Daysoo Posted September 9, 2010 Posted September 9, 2010 There anyone around the Griffin area that plays? Only people I know of are Mutton Chopz and another one of our friends that plays. (Dunno what name he goes by on here.) Sorry if I shouldn't be posting like this, not familiar with the etiquette here. You should try and make it to the Tech gatherings on Fridays. It's only about an hour away from you, same distance I travel. :V Will anyone there have an unmodded TE I could use? I have a 360 stick but haven't dual modded it. Uhh, unmodded? Several of our regulars have TEs, mine runs on 360 and PS3. Actual footage of Valk released http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GCtdBfdGOtU#t=2m16s ----- Small gathering at my house today, 7:30PM. Kentiah Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Don't have the money right now to drive to Atlanta and back just for a few hours of gaming, going to AWA in a couple weeks, and I'll have to drive there and back all 3 days, which amounts to about 30 bucks a day, and saving my cash for that + spending money to blow it on animu related stuff. Maybe some other time if you guys do this somewhat consistently.
Eshi Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 There and back all three days? Why? Can't find somewhere to crash? Platinum the Trinity is the most amazing character I've ever seen. She has fucking neko missiles. I almost want to switch mains again.
ebzero89 Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 i should be there tonight but I'll need directions lol edit: it starts at 7 right desu could you call and remind me to go please? I'm about to start doing something and I don't want to loose track of time and forget
Isuyaru Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 I'll be there, but my phone doesn't work right now. I'll either be at the library keeping an eye on this thread for someone to post when it starts, or at Tech Rec if anyone else is hanging out there. Edit: Oh wait, the library's closing in a few minutes. So I may not have a way to check the thread either.
Aftermath1349 Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 Daysoo, by unmodded I meant just a plain TE with no changed buttons etc. I've only ever played on Sanwa and don't want to use a dif stick and realize that the button consistency affects my playing ya know? I'm going to try to head up soon. May have to skip due to prior engagement but trying to get out of it right now.
Eshi Posted September 10, 2010 Posted September 10, 2010 We're gonna hold it in the same room as last time, klaus 1447. See y'all there.
Karavision Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I had a great time guys. Tim, you learned me quite a bit tonight. After this, I am not sure if I can play online again. I have to learn to not panic, slow down my motions and apparently....."stop churning the butter", lol.
Kentiah Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Well it's cheaper to drive than to get a hotel or something to stay for the 3 days.
TheSlyMoogle Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 Well it's cheaper to drive than to get a hotel or something to stay for the 3 days. actually bro probably not. Generally you are gonna pay like 30 bucks for gas but splitting a room with 3 other people will be the same price or less. Anime cons are notorious for having their rooms crammed with motherfuckers. To be honest since most cons are 24/7 I've even seen people who just go to anime rooms to crash on the floors somewhere. Plenty of anime goers even just craigslist or hit forums for roomies during the con. Maybe that's not your thing but maybe you could make a friend or two. :D
SolidPlay Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 We ain't dead. We right next door. Just wanna connect with you guys and get shit popping with all our Southeast brothers http://www.youtube.com/user/BamaMonsters187?feature=mhum#p/a/u/2/nEC6pegeQSY
Kentiah Posted September 11, 2010 Posted September 11, 2010 I have 2 friends going with me, and the cheapest hotel listed was still about 90 bucks a day or something vs 90 dollars total driving, split between us. Though one of em is terrible at saving money and not sure if he's going or not so either he's gonna go and not have the cash for gas and we'll just pay for his share, or he's not going at all and we still pay his share. I wouldn't particularly mind staying with random people, but having 2 other people with me would make me feel like a douche. YO I GOT 3 OF US CAN WE STAY BRO?

Oh well at that point you post up your own craigslist or forum ad. "Yo going to AWA, have 3 people need X amount of people to stay in room and split cost... Anime Trivia wars will be had for spots on the bed. Losers get floor, everyone saves money. Alcohol is appreciated." That is unless you're one of those people who is morally opposed to a tasty alcoholic beverage.
Kentiah Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 I'm always up for some drinking. As long as it's not beer, sorry, I just can't stand the taste, I'd rather just take some high proof shots and get it over with quick, lol.

You have to start with a cheap beer something like Natty Light or something else. Something that basically tastes like water. Anyway then beer will grow on you. After it does it's amazing times. The best part is you go out to eat, have from 1-3 beers and some serious foodage and you're good.

Kentiah Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Pretty sure he meant in my case, someone that doesn't like beer, not just in general. I don't think it counts but I do like Mike's Hard stuff, but I think those are considered coolers or something.

Or "Bitch Beer". :V As for not liking beer, you just need to try something that isn't in the vein of Bud or Michelob, more than likely. You might want to consider trying a stout beer. See if your local package store has something like O'Hara's Irish Stout, or failing that look for good 'ol Guinness. If you are lucky enough to be at a bar that has Red Brick Brown Ale on tap, you should treat yourself to a glass. It's all right bottled, but it's nothing short of wonderful draught.
TheSlyMoogle Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 We call those cheerleader beers. Yeah I hated beer a long time ago. Then ky crew got together to watch the movie beerfest and I was like "holy shit we need to shotgun beers, I hate beers but that looks fun as hell" so we got a case of natty and let's just say I shotgunned like 10 beers in an hour with jais and proceeded to lay on our kitchen floor and talk about how awesome beer was. I didn't start to enjoy good beer until after that. Guiness used to make me feel sick.
Daysoo Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 All this talk about beer is making me want some. Sucks that it's Sunday and all. :| Oh: And there was a PS3 pad left at tech on Friday. Let me know if it belongs to you. --- 12:30PM - Got a headache, gonna take a nap. Will prolly wake up around 3:30 - 4:00ish. If anyone wants to hang out or do some gaming later today, lemme know.
Isuyaru Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 The pad might actually be mine, mine's been missing since Friday. I didn't even think I brought a pad there, but it's possible.
FunkyP Posted September 12, 2010 Posted September 12, 2010 Yo ivysaur you said you were interested in my PS2 stick. Would you take it for $80? Or would you like for me to make you a fresh new one for a bit more?
Karavision Posted September 13, 2010 Posted September 13, 2010 My favorite is Samual Adams. The Regular and the Boston ale. The Sweetwater and Dogfish Pale ales are awesome as well. My absolute favorite only comes out around the holidays. Sweetwater festive ale. If you are near atlanta or downtown decatur, try out some of the stuff from the local smaller breweries. There is enough out there to really please anyone.
