I wanted to know what people's Idea of a horrible or annoying play-style is,

For example I met a Hakumen who just kept spamming Drive and jumping and running away while randomly attacking my projectiles, I could deal with it but however it was horribly annoying especially since he was talking on his mic saying how I was a Try-Hard and how much of a scrub I was.

So in you guy's opinions what is the most annoying play-style?

Runaway zoners or those players who rely on projectiles too much. Those who just keep backdashing, high jump over you, spam projectiles endlessly and never go into melee, even if they can. Then win by timeout, like some Nu/Lambda players I played in Blazblue or Anna in the upcoming Nitroplus Blasters.
Can't help but swear at them for making me chase those pranksters around.

I hate people who just won't stand on the bloody ground for 2 freaking seconds.

Played a Marie online and he would just j.C > mash auto combo. I can anti air that fluff consistently,  but with lag? Not so much.

The worst part is that when his Persona breaks,  he would still jump in the air and hit C. Only nothing would happen and he would look like a filthy flea.

People who are always in your head and know the exact time to press buttons. And people who are really good at blocking. And people who beat me everytime. That stuff tends to be pretty annoying.

People who know exactly what to do against me, thus making me feel helpess.

Sledge spamming Tagers.

C/D spamming Hakumens. Mash C into tsunami wave, and you cut down your opponents health in two hits.

Wake up mashy players.

To be fair, most players are trying to win.  So not getting hit is all part of that.

If they jump alot, just go for an airthrow.  If they backdash alot, punish with a meaty move with lots of active frames, or bait it into a meaty.

Reading is harder to cope with, but it can be dealt with if you behave less predictably than you normally would.  Do things you wouldn't normally do, or wait for the opponent to try something and punish that.  Even doing something like not teching at all will make a player who was expecting you to neutral tech to wiff whatever trap they were setting for you if you did.

If they aren't the type to take risks or if they guard things perfectly, break up their rhythm with throws and command throws, or in Guilty Gear's case, use a standing Dust attack or sweep, or even an unblockable if you have them.  If they can read overheads, do something that might cause a cross-up.

In GGXrd, for example, I find lots of players are not accustomed to blocking backwards during a crossup, so they mess up quite a bit.

If players use a lot of jump-ins or IADs, use an anti-air move like 6A or 6P.

Also, if you're dealing with players who rely on heavy pressure to win, break up that pressure by zoning them with long range normals, attack before they can.  And yes, mashing buttons is part of this if it means keeping them out of your personal space, just be smart about it and know your normals.  Barrier and Faultless Defense also help give you space, but try not to use it too much otherwise they'll go for a throw.  Learn to jump if they get too close.

For players who use DPs a lot, just bait them and they'll give you an opening.

I love the air, especially when people sit in it all day and get 2C counterhit into a beefy combo : )

Playing Hazama, I rarely have trouble with people who can't sit still mainly because if they aren't careful they end up getting combo'd to oblivion or getting a hungry coil to the face which could lead to another combo.

Playing Izayoi, that damn playstyle annoys the living shit out of me due to her second form being especially made to be on the opponent at all times makes me feel like I have work harder than most people since, jumping crazily kills her pressure strings and kinda forces me to switch stances and kill their movement by killing mine.

What I hate in order.

1. I HATE purple grabs. 2. People who never want to block are wack too. Like I don't want to play you anymore if all you want to do on wakeup is mash buttons but if its laggy I'll probably mash buttons too Kappa.

3. Zoners make me feel some type of way sometimes. I'm deep in that close melee action. Mu-12 is cool though.

But you play Bang, so why should zoners matter to you? (^:

Because I'm deep in that close melee action? Hehe

I do use Bang but that doesn't mean I like the zoner playstyle. Sorry pokemon but that's how I feel in every fighting game :L

1.) Throw D nails

2.) Free approach

3.) Deep melee action

And if you don't want to use nails then there's always:

1.) Guardpoint projectile

2.) Teleport behind opponent

3.) Deep melee them in the back of the head

And don't forget the ol' "Alucard Special"

1.) 3C

2.) Slide under projectile

3.) Deep melee fatal frontflips for 4k

If you're a Bang player, you shouldn't even complain about zoners. You have guardpoints, the slide trip that fatals, double air dashes, and nails. If anything, a zoner can complain about Bang because he can disrupt zoning.

So I can't dislike a playstyle as long as the matchup with X character isn't bad with my MAIN?

That's fine and all, but I don't see why that matchup is unlikable when it's usually in your favor.

Oh ok then. Yeah I won't deny Bang is stronger in the match up it's true. Don't misunderstand though, I don't hate zoners, but in general I personally just prefer not to fight them. That's why it's at the bottom of my list lol.

But does that make sense?
