I need you to elaborate on the 'attack strings'.. exactly what new gatling/links did he receive?

And how is he MORE reliant on nirvana than he was before? Are his normals worse/smaller/laggier and nirvana's better to approach with in CS?

No, it probably just means that Carl players are forced to use Nirvana for more than just teleporting her mid combo for the infinite.

schools been hitting me, but doesnt stop me from checking out the new Carl! =D If they're gonna make carl go back to being fully dependent on sandwiching (which i'm fine with), i hope they do something about 6D hitting airborne, at least make it so its a knockdown or it floats long enough for us to follow up with a combo. Else its still too easy to get out! Esp now with carl's weakened options

I thought fermata already did 3k damage? Or is it FIXED at 3k? Cuz that would make me waaaaaaaaaaay too happy about Carl. As is, I'm not depressed and considering dropping BB altogether after this new info.

I noticed earlier in the game mechanics section of where you got that from, ZONG_one. It says you can't special cancel after tech rolling anymore. So you can only super after a neutral tech apparently. I was really depending on supering on techs, so maybe I'll have to make sure I neutral everytime instead, if I can even do that now.

I used to low into IAD j.2C to go for mixups, now there's barely anything to work with if I want to overhead while keeping them on the ground.

I'm curious if they made 3C prorate less. It prorates way too much right now.

I almost picked up Baiken just for wallbounce shenanigans, once upon a time. Now my main has it? Pleaaaaaaaaase let this stay in.

Overheads are nerfed, but with the srk putting us at frame advantage, I have a feeling it's going to be a lot harder to get outta Carl lockdown without Nirvana dying off.

I always neutral tech as Carl. No reason not to. Neutral tech, buffer vivace against people that aren't expecting it, and imbue it with throw invul after regular invul wears off. Say goodbye to Ragna/Litchi/Stupid player lockdown games. I'll eat combos vs players that don't expect it just to do this.

But wait... we can cancel techrolls with specials in BB? Sooooooo... Can I cancel techroll into vivb+fueco/teleport for the ultimate get-away?

Bolded for emphasis. I've been going solo Carl against a lot of characters lately, only bothering to summon Nirvana when I ABSOLUTELY need her help/have the infinite ready. It's dumb, but it's what we have to do to win.

Also, there goes my corner rape defense. Tech away > Gear special > Unblockable > corner throw loop. Oh well, we'll find something.

If they REALLY wanted to nerf Carl they would not allow 3C to jump cancel. =/ Ewewwww that would be terrible.

Sorry, that "impression" was not my own. But I think it's basically been covered now. As for new links, I'm really digging that 5A links to 2A now. Do you guys think 2A still links to 5A? :psyduck:

It never did (except maybe on CH). It still chains though, and change list hasn't reported them removing it, so yeah.

2A link 5A -- 2A recovers completely and then doing 5A. 2A chain 5A -- what you're probably thinking of, the regular gatling cancel; 2A recovery cancelled to 5A startup. Also, TGS, you changed from the bewbz for fucking Hazama? Where is your sense of machismo?PRIORITIES, DUDE.

There is nothing in the changes that validate that assumption of Carl. And no it hasnt been covered anywhere. IMO Nirvana dying really fast would suggest Carl would have to be somewhat more independent of her to be able to be without her for some time.

If you don't know anything about it that's fine as I was just bringing attention to it to see if there was anything more that I was missing.

Carl:

neesan hp recovery is faster. If not killed (from near death), full recovery is about 7 seconds.

each 8D takes 20% of her health bar.

More recovery to his forward hop (why?)

Hmm, so technically he can still clap loop, but only for a really short time. 8D takes away 20%, interesting. Im guessing they want us to use 623D as our primary anti air rather than trying to anti air our opponents with a mixture of 623D and 8D.

Alright I guess the throw loop is still a viable way of killing someone if their life is low. Cool

hakumen can cancel his hop into 214c or 214b because it's considered in the air. I'm guessing allegretto cancelable? (I'm thinking it has to be specials)

Carl 21 Frames 3~14 airborne, 16~ normal move, special move and throw cancel possible

but honestly, i'd like them to do something with carl's backdash... as if his guard libra and life isn't shitty enough, he has what i'd argue the worse backdash in the game (20 frames, 19 frames of airbourne but only 7 invin)

well depending on where guard primer breakers are placed, and maybe some tweaks to vivace, maybe he can just dodge 'em with vivace? :O I dunno. as it stands though yeah, carl's..... bleh w/o clap trap.

So last night i was trying to play Carl without throw loop. It wasnt that bad coz i never really liked it anyways. but lets just say i was quite dependent on 5B jump cancel, j2c as an overhead option, 3c iad j2c clap loop... which is also all gone... sigh

Then it just means the ~3-14 airborne part can be cancelled to air specials, which is eh since he has only one air special; but eh, a 3F-slower ground Allegreto would have its uses.
