Argent Zero Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 I had one for a while. It kept pausing the screen on me mid match and almost burned out my USB port before I stopped using it. Not being able to find a 360 pad alternative is what finally forced me to play stick. This could be your chance. Hm... you might be right... Is there any connection issues with sticks out there though? Mis-inputs were my bane all these times. I just don't know what kind of stick a noob like me should invest in. I know I had this conversation before in the past but it just never clicked and I always went back to a controller.
swifT Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 I didnt see anywhere specific for those people newer to BB but maybe I was looking in the wrong places?????? Anyway. I'm newer to BB but not new to anime fighters. Just looking for people to play games with who can give me tips and help me improve in this game. My psn is swiftea_ and I currently main Kokonoe(this may change but atm I enjoy her play style) I'm on east coast and am online often.

Chaoschao222 Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Don't use cronus with wired controllers. Your usb port will break. Wireless xb360 pad with the usb adapter is fine tho. I had one for a while. It kept pausing the screen on me mid match and almost burned out my USB port before I stopped using it. Not being able to find a 360 pad alternative is what finally forced me to play stick. This could be your chance. I'm glad Cronus is so case-by-case. Have had literally 0 issues using it. Frankly, I should get a Max just to use the 360 controller on Xbox One.
SoulGuitarist Posted May 15, 2015 Posted May 15, 2015 Good games to lobby! My apologies to the people I didn't play. Astral x Hakumen and I were playing and I was already in the arcade lobby so we just played there.
skd Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Yeah, I actually only started hearing of issues with later releases of cronus adapters. The one I used (the literal same one that chao has atm, it was used on my end for ps3 pad on xbox) gave me no issues at all (it was one of the first run), and i'm pretty uptight on things like delay/spotty inputs, i'd feel like i'd notice if that ever happened. No clue if it caused delay to other USB devices, never had the idea to test that out myself, but for the good year I had used it (in tournament, rofl) there were never any issues, from me or other players (port burnouts, disconnects, lag). Now, thankfully everything is on PS3/4 (im sorry xbox players) so the question never even comes up for me, but yeah. AFAIK i started hearing all this crazy stuff when the Cronux MAX dropped, so i'd be a bit weary of that one. But from my exp (whatever that means) the original run seemed to have been fine. Yeah, that I know. Lucky for me that I don't plan on ever going to tournaments. Rather fight the internet. Thanks for the info guys. i mean, its up to you but really? ._. offline play is like a majority of the experience, inside and outside of the game :*(
BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I'm still laughing at some of those hits you got on Nemesis, I didn't know the second hit of Sledgehammer had such a vertical hitbox. GGs' to PSN tonight, particularly to Nemesis and Koopa Claws. For once, I didn't feel completely outclassed, but netplay is really fuckng up some of my combos lol.

I mean, if it only fucked over the player who brought it, then it wouldn't be that big of an issue. It looks like it's all over the place though.

BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 idk about you or anyone else but I feel like netplay is a lot stiffer than before and not just from the short input buffer. Stiffer as in more stable or stiffer as in a negative sense?
mAc Chaos Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 idk about you or anyone else but I feel like netplay is a lot stiffer than before and not just from the short input buffer.Did the input buffer change again?
WaltzOfTheWolf Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Well son of a bitch...I rest my D-card and everything to train with my new main in matches. Then PSN goes down well at least i got 1 match in, and he totally rage quit! Think his name was MidTierHero. Dat Valk corner Swag.....AWWWWW YEEEAH! LOL!
Koopa_Klawz Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Stiffer as in more stable or stiffer as in a negative sense? I'd say negative sense.
BlackYakuzu94 Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Did the input buffer change again? Either that or the hitstun has been lessened. I find confirming combos a lot harder than in 1.1
skd Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 Jab hitstun and untech time was deceased as an extension of the attack level values being charged, which does play a big role in hitconfirming. Stuff like the buffer, input shortcuts and etc are all the same afaik.
Errol Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 the jab change really sucks ass for netplay imo :/ I guess it depends, but the difference between having to gatling out during hitstop vs having a few frames after coming out, feels larger somehow than it looks to be on paper.
mAc Chaos Posted May 16, 2015 Author Posted May 16, 2015 I'm not sure how big of a difference it makes for the quality of the game overall, but decreasing the input windows really makes it harder to get new players into the game. In CT the input window was like a mile wide compared to how it is now and it was a lot easier to get players to try it out and think they were actually capable of something, enough for them to want to learn more. Since then I noticed a lot less enthusiasm when introducing people to the game because it's less pick up and play.
Ricky_Honejasi Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 GGs Ricky That first match double down was awesome. GGs. Indeed it was awesome and I sure didn't expect that on our first match. Too bad that I often lost due to not managing that to do that last hit while you had like 1%-10% life left on the 3rd round. Side note : I am also only on CP 1.1 and just waiting patiently for CP 2.0 US.
Nemesis Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 offline play is like a majority of the experience, inside and outside of the game :*( Nothing really beats drunkenly screaming at your friends at casuals or w/e Jab hitstun and untech time was deceased as an extension of the attack level values being charged, which does play a big role in hitconfirming. I had heard - from like everyone that the input buffer was reduced - from like 5 frames to 3 or something? mAc Chaos 1
skd Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 that decrease happened from CS to CP i think, or at a MUCH earlier point than now.
Errol Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 I remember that being mentioned after the release of CP. I only remember it being mentioned in reference to the buffer for dashing when a move was recovering, though.
WaltzOfTheWolf Posted May 16, 2015 Posted May 16, 2015 GGs!!! To peeps who entered my "Lions Den" room. Each person that came in was great match up experience for my new main! Shoutout to Loner (or whatever ur name is) that Noel was pretty awkward. but having the ability for a full screen carry over bnbs was messed up! GGs man! Stellar games to Dragonay ( I'm sure that is incorrect). Great matches man! And great match exp! Also people that I kicked. Your connections weren't good, with playing valk I need like absolute stellar net. So please don't send me vulgar PSN msgs calling me ridiculous names. LOL. I mean hell, at least I didn't use stylish mode. :D Regardless great night for matches!

CT nu could still die in a fire though. Turns out she did... Well, she can bathe in it again. In fact, I wonder which is worse, CT nu or the current one.
