Regardless, playing defensively with her hasn't changed much while playing offensively has changed from low risk/high reward to medium risk/low reward. It's not worth it to rush with Rachel with her current changes. The number of chances she has to mount an offense are limited further (wind meter changes) and the probability of landing mixups went down significantly against anyone with decent reaction time (j.2c changes).

Yeah, those are gone, but they were fun while they lasted. :v:

I'd just prefer if she'd gone from low risk/high reward to medium risk/medium reward.

I hope she doesn't turn into some awful zoner, maybe 4B will be usable outside frog/BBL block stun mixup seeing as how it's her only form of mixup right now, correct me if i'm wrong about it being the only over head thats usable...

4b and j.b are the current high attacks for mixups right now. Players have been largely unsuccesful in replacing j.a with j.b, and 4b is still fairly slow to come out (though a tad faster than in CT), though.

LoL. kro_ makes me confident that we'll be able to adjust. The pumpkin tricks w/ 236a mentioned are something I employ from time to time in CT, and the rest makes sense. If she's stuck, I'm sure things will be figured out... even if I can't contribute. lol. Btw, kro_ awesomeness with the Rachel guide. I suppose IAD j.a, j.b could still be useful for overhead fun following a 236a in the right circumstances, though you might eat a DP as well. Worthwhile on Tager, at least, despite proration, since there's still some rushdown possibility, sans cross up fun. In any case, I'm still glad to be amongst the Rachel players that have predominantly NOT caused trouble for the mods in complaining in the main CS threads. =B

Actually just realized this, but in theory, j.3da j.b is still an approach that registers a high hit because of the j.b, isn't it? Just really unwieldly and slow because of the mid-attack j.a? Or were there some changes to j.a and j.b that I'm unaware of?

Yes it registers a high hit but it's not mixup at that point. If they didn't switch their guard to high after the j.a they just fail miserably.

Meh, I'll update the first post with new loke test stuff on Sat/Sun.

i just found out how her new j.a might really hurt her mixup, i mean the fact that it's normal block now is fine but now, unless as stated before they fail miserably, after doing j.a they know to gaurd high, :vbang: and seeing as how the j.b hitbox is fairly horizontal i dont see that replacing j.a very well, maybe they'll make her j.b more diaganal that'd be....unique, i wonder what her new mixup tactic will be if these changes even stay

The only reason I would have chosen to use TD instead of BBL was because of the easier input (236236+B).

Now TD has the same input as BBL, it uses wind and it seems easy to whiff...

Eh, it's not a big deal. 632146 becomes second nature after playing lots of Rachel and Ragna (and spamming Nu's huge sword).

Bang's 2363214 for Daifunka made me cry for a while, though.

Yup. I think we're all used to having to combo into Rachel's supers, though, so I'm not quite sure when it'll come in handy.

If it has a quick enough startup, though, we might be able to use it as a reversal.

I actually like 632146 input, it's easy and less stressful than 236236 or 214214 and oh dear goodness 2363214, I wish Arakune had a super with that input. :<

632146 is the only DD input that I find easier on the stick. The other ones are easier on the pad. Especially Bang's Daifunka.

I can instantly Daifunka out of almost any opening on the pad, but I fail the input 70% of the time on the stick, and I'm just slower at inputting it. :vbang:

Is she seriously throwin a cow at ragna :vbang: the only way for this move not to be a joke would be if it could be used as a reversal, that would make Rachel's around the world getting cornered very happy :yaaay:

Yes.

I use the pad and getting the 4 to register is a pain.

236236 is so much easier to input.

TD may end up being useful though.

Looks like around 3k damage from a direct hit with minimal proration and four wind stock.

Not sure useful it will be, though, outside of reversals. At that range, it still knocked Noel a significant distance away, and though she got stunned by the giant King George, Rachel isn't able to move until all the objects have been tossed, so she'd have to IAD to continue any sort of combo off of it (or dash, if they can't air tech from that).

I do like that it activates fast enough to combo off of 5b, though. If the invincibility kicks in on frame one, it'll be a blast to use in pressure strings.

TD looks mighty useful now but it seems rachel got the short end of the stick in terms of the new burst, i imagine her arial combo icluding her DD doesnt do much damage, but yeah TD looks like a nice reversal tool, too bad it still looks retarted :v:

Another thing I noticed from the video is that it looks like Noel tries to tech after the cows hit, but the entire screen is shocked when King George flips onto the screen. (IE King George doesn't need to hit with the opponent to do damage like the bats and cows do.) ETA: Rachel's page on the official site has been updated... Depending on which it is, it would be an interesting finisher for an aerial combo or a j.2c knockdown from the air (cancelled into it).

It doesn't do an amazing amount of damage on its own, though... so I can't imagine it'd be very useful at the end of a combo, what with all that proration. We'll see, though.

Gii helps summon them, so I think they would appear from wherever Rachel is since Gii is always floating by her.

Ah, I see. Shoots out from between Rachel and Gii in a sorta low arc.

Huh. It'll be interesting to see what people do with it, that's for sure. :v:

I rather wish I could go play around with the game. xD
