  1. Honestly, when I first saw the title of this thread some time ago I was like "Run for your lives! Incoming shit-storm!"
  2. No me? How did I lose to nobody?
  3. I feel like doing shout-outs, for no good reason. First off, shout-outs to all the usual people I play. See you soon, I'm sure. Shout-outs to the slightly-less-usual people. I'm glad you all came down, even if you didn't actually enter. Shout-outs to everyone from NorCal. Shout-outs to Dacid and Copper. Even though we never actually played. Oh well. Shout-outs to Coopa and Rin. For some first time playing! Shout-outs to Sam. It only took me a year, but I finally figured out who that Noel cosplayer is. Shout-outs to Hateraid/JRS. You're a cool guy. You should come up again, anytime you can. Shout-outs to MooMooAkai and Tubazo. See above. And finally, shout-outs to anyone I met/beat Friday night. Especially Frankie, who got salty after underestimating my Rachel. Kitty. Also, negative shout-outs to anyone who didn't show. Pfft. Working. That's for losers. What's that ever done for you?
  4. Bang. Edit: Hi Kyle! Shouldn't you be leaving soon? I'll race you there.
  5. The Hakumen guy was "Jethro", I believe someone said. And good job, CopperDabbit! We're glad you could come down for this. Edit: Oh wait, and I got third in GG also. This mysterious "ABAre" person got second. And he may have played Johnny too.
  6. Yeah, I did. So what's YOUR reason? ...Just because I really really wanted to see someone say that.
  7. So here's something I've been messing with lately that's either incredibly stupid, or incredibly brilliant. Probably both. Let's say Litchi hits you with any random hit, and has now taken you down to the corner. Five minutes later, when her combo is over, she'll do her staff super on top of you as you wake up, and attempt to start a new combo. Now, being stuck blocking all that is certainly no fun. So why block at all? Instead, use the Cat Chair. Yeah, you heard me. Wake up, 2C, and then Rapid Cancel, and then block whatever's left. And take your time with the RC. You're fully invincible until the very end of the active frames. Now if the chair hits her, after the RC you'll only have about one or two staff hits to block before it flies up and away, so run on out of there before it comes down and before she techs. And if she blocks the chair, you've at least wasted enough to time to take her game down to one or two mix-ups instead of three or four. Not a bad deal. And you usually get a lot of meter yourself during Litchi's own combos, so having 50% in this match shouldn't be too hard. Now obviously, this can be baited pretty hard if she knows you might try it. But seriously, who the hell would be expecting a cat chair during the staff super? Most of the time she's going to just run face-first into it thinking the staff will protect her. And on the plus side, when your local Litchi does catch on to this, she's going to start standing back and trying to bait you instead of attacking. So you've just made her afraid to attack during her own mix-up opportunity. Now she's going to waste her own time for you!
  8. You promised not to get any better?
  9. What Rachel is beating you half the time? I'd like to play this guy.
  10. Hazama owns Rachel. The 100% correct chart doesn't even say otherwise. You guys are funny.
  11. I'd give it 6.5. But what do I know about Rachel. Edit: I can! 5.5, tops. Tager is still a walking target.
  12. Mike won. Ike got second. I don't think anyone was watching but me, but Ike put up a hell of a fight. Reset the grand finals, and was very close to taking away the whole thing. But then lost to 2C, cross-under Sledge whiff, 720. Ha-ha!
  13. Well I don't know about any invincibility on her unblockable (and the frame data here doesn't mention it), but I do know that the cat chair's guard point will NOT stop any unblockable, so maybe that's what happened to you. Also, I'd honestly never recommend 6B to stop her unblockable. It can be done, but just in general that 6B is pretty slow, so unless you're REALLY ready for that unblockable, you're probably just going to get hit if you try to stuff it with 6B on reaction. Jumping away (or backdash) is definitely better.
