Id rather see more about Es or Mai than him I'm growing tired of the jubei nagging only for him to be broken on release and ppl cry again like the whole kokonoe deal.

He's not just a house pet, he's one of the Six Heroes!  The Six Heroes isn't complete without him. I could care less about some character from a spin-off game. I'd like to see Mai as DLC but only after Jubei has been added first.

Plus it just makes sense to make him playable. It's not for certain that he's going to be broken.

despite him "logically" deserving to be playable, there happen to be a decent amount of ppl who don't care for the cat. last I checked in the story he was getting his ass handed to him at the last minute against nine in CP. so much for "world strongest" man that's gotta sting on his conscious like bret the hitman hart getting salty over the montreal screwjob. I do like his personality sure but I just don't care for him to be playable atm unless he rolling around like yoda from star wars or something. his fighting style is vague as hell atm to my knowledge outside of dual swords of such. maybe if they give him a lightsaber he'll make blazblue canon to star wars like tekken 7 is to street fighter lol akuma.... maybe he'll be interesting then.

IIRC he can swap positions with people or something with his sekigan? That's the impression I remember getting from the story mode that explains how hakumen got dumped in the boundary, though I'll admit it's been a while. Given the right moveset(like moves like Hibiki's J.C that have hitboxes on either side of him, for instance), being able to swap positions with your opponent could lead to a pretty neat playstyle.

I'd go so far as to wish for Jubei to die in the story mode in the most humiliating and bloody way imaginable so people will stop asking about him being in the game. He's insignificant and we already have Hibiki to fill the "small, twin-sword wielder" character.

 

Now on to more important matters. I'm interested in seeing just how "basic" Seiba-I mean Es actually is. She's apparently a Shoto-esque character like Celica but she has to have some sort of unique gimmick.

So an important and integral story character (Jubei) is somehow less important than Rei Clone #259235920? Especially since Es is, as you said, just a random shoto in terms of gameplay, and her place in the story isn't earned in the slightest.

And no, even if that were to happen, i'd keep pushing for Jubei to be playable. Look at how many "deaths" were overlooked thus far. Mori will have problems if Jubei's the sole exception to this. He deserves to get in more than literally anyone else remaining in any story connected to the entirety of the BB universe. Mai and Cajun can go sit in a corner.

You say yourself that Es is a Saber clone and yet you want Jubei to die in the story just so he won't be in the game? Seriously, what is wrong with you?

I agree with most of your post. Indeed, look at how Hazama and Trininity are still alive in CF even though they were presumed to have died in CP. Hell, they even brought back Nu and Lambda even though they died. I don't get why there are people who hate Jubei so much that they'd pick a character who doesn't have a place in the BB story over him. Some people are really weird. I don't know, maybe it's just me.

Truthfully, he's just annoying. ASW just keeps teasing him over and over and people get tired of it. I don't think there's anything wrong with Jubei as a character (though he feels kind of Rachel-y at times), I honestly think it's all outside the game stuff that make me dislike him. People have been going on about him for so long its just madness. ASW will probably make Linhua a playable character before Jubei just to keep the charade going.

Don't kid yourself. Despite Mai's interesting backstory detail, as it would likely have no influence on appearance or gameplay, he'd just be big-boobed animu waifu #465785135 with Kajun being #465785136.

Eh, why not? It's not like there's many protagonists / central characters out there in Japanese medium that utilize a spear or polearm. I like it personally. Hopefully Variable Heart...well, doesn't end up pure fanservice-2-steps-shy-from-porn that Remix Heart was. Even though the chances are on par with an ant punching the sun.

If the playstyle's good and the character entertaining, then yeah sure. I was just as much floored by Celica being added as anyone else and wanted to call Mori out on his trolling, but I do genuinely like what she does and I will never fault BB for adding diversity.

Debatable on both accounts. He's a big name in-universe but has done very little of import, by my count, since near the beginning of Continuum Shift. I will not go into details since this thread is for news and gameplay so let me boil it down to this: aside from giving out some pep-talks, being the Mickey to Jin's Rocky Balboa offscreen and getting his manhood rekt'd by his wife he's...kind of just there.

Personally, I've never cared enough to see the 6 Heroes completed in the game. They're just not that interesting (to me), either from a story or gameplay perspective. So forgive me if I don't particularly share an avid interest in seeing the Yoda feline added. However, looping back to my comment on diversity, if he is added at some point I'll welcome it. This series has been around for a good while now in my life and I'm at a point where I just want to see how it all unravels down in the future.
