Hoping for a move that actually adds something significant rather than being some move that you might use if the opportunity presents itself.

Rachel lost pumpkin. Seppuku time or what?

This new move seriously better be worth it. I can't see how Rachel is supposed to play without the pumpkin. Things have a way of working themselves out, but this is an incredibly sobering thought, to lose such a good tool.

Apparently, little bats come out of Rachel's new fancy teapot. It is clearly a heavy pot (probably the bats inside) because it knocks down from the air. The question is what the bats do and are they offensive or defensive. Knowing Rachel, probably both. Definitely need more information on this move, so much relies on it being good since wind still appears to need recharging throughout rounds.

Yeah this is the most radical change lol

 

Could be good. But one thing is for sure... pumpkin was a really, really good tool. 

Hoping the new moveset and possibly other changes sculpt a less wind dependent neutral game.

Maybe they'll make her an all out zoning or rushdown character.

I know I'm sounding "End of the World" like here but a life without pumpkin is hard to imagine :/

 

I know it's still to early to say and we have loketests tomorrow and all, but I'm getting this feeling if things keep going this way I and possible others may become disappointed once it's all over (BB altogether). I can understand them not wanting to backtrack either but still... Pumpkin ;__;

 

Just this horrible feeling and it unsettles me.

Just speculation on my part but the move looks like it creates a bunch of bats that have a sort of "arming time" before they can be launched at the enemy with wind. So basically a delayed but stronger pumpkin with less angles you can use them on since it drops to the floor. Could be completely off though.

 

Don't really like their decision. Taking away options from characters is rarely a good idea and pumpkin was arguably the one thing that made Rachel extremely fun to play. This new thing better not make her boring as fuck.

it's easily the biggest thing any character has lost.  Will have to rely on tweaks to probably lotus or the new move to make up for it.

Rele, I think bats do damage over time (poison-like affect)... at least that's what I remember reading.

You are right, wind regen is faster in this game (by how much, I don't know). But I hope it's not just back to CP1.0 regen.... I want it faster than that if they're going to take away pumpkin.... Like I wanna fly around and do whatever the hell I want while my poison bats do all the fighting. :P 

 

 

But yeah, Rachel losing pumpkin is going to need some serious changes / buffs to actually make up for such a staple tool in her arsenal.

I too hope wind regen is fast, having not watched the stream which apparently has shown some footage of the princess.

I'll sign on to that petition. Hearing about Pumpkin has been mind boggling D:

I've been at work so I couldn't set up camp to watch the stream, there's still not a lot of clarity with what's going on with her at this loketest. We still got a day or two left so hopefully we'll have some more comforting news, but I'm not feeling hopeful at this stage :/

So we have a rush down Rachel, how exciting. I'm beginning to see why pumpkin was removed, with all the offensive actions being added, they want her to recover wind quickly and then find a way to get in. Once in she is probably going to get a hit and do heavy damage depending on resources. Her pressure can last long so the bats doing poison over time can work? I wonder how long they last. Plus she got a "dp" in overdrive, So the idea of being an extremely offensive character with few defensive options under pressure is shifting. Wind will become even more dynamic than before, sounds fun. However, in general...

I'm worried she might be becoming more like other characters.

Also, bat motifs. Shifting away from Halloween and going more toward cemeteries I see.

No more lockdown, so infinite George would make sense.

I wonder what j2c level 2 being slowed down means though.

Then there is blossom again, still mysterious. Blows bats when wind is used... Do they stick to the opponent or just follow them until wind shakes them off? Hopefully they are like lotus bats.

It sounds to me like its just Liz's 2D except you can blow it at them, and more bats on them = more damage but has a limit.

i think he's assuming that the special exceed accel movie in OD is invuln. I don't know if that is true.

Any word on how long the bats last / approximately how much damage you can get if the opponent is poisoned all the bats for the entire duration?

 

Also do the bats disappear on block or only hit?

So ivy basically lets us tack on 1k damage at the end of our combo...assuming there will be combos that let us setup ivy. Sounds like there already is in the corner.