  14. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r3IvcmWrnkc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQkKzlaaw9E http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SZph18wIaic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FcmXDQgODZU Solid Rachel player in these. From whatever event that title is talking about. I especially like that Jin match. Tempest Dahlia versus D air fireballs was funny, and that winded-out-of-the-corner j.2C cross-up is freaking brilliant. And I hardly ever check Nico, so it's good to see you back Rhannmah! Keep up the good work!

  16. Wow. I love this thread. This is even better than I thought it would be when it first started. Also, did it REALLY take you that long to realize he was talking about the sensitivity of the buttons? He's only provided like three examples thus far. One of which you seem to enjoy laughing at because you don't understand what he meant. In fact, apparently you still don't? You are "Not going to let it go", and it's "the funniest thing ever", I hear. In case you haven't noticed, you have to press buttons on a controller harder than you do with a set of Sanwa buttons. I don't care how far the travel distance of the buttons is, so put down the ruler. They have to be pressed harder. In fact, they actually RESIST getting pressed until X amount of force is applied. It's a little feature or whatever of the controller, so that they don't get activated by accident. And while this is helpful for 10-year-olds with lead hands, most fighting gamers demand quick reactions. Sanwa buttons, on the other hand, activate VERY easily. Just one light touch. They can also activate when dropped, or blown on, or any other example you won't understand. And THIS is why they let you perform moves quicker. They activate instantly when touched. Whereas a controller button is going to fight you back for a moment. Also, stop arguing about how you're arguing. Why does every discussion turn into that...
  17. I believe this is more for when you hit someone who is low to the ground with a Sword Iris, and then you try to follow up with a 3C -> George, or whatever. The 3C tends to miss them more often than it should. I'm pretty stoked about the hit box on that getting higher, if only just a little, for that reason. And just in general these latest changes are pretty rad. 6B CH can actually be comboed again? WHOA! It's like someone who wasn't an idiot was balancing her this time. Though 6C forcing a stand doesn't seem too useful. If you caught the opponent crouching, you can already combo into the j.2C. Which in CS2 you can also combo out of, so... I'm not seeing a lot of point to that. But oh well, at least it'll make the 6C combos lazier.
  18. Shout outs to quick finishing times. Shout outs to a good turn out, and some not-so-new faces finally showing up to these things. Shout outs to being salty all day.
  19. I'm going. Your money's already mine.
  20. Well I was thinking more for the sake of people reading the location and going "Oh hey, I'm going to be passing right by there! Sure I can give you a ride home." Ambiguous distance can make people quiet. And... sorry? Heh. If it helps, I have been playing fighters for like 10 years now. And GG since XX. Not every main is going to be CS Rachel. If you want, we can go to AI and pra... OH WAIT.
  21. Might help to say where you live.
  22. I, like many of you, have not played a lot of high-level Valks at this point, but here's some initial impressions to get this rolling. For starters, he can't block while in wolf form. Now that should be common knowledge already, but keep in mind how you can use this as Rachel. For one, when you're zoning him, he can't simply wolf-charge forward. He'll have to try to old-man-hop his way through. It also means that random poles and other traps around the stage can be pretty devastating for him if he likes to stay in wolf form for whatever reason. At mid-range, his 5B will definitely own you. It's about the same distance as your 6B, and twice the speed. Respect his range. And don't worry, because blocking isn't a big deal anyway. More on that later. Additionally, do note that there is no way in hell you're going to anti-air his jump-ins. Not with that j.C. Don't even try. Now, when you are blocking something, so far I haven't been noticing a great mix-up game from Valk. All his stuff is pretty predictable. Which means you should also be Instant Blocking this stuff. A good IB will turn any of his "safe" strings (like his 236A) into your advantage, it makes any of his less safe strings into a free punish, and it also makes any wolf-transform-cancels into an easy counter-hit for you And keep in mind that he has no reversals outside of his super, so if he doesn't have the meter, feel free to rush him down all you want.
  23. This is for discussing the Rachel vs Valkenhayn match-up in BB:CS. Teach him to stay in the kitchen.
  24. Well hey, I'm sure a lot of people would've sworn Kayo Police was also. Always make room for the margin of error, I say.
