yeah, I'm not really seeing the point of $5 entry for P4A. Other than making me furious when I finally confirm that I'm dropping inputs, during the complicated combo of "mash gunshots". ("So wait, did I just pay 5 bucks just to DQ myself?"). Which I guess might be amusing to some people, in fairness. But nevertheless, I'm not seeing a lot of benefits here. I highly doubt it's going to draw new players to the scene, and I'd even theorize that it would have the opposite effect of scaring the new players away. People who play at home already tend to feel apprehensive about showing up to play against us local tournament gods, who obviously must be unbeatable death machines. And it certainly has the perceivable effect amongst ourselves of getting a lower turnout, since people who will show up anyway but focus on other games won't enter due to some combination of "It won't be worth it since I won't win" and "I'm poor". And lastly, if you are playing airdasher games for the sake of making income, I'd like to point out that you're totally doing this wrong.
